Hi Marthall,
Was your subscription purchased through us or Apple?

If through us and you followed the instructions here
http://singletrackworld.com/singletrack-app-for-ipad/
you need to create a pocketmags account on the first device you activated. You can then use the pocketmags account details to login on the second device.

To clarify, the activation on the first device creates a temporary (non-iTunes) pocketmags account. If you then create a full pocketmags account the sub can then be used on other devices.

hi foureyes,
Finally heard back and I think I can clarify things.

When you use the methods linked to above the following happens:

If you are logged into the app with a pocketmags account everything will be fine and you should be anle to use multiple devices to access your sub.

If you are not logged in and activate your sub, you effectively create a temporary account on your device. If you want to use a second (or third) device you need to create and account within the app on the same device you activated with

If this doesn’t work for you, email me directly at tech@singletrackworld.com

Hi All,
Sorry, been a bit busy lately and also had major tech problems yesterday.

PHC was sorted out 2 weeks ago.

kcal: Was sorted out last week.

foureyes: Your issue is a bit more complicated and I’ve sought advice from PocketMags last week. I’ll chase them again today. sorry about the delay.

bigholty: It takes a few hours until everything is synced up. You’ve now got your sub number and you can access it here http://singletrackworld.com/premier/account/
You should be able to use the app now

Hi All,
PHC, kcal and foureyes – Can you email me at tech@singletrackworld.com if you are having issues with your subscription/app.
I’m in the office 9-5 Monday-Friday and will happily sort out these issues

perthmtb – Sorry, no Windows 8 Phone app in the medium term. I’ll talk to the developers but the numbers of users of Windows 8 are so low it’s not economically viable for most app development. You can use the MagArchive which includes PDF, ePub, and Kindle versions of the mags. We think the ePub works great on all smart phones.

I hang mine upside down (by the wheels) from the underside of the joists. Easy to fit the screw hooks in the wood and keeps them reasonably out of the way.

Think I’ve worked out the cause.
Opera Mini is not responding well to css elements placed off screen. If that’s the cause I’ll fix it later today. In the mean time I can only suggest you use a different browser.

Apologies for the inconvenience

Edit: That was the problem and I’ve made a temporary fix.

I’m thinking of putting it on my ancient tank of a hybrid so not to worried about cosmetic damage to the frame.

Like the handles on the co-rider. Looks like a heavy bit of kit though. 5kg shipping weight according to amazon. Review here

Hi Dogarden,
Yes, you go to My Library, press and hold the issue you want to delete (this will select it). You can then tap delete.

scotroutes – Are you asking that we record every post you read so that we can tell you when there are posts that you haven’t read?

Not sure I would want to do that or that our users would appreciate it.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Hi saxabar,
The only cookies on this site are login-status and ordering type ones and those from the ad networks.

If you’ve Premier and you’ve got Ads reduced you should just get the Google Analytics and the OpenX ones. OpenX is not a third party, it’s the open-source software we have installed on our own servers to deliver house and contracted ads.

Yep, seems that way
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/bike-blog/2011/jul/28/cycling-pavement-offence

So unless there is some sort of by-law in place, cycling on a pavement that’s not beside a road may be fine.

In fairness, the community police officers can’t be expected to know the intricacies of the law as they may only have had 6 weeks training.

When with the kids (11 and 4), I always cycle on the pavement unless the canal towpath is an option. I’d prefer to risk a fixed penalty than lose one of the children. The police when I pass them usually smile. I teach the kids to say “excuse me”, give pedestrians room and not to cycle too fast. We smile and say thank you to everyone we pass including the odd miserablist.

Riding beside the kids on the road isn’t an option as I would be going too slow for the traffic. I’ve tried cycling on the road with the 11 year old but unfortunately some drivers can’t seem to accomodate this and have blown their horns and tried to force him off the road. I’d like him to enjoy cycling so we’ll be sticking to pavements until he’s in his late teens.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think the user should have the choice of how they open links. I often Cmd + Click (mac) to open links in new tabs for reading later. Other times I just want a one way ticket. Older mobiles often have tab limits that make opening new tabs a bad idea. Macs also have nice “gestures” for going back that aren’t available when opening new tabs/windows.

So I don’t have any plans to force open in new tab on users.

I’m rubbish at maths and my stats are ball park but here goes.

Well 122 died in 2012
There are around 50million drivers.
So if you drove for 60 years there could be 7,320 deaths
So I reckon your chances of causing one death is 0.00014640

Two, I calculate at 2.143296e-8

Mathematicians, I think I need help. Is that right?

Hi Kellies heros,
Sorry you don’t feel the monthly subscription is worth the money.
It is intended primarily as a taster and we hope people will shift to the better value Annual sub if they like it.

That said monthly subscriptions do suit some of our readers better.

We have to pay a third party developer to get you App access so we can’t afford to include it in a no-commitment monthly sub.

Just to clarify. You don’t just get a PDF of the current mag for your £2.99. You also get

12 years worth of publication to read[/*]

PageFlip versions to read on any device supporting Flash[/*]

ePub and Kindle versions of the mag[/*]

Access to the reviews section – there will be a lot more in there soon[/*]

Tuesday Treats – great prizes every week[/*]

Exclusive web content[/*]
Ultimately we think that’s worth at least £2.99. But if you want even better value get an Annual and you’ll get it cheaper and also get a Premier Card which can easily be used to get discounts in excess of the cost of the subscription.
