Is the tallboy really the only choice as a 29er FS?

No, all the big manufactuers have at least one, do you live in a cave?

Flat pedals are for crap riders who are scared of not being able to bail quickly

I ride on the road with significantly more than 500, but I have pish night vision and wet roads soak up light big style.

Looks like lack of maintenance, how often did you service them?

I’d just replace the seals and run them till they died.

Beautiful and refreshingly different but i always think Thomson kit looks out of place on a road bike.

You have indeed got a very serious and expensive bike habit!

These threads are priceless, all the shortarses with small man syndrome get all shouty about 29ers as they know there are too vertically challenged to enjoy the benefits of big wheels

Ti456 and Scandal 29er are different styles of bike though, so not really a fair 26/29 comparison

Dogs are unpredictable and shouldn’t be off the leash where they could cause accident or injury, no matter how well trained they are. You wouldnt take your mutt on a road ride so why take it to a trail centre FFS.

    Why?

Shimano HT2 BBs can be had for a tenner and last for ages.

Agree with khani, road bike for sure, they will have spotted all the road threads on STW and decided to tap into the market.

I presume that we are looking at a carbon Five

Ah, the classifieds will soon be awash with nearly new 5’s as the trail centre brigade spaff their IT wages on the latest must have version.

It must be tricky for Scottish people who are into cycling – coping with staying balanced on the bike with that enormous chip on their shoulder.

Judging by some of the contributions to this thread, it is our southern neighbours who possess the shoulder chips

Because it’s all marketing bollocks and the bike companies know it’s harder to bluff a clown than it is a mountain biker

Stu- Sounds to me like you haven’t rode much of the quantocks, but I’m probably wrong. I reckon you like your niche bulls**t by following the latest fad, but I’m probably wrong! Anyway you have kept me entertained for the day. Each to their own.

    What a fud

Does this relate to rear qr skewers also?, it seems that Orange 5 owners are always spaffing on about how the rear of their bikes are x times stiffer with the must have Maxle upgrade.

However, I will always, always take Good Game down as the last descent rather than the traditional red/black last section.

WTF?? You miss the joys of Falla Brae to go down that smoothed out pish!
