Can you use an app like Loop to get your historical gas usage (I know they can with Electric, but not sure on Gas as we don’t have it).  This might show your historical usage

Is there somewhere to report bugs as we find them.

On my Mac running safari, the login page is just all grey. Auto fill can still complete my name and password and if I click the correct area I can log in, so it’s just the username and password boxes not displaying correctly

Sigma might be the answer then, I would have expected someone to try and fill the “next-day” market.  I do try and purchase in advance where possible, but kit always seems to break right before when you need it.

I was in Cardiff overnight a couple of weeks ago with work, I used one of the City centre NCP’s – was about £32 for 24 hours parking (and the car was fine).  There were plenty of City Centre Hotels to choose from, and quite reasonable (especially compared to staying in London).

I have one order that was updated as shipped on Friday night but Evri shows still waiting for the parcel, it was only a couple of jerseys and not too expensive, I would expect that Evri are working on a cash up front basis with Wiggle/CRC by now, so probably just stuck in a backlog.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the brands.

I placed an order on the 4th that was stuck in processing, then on the 9th got an email saying shipped and it turn up on the 10th – Now have enough coats to last me for a few years.  I have an order from the 5th that is still in processing and one from yesterday that is just saying placed.  The first two were placed using the EXTRA10 code and the one yesterday had 10EXTRA on it.

Will wait and see what turns up.

Some of the Women’s say they come up large, not seen any feedback about the mens.  Will post here when/if they arrive – Still waiting for them to be shipped

    Ladies Jackets here

    https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/fohn-womens-insulated-parka

    https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/fohn-womens-longline-bonded-down-jacket

There is also this mens waterproof jacket under £33 with the Extra10 Code, it has a 20,000mm HydroStatic head so more waterproof than the one listed above, and shows as breathable as well.  https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/fohn-mens-packable-2-5l-hooded-jacket.   I have one of these coming as well – Going to need a bigger coat cupboard soon.

If anyone is looking for an outdoors coat, some of the Fohn Down jackets were reduced again yesterday, most of them seem to be 70% off now and the extra10 code still works, so you can get a synthetic down jacket for £32, or a bonded down jacket for about £63.

The OH went for one of the long down jackets, and the also have longer waterproof parka’s for the ladies as well – Will hopefully arrive in time for Mothers day…….

Not cheap, but have used Dissent 133 gloves through the last few winters, but the whole set originally and repealed one of the shells when they wore out.

The layering works well, never get cold hands and of they get warm on a ride then just remove one of the layers.

I spoke to SRAM and the Eagle ones have EAGLE stamped on the link, whereas the T-Type ones have T-Type on the link, so the ones I have are fine for my chain, they just say Flattop Connector on the description.

Thanks for all the responses, looks like I am OK to use the flattop ones I have then as they have Eagle stamped on them.

I have used one on a ICE car and I reckon the consumption was 5%-10% lower using the roof box, that said we have quite a small (narrow) roof box, so I would expect similar range reduction on an EV.

I would definitely go with Aero bars, the square bars are a lot noisier – Also fill the slots in the aero bars as this reduces the sound.  You can get very Aero looking roof boxes but then you typically can’t get much in them as they are so low at the front.

I looked at some direct from China Wheels, there is Light Bicycle who I know a few people have got their rims and had them built over here.  The other one I saw were Elite Wheels – A few YouTube reviews of their wheels (mainly from the US), but not seen many UK reviews – Seem to be a copy of the DT Swiss Hub with their own rims

Good call on those wheels from Merlin, hadn’t seen them.  So they are £900 and I have some loyalty points with Merlin that would bring them down to £875 (assuming I can combine the two offers)

So the choice looks more like the Roval Control 6B’s which re 29mm internal vs the DT Swiss XRC 1200’s which are 25,mm internal.

I usually run 2.2-2.4 tyres so either set will be fine with these tyre sizes, the DT Swiss have the better hubs (180’s vs 350’s).

If you like the idea of a Miele but can’t afford a new one, they also have an Outlet (https://www.miele.co.uk/c/miele-outlet-abingdon-1409.htm)  We had a couple of bits from the Outlet and they have been fine, last thing we had was a new washing machine to replace the 26 year old Miele one we had before that.

Do you know what brand/size he uses in the summer – This will help with the sizing.

I have some Callaway ones and some Footjoy ones, both very similar and both nice pairs of winter gloves.

There are two types of winter gloves though, the thinner pair that you play in, or thick ones that you tend to wear between shots.

I had the same issue and the fix described in this link fixed mine, did it last week.

    http://forum.elite-it.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3551

Basically removed the four screws and apply some fresh grease to the thread (specifically the magnet end not the motor end)

Level Mode is free on the Elite Mytraining App, Select Trainings (Top Level) then Level Mode, then preset the filter button near the bottom and you get a slider that goes from 1-16 – This will move the magnet back and forwards, once you have cleaned and re-greased it, it will then move fine).

