Yeah, cos this place is well known for it’s downhillers and dirt jumpers?

Thought I was sending him/her to somewhere he/she would get a more useful advice…

Now if he/she had asked what road bike…

push to unweight front, push forward. bring knees up to make space for rear wheel.
    basically

but are you not gripping the back peddle with you foot?

if that was the case why do they point there toes down?

Lifting the rear wheel during a proper bunnyhop is NOT done by scooping the rear wheel using the pedals. Certainly not for your normal height bunnyhop anyway. It’s nearly all done by pushing forward with the bars whilst unweighting the pedals to allow room for the rear to come up.

go watch any bmx/mtb street/trials footage. i agree you need to push the bars forward but you lift with your feet and pull your knees up. hence why i said i wasn’t as supple any more.

how do you get the back end up in the air if you’re on flats?

lift with your feet, toes pointed down.

    it’s all about practice,

on a good day, 2 ft on a hardtail about a foot on my full sus. used to be a bit higher but not something i practice anymore. not as supple as i was either.

joplin 4 here to, 1 year old ridden through the winter still works great. stripped re-greased 3 times (takes 5 mins) make sure you get the remote, you’ll be surprised how much you use it.

not for every one! if your riding is long climbs and then long downhills, it may not be for you.

yes, 2011 has a factory mod as standard. afaik it still has a hv can?

the turner forum is very helpful if you have any problems… just don’t upset the homers

had mine for a year and i’m very happy with it. using a offset shock bush at the moment. HA 67* bb 13.8/9
will try an offset head set headset at some point…

mine was set up with 15mm of sag, iirc turner recommend 17mm? i would use 90% of the travel getting rad dropping off a curb…

    pastcaring

NorthCountryBoy how much do you weigh?

one of my biggest complaints about the rp23, was that with the correct sag the shock would blow through its travel. dgc mod helped but it still wasn’t great.

    @backhander
rp23 didn’t work for me, (13.5 st) evan after doing the dgc shim mod. you may want to consider a lv sleeve for the rp23 instead of the hv one. the rp23 hv doesn’t seem to work for a lot of people over about 12 st. **** knows why turner kept speccing it, evan though it was a common complaint? i ended up getting a coil shock.

bike holds a line through the chunk/roots very well. i use a bos deville, maybe your 36 just needs to brake in a little.

    5 10 on a medium, inline post, 50mm stem. (also tried a 70mm stem)

the front gets a little light on the climbs, but works better on the downs/drops/jumps for me.

I am having this problem, I’m 5,10 and have borrowed a medium 5spot this weekend and it feels good.
I would like to try a large before making a decision.

i use a 50mm stem, but do like a compact feel rather than stretched out.

You’re assuming that the vast majority of stw users don’t think that the vast majority of other stw users are total cocks. If they do… then he might be onto something. There’s a fine line between idiocy and genius.

coverage isn’t as good but enclosure is greater making them sweatier.

i have both, the poc padded bit is a good 3rd bigger than the KS, both in length and width. the KS is an inch longer over all. the KS has more side padding than the poc. imo the poc raps around the knee better negating the need for the extra side padding. i agree they’re a bit sweatier. found the KS to pinch a little at the back of the knee, where the poc’s don’t.

had a big otb on a steep rock section at mt. creek. (where the US open is held) front wheel got jammed between two rocks and pole vaulted me into the air :D landed on one knee in the rocks from a long way up. the poc pads worked great and i was glad i had them on over the KS.

i guess it’s like most things, personal preference…
