+1 for montane terra. although if you want to do th dd bit of riding I would go for the terra alpine, they have a more tapered design.

although the ibex pant is a nice option… go for those if they fit nice.

I ride my frestyle board with no highbacks on muy binders and have done loads of riding down my local park in trainers, once you learn to not use the highbacks its pretty easy… don’t get me wrong you won’t be carving shit up but its possible and exceedingly good fun.

freestyle skiing just looks silly IMO… no steez.

And snowboarding was better when you all still hated us.

firetower trails at lochgilphead, better than doing nothing… Ben Lora just north of Oban has some very nice home made trails and is my venue of choice when I visit my folks…. also the FC have been working on some cycle routes but I doubt they’ve finished them. Barcaldine forest is also worth visit as is sutherlands grove for some easy riding.

other than that some new riding specs and a helmet.

depending on how long I’m going to be in the saddle is usually my deciding factor. I use both at cannock (at different times) but I don’t think I’d want to do more than cannock on the HT as it leaves me a bit broken.. and its setup 1×9 which is probably more of a deciding factor.

I haven’t ridden many designated trail centres but fire tower trails in Argyll wasn’t great, lots of fire road and not very much singletrack.

People who have been to both, is llandegla worth the trip from Brum in this nasty weather we’re having or should I just stick to Cannock?

I remember going to see Aphex Twin at Q Club in brum quite a few years back… Amazing set.

He had two 20 foot dancing bears on stage and Dj’d his whole set with a massive cut out of his own face strapped to his face.

Was at Cannock yesterday and I forgot my helmet, I rode teh dog anyway… About half way round some dude in head to toe blue fox outfit came past saying ‘no helmet thats bloody stupid’ alas he was far too good for me to catch up to ask what business it was of his…