If you think you will be able to get outside then Molkky is good fun and will while away an hour or so whilst not needing much space.

Does anyone know if you get Discovery+ through a sky subscription can you then watch anything via the Discovery+ app.  I know you can get Eurosport in the Sky App, but not Discovery+ as that is an”app” on the SkyQ box

    paul_m

Looks like if you are a subscriber you will get a refund.  The only option is then to subscribe to Discovery+ to get all the cycling so £6.99 a month vs £39.99 a year.

The traffic doesn’t usually back up onto the M1 (although it will be busier as will the M40), the main issue is that the A43 is closed between the M1 and M40, so everything that usually uses that is looking for other routes as well.  I would go for A38 > M42 > M40 > A34 (Oxford) > M3 > M27 and avoid the M25

When we were there last summer you could pick up a free SIM in the airport that gave you some limited data for a few days, then you can just set up an account with it and buy more data/calls.

If you have both machines on the same network then you can use scp to move all the files over (I use it frequently between windows and Mac machines)

I have tried to place an order this morning and despite wiggle+ showing as still on my account, it keeps telling me I need to spend more to qualify. Was trying to order something yesterday and couldn’t get on the site for most of the day (got lot’s of emails about the order history, but nothing saying they were going to go down for the day).

If only someone else offered a paid for next day delivery service (that’s the main reason I use them)

The scheme where all your tax relief gets applied directly is usually called Salary Sacrifice, where effectively you give up x% of your salary in return for the company putting that given up salary into your pension. As you don’t “earn” the money you don’t pay any tax on it, and therefore don’t have claim it back further down the line. Your pension will probably show the whole contribution as being from the employer (not the employee).

Some advice I was given a few years ago was to put in at least the amount that would get he biggest contribution from your employer (so if they match up to 3%, then put the 3% in) otherwise you will not get the full benefit – This assumes that the % you have to give up is affordable.

We can put the Mii in Mrs Rocks name, so she officially owns two cars?

Yes, you can own as many cars as you want (or can afford)

If we start to use the Mii, then we need to insure that. So we will have insurance on two cars.

You can have insurance on two cars in the same person’s name – Might be worth looking at Admiral or Direct Line or anyone else who offers multi-car insurance, the more cars you insure the cheaper it gets.

If you want to hear what is going on around you, I use Aftershokz (they may just be called Shokz now), they are the bone conduction ones. I use them all the time when running or on the turbo trainer.

First thing I would do is get her to ask for it to all be put in writing, and then maybe ask HR why the contract is being cut short.

I got one of these chargers, having used their AA charger for years. I have used it quite extensively with some Dive Lights and never had an issue with either of them.

I have been a Parish Councillor, so do speak from experience, your post raises a few points that need to be clarified.

    1) Parish Councils do not typically approve any planning application, that is done at a district or county level (whoever name is on your council tax bill), all a Parish Council can do is comment on any plans (just as any other person can).
    2) Did you actually get planning permission to build the memorial (and do you need planning permission), if you did then you are fine. It may be that you just ran it past the council to approved, in which case it should be minuted by them, as will why they then decided to ask you to stop. The Clerk is not part of the council, but there to take notes and send out letters etc.
    3) Who owns the ground on which the memorial is built, as this may also have an impact if it is owned by the church.
    4) Every village has these self appointed “Lord of the Manor”, I would ask the clerk that the matter is to added to the next Parish Council Meeting and then attend that meeting. You are allowed to speak for 2 minutes on why you think it should be allowed (as is the person who doesn’t want it). Parish councillors have to be impartial and if not you can take it up with your local council’s monitoring office

We have a Coachbuilt Motorhome and that has space for the bikes in the garage under the bed. I can fit 4 bikes in there with just the front wheels removed (and mine is an XL frame). Still plenty of room on the bed as well. The previous van we have to remove the seat posts which was a bit more work.

When we bought this van we turned up at the dealers with the bikes to make sure they would fit (as it would be show stopper for us if they didn’t)

Back to the topic of mixed Summer and Winter tyres on the same axle, it’s not illegal, but strongly not recommended. I would expect some issue’s with your insurance if you are involved in an accident.

You don’t get the £2854.80 back, it classed as an expense you incurred for work, and will be deducted from your taxable income (so effectively you get the tax back on it at whatever rate you pay tax).

If you do a tax return then you’ll be doing them every year from now on, I would suggest using something like taxcalc to do it as it’s quite simple and can submit the return for you.

You can also claim quite a few other things depending what your job is (uniform allowance. WFH allowance etc), taxcalc has guides on what you can claim built in

There are plenty of issues working in another country, some employers specifically forbid it (even whilst on holidays), I have worked at others where we have to confirm we haven’t worked in another country, lot’s of issues around creating taxable entities etc (and I guess post Brexit you would need a work visa as well)

There is some great guidance here that covers some of the issues .

I did this on a Trek frame and it was replaced with no issues, although I guess it might depend where it had cracked
