I think his manager is Mark Webber, isn’t it?

Yes its Mark Webber but I believe Briatore also has some involvement.

No idea on price range but I’m staggered at the market share Skechers seem to have obtained in the UK. Some of the big name players must be feeling the the impact of that.

I cant see him ending up at Alpine – after what’s gone on that would be very unpleasant for all concerned. So it has to be McLaren or maybe he ends up stranded on the sidelines for another season.
Either way his management handled this badly leaving him with the possibility of no drive.

I like watching these auctions, some of the prices seem way over the top (1972 Porsche 911T) but maybe they are exceptional condition. Gullwing Merc 300 seemed about right compared to the others I’ve seen sold.

Went over Friday and everything went well (except the huge queue for Starbucks).
Coming back today was a different story. Arrived 1hr 20mins before the due check in time and appeared to be heading for an early train but the car park was gridlocked due to the backlog from the passport checks and we ended up on a later than scheduled service. Only toilet working was in the last carriage and we were in the first :-(

It s been a few years since I last used Eurotunnel – when it all worked extremely well.
So what’s actually different now? It sounds a bit like going through immigration at the airport. Do you queue at a booth to have your paperwork checked? And if so what paperwork do you need to have ready for inspection?

Regards weight, yes I lost some during recovery from surgery, I am larding myself up in preparation!

Yes eat as much rubbish as you can :-)
I keep things like Yazoo to hand as it’s a quick 400 calories mid morning. The hospital have also provided small energy drinks which are about the same (but taste disgusting). The fruit juice alternative is ok mixed with water – ask for Altrajuce.

I’m going through a similar process and I’ve found it really tough going.
3 week cycle and in my 2nd session, I cant even think about riding a bike and most days it’s a struggle to get out of bed.
Tonight I’m going to try a walk to the pub and meet up with the guys but I will be arranging a lift home – its 1.25 miles. I’ve done a couple of trial runs over the last few days.
You may well be different but for me getting another calories on board is a huge issue, I’m down from 92 to 72 kg and feeling pretty flaky.

    Good luck.

Seems he’s been too busy getting pied up to refresh his tired, ageing, embarrassing and smarmy format. at least 10 years too late coming IMHO

Couldn’t agree more. How the BBC allowed this to carry on for so long is beyond me.
And as for the Friday ‘jockin’ rubbish that really winds me up.
I’ve avoided listening to this for years.

Nationwide renewal came through this week and it’s gone from £322 down to £282.

IT’s ironic that by getting rid of a registration that says knob you’ve made yourself look a bit of a knob 😛

Fortunately I already owned it so it was a painless (free) decision :-)

Not in recent years but when my son was very young he used to name them based on the reg number……
    ULC = Uncle
NPE = Nippy (appropriate as it was a Golf GTI)

Recently got a new car and was devastated when the wife pointed out it said “knob” so had to go for a private plate :-(

My son bought a Merc from one of the online suppliers and it is absolutely spotless. The only issue was that he paid £25 to make sure it had some petrol in it on delivery but when they took it off the trailer it was bone dry, they refunded the money.
I recently purchased an Audi from a main dealer in the Midlands and that went smoothly. They did the usual video tour and it was as good as they said.
The only issue was they lied about about the V5 – there wasn’t one – and that took me 12 weeks to sort out due to the backlog in the DVLA.

And another Bosch here…..pretty good and does all I ask if it. Always on 50mm cut to help the grass survive dog/grandkids/drought.

When they were explaining the TG mission did anyone else think it sounded remarkably similar to the 622 squadron film?!!!

    633??

Can I offer myself as Minister for the Prosecution of Previous Lying/Incompetent Politicians?
You might be concerned this could clog up the legal system but I have a plan to bypass that………

Typical modern attitude……I can do whatever I want and always deny/lie my way out of it.
He should have taken up politics – he would have fitted right in.

Again according to the Bilstein website B4 & B6 are the same length and B8’s are shorter for lower springs. I think you need to ring Bilstein directly.

According to the Bilstien website B4’s are direct OE replacement parts and B6’s are uprated to give a sporty ride.
Given your requirements I’d avoid the B6’s.

Did my front door with Zinsser Bullseye about 4 years ago and it still looks very good. I actually went for Dulux external top coat and its south facing in full sun.

I used to work for a very large UK company and got involved in a case like this. I had to deliver a guys laptop to our security group for investigation and I remember them telling me that they accepted porn sites could be designed to inadvertently draw you in but the key was how long did it take you to close it down…..and did you revisit it.

The BBC states he was viewing in the Chamber AND in a Select Committee so that doesn’t sound like a one off error to me.

Is that a BDA in the Irish Escort? Those things just seem to rev for ever!

Pretty sure Frank Kelly uses a 2.5 litre Millington Diamond. Anything up to 355bhp for rallying.

I cant comment on Merc but my “local” Audi dedicated independent have a cracking reputation and their hourly rate is half the official dealer. They have access to the Audi online service system so the warranty is maintained.
If I think of all the different dealer chains I’ve used over the years there isn’t one that I would go back to.
My independent is 20 miles away and the dealer about 5 but the independent has courtesy cars so it’s not an issue.

Thin Lizzy at The Winning Post Whitton Middx. After Whisky in the Jar but before The Boys are back in Town so probably 74 or 75. Cost me £1.

We did. Father & son who did a cracking job on our conservatory (which is what you would hope for) but they also fitted a upvc window & door they weren’t supposed too plus repaired our side gate all while waiting for deliveries.

Another Hormann sectional here, really pleased with it. They are a bit spendy but we did it as part of an insurance claim so only had to pay the difference. Plus it makes a big difference when working out there in the winter.

It was slow then and will likely be slower without the slip as they write to the last keeper to give them a chance to object iirc.

My understanding is that if the dealer has placed the car “in trade” then its a straight forward process but if not then you are correct in that they write to the previous owner who has 14 days to respond.
Fortunately my car is “in trade” according to the DVLA.

Bought a car from a main dealer, V5 never turned up. Rang them to ask what was going on and he admitted they never had the logbook for that car. Only option is the V62.
    8 weeks later I’m still waiting…..

About 10 years ago my Peugeot 407 coupe needed one new tyre valve…..main dealer charged £270! I wrote to Peugeot UK and they refunded the lot (admittedly I pointed out the design was flawed).
Its the same old story, car manufacturers/dealers will charge whatever they feel the market will bear.

Because it adds around 1p/mile to running costs. £500 at 50k or 5 yr interval.

But that applies to any car with a belt not just VW’s. Personally I avoid belts and always look for timing chains but I’m old school and they may be fine nowadays.

    patagonian

VAG group Octavia/Leon/Golf (more mpgs, more faster, less reliable, timing belts)

Larger engines have timing chains not belts

Be careful…..insurance approved repairer quoted £1200 to staple/paint my bumper whereas the main dealer did a new replacement for just over £800. He said he can undercut the approved repairers everytime but the insurance companies still won’t send him any work.

Short journeys mean the condensation created internally wont be removed. I’d do a minor service (oil/fluids) rather than a major.

I’ve slowly fitted concrete spurs to all posts. Mostly reused the original posts that I’ve cut at the old ground level mark – most of the posts are 20+ years and still solid.
The advantage of spurs/wooden posts is I can replace a panel myself (even in bad weather) whereas I cant lift a panel into slotted posts.
