The pushed 2010 200×50 would that be the one to have.

no you need a 190×50. give tft a call, they should be able to get you what you need.

these days my riding consist of as much single track as i can find, small jumps and drops no bigger than five foot to transition or two or three foot to flat (getting old)

my rp23 was my first air shock, on the turner it would blow through its travel far to easily. also suffered mid stroke wallow and never felt right, i tried the dcg shim mod, which helped but still wasn’t completely happy.
a push tune or maybe a smaller air can would of probably worked but i couldn’t be arsed **** about any more. brought a second hand shock from here a couple of weeks ago.
i’m still playing with set up but i’m very happy so far. bike feels like i have more grip at the back, no more wallow and i haven’t noticed the extra weight.

dw 5spot 190×50 09 onwards, don’t know for earlier models.

rp23 works for some but not for others. personally i’d go for a coil.

if you want jumps and berms then you probably need permission. if you want single track, just get out there with a rake, saw and Secateurs and make your own. then keep them a secret

i like my j4, they still wobble i little but can’t feel it while riding.

very easy to service, frequency of service will depend on where you ride.

I have spun 180 degrees when riding

lol i’ve done that, don’t know who was more scarred me or my mate following.

tried swampthings for the first time on monday. 42 front 60 rear work really well, evan when they broke away it was very predictable.

    Any Southerners ridden Bedgebury?

i rode bedgebury in the early summer, nothing really technical but ok for a few hours. has a nice cafe!

lots of stuff to ride a little further out around robertsbridge/battle muddy but mostly rideable. just stay away from the trails next to the rivers.

i would offer to show you around but my fitness sucks after missing most of the summer due to three smashed fingers…

mid stroke wallow, blows through it’s travel set up with the correct sag

This is more due to the damping setup, not the spring medium. I’m 200lbs.

I’d not know from experience, but apparently some of the air shocks with large air cans can be a bit too progressive for the larger rider, of those that ‘GO BIG!’, but it can still be controlled with a damping modification or reducing the air volume in the chamber.

i agree, a push tune would of helped as did the dcg mod, either way the shock needs more compression.
i found the shock far to linear with out the dcg mod. maybe i could of tried the smaller air can but managed to get a 2011 van rc very cheap…

push have released rs monarch rt/rt am and the monarch rt3. sounds very interesting with good feed back so far.

i’ve just ordered a van rc for my dw 5spot. i’ll be sending it to get tuned/pushed after i’ve worked out what needs doing.

the rp23 was my first air shock and probably my last. i just don’t like the feel of it, mid stroke wallow, blows through it’s travel set up with the correct sag. i’ve done the dcg mod which has made it usable. i’m 200 lbs
with kit. i don’t think the rp23 works very well for the bigger rider.

a pushed van r from tft looks a good buy…

do tyres with sparse knobs like this ever have *worse* grip than tyres with more concentrated knobs, if so in what terrain/conditions, and is it significantly worse?

open tread is better for mud/dust, closed tread is better for hard pack.

is the difference between single ply and dual simply a cost/durability trade off or is there more to it?

dp will be more durable less prone to side wall cuts/pinch flat, obviously heavier than sp

why does this tyre advise ‘race only – not for your local trail’ – is it for the tyre’s benefit (durability), the trail’s (erosion), or the rider’s (danger from less grip), or a mix?

    soft compound wares out quickly.

i have the poc knees pads. a little smaller than the 661 ks. only had one big off while wearing them (obviously not trying hard enough) left knee hit the ground first and i walked away. (crying cos i broke the brake lever on a borrowed bike)

geforce, what a good idea, thanks!

i use an old stem, bolt and topcap. fit the old stem loosely and hammer the bolt/topcap. the stem should keep it straight.
