Will take some pics soon. Yep no beachy type areas to get in unfortunately..

I was rushing and a bit flustered, with the audience and all lol. I got out, said to the guy well that was worth waiting for eh.

Been watching a few vids on technique, like these two for a start –

So I took my new kayak on it’s first voyage today….

First nice sunny day in a while so was quite a few people around including a guy and his young son – “lets wait and watch this guy get in his kayak” I heard…

Put it in the water, stepped in, toppled over and took a dive into the water. Dragged myself out, dragged the kayak out, put it back on the car and went home.

Lesson learnt – learn how to get in a kayak from a dock!

Bugger! Going to have another go on Monday.

So I bought the Traxxas Rustler. It’s here and looking good. It comes with their 7 cell nimh battery. I have a nice 2s lipo coming for it. Will try that for a while before thinking about the 3s lipo which supposedly makes it crazy fast and hard to control.

Also got a wheelie bar and tried to order rpm wide front bumper but first two places I ordered from, both of which said “in stock” actualy didn’t have them in.

Now thinking about body post mounts. It came with white washers to put on top? of the post mounts although some use them underneath, or both. Seems damage to the body often occurs around these mounts.
May go for the rpm snap tite body savers if I can find them.
Anyone using these or something else?

I used to use virosol. It has a ph 11+ so just don’t let it sit on ano’d alu for too long…
The evans apeel stuff is neutral ph but doesnt seem to work quite as well as the virosol. Good enough though.

I loved W7. Built a new machine, skylake 6700k, gtx 980ti, m.2 hard drive etc and fresh install of W10.
It’s not too bad so far. Main reason with not sticking with W7 was DX12. No DX12 for W7 and it’s supposed to give 10-15% performance increase with gaming.

Turned off as much spying stuff as I could and only have a local account, not a MS one which annoyingly you need for the inbuilt skype stuff. Just install the standalone skype instead.

I have a Sony z3. Even though you cant uninstall all that crap, if you hit disable, it removes most of it freeing up space.

After, if you look in apps in the settings and swipe left a few times you can see all the stuff you disabled in case you want to re-enable any of it.

On the road I have my lights on lowest setting of 5. Still get flashed by cars sometimes..

I do pity the poor dog walker who gets the full 5000 lumens in the woods though. Had a runner jump off a fire road thinking a landy with its full beams on was coming towards her :D

Astra platinum most of the time. Good for 2-3 shaves.
Feathers, rarely, but expect to be leaking some claret. (must get a alum block/ styptic pencil). Only good for 1-2 saves i found.

Lol, so I saw the first reply and assumed there wern’t many of you on here!

Yep general pootling, no whitewater, 3-day excursions etc. Mainly the odd few hours on the canal I would imagine.

Still fancy my original choice and the Pyranha ones look very similar so those too. 3m seems about the right size. A spray deck should help with paddle dribble and generally getting wet right? A backrest sounds like something I would like too hence the not sit-on-top types.

Basingstoke canal around here has quite a few locks so would be hauling it out quite often.

Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions chaps. Will have a ponder and maybe see if there is a shop around here to look at a few.

Thanks. That one is a bit long at 5m and a bit too expensive. Just need something for gentle pootles really. Keeping my eye on evilbay as they seem like the kind of thing people buy on a whim (like me) and then never use again lol.

Anyone else partake in a bit of kayaking?

    Bear traps.

OMG they still sell them – http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/wellgo-bear-trap-platform-953-flat-pedals/rp-prod5207?gs=1&gclid=CNaFhvSHm8gCFRNmGwodp38LPQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

My brother has a lifelong tribute to them right across his shin (like a big smile)

The park tools one. I used to use Virasol with it but it has a ph of 11, quite alkaline, enough to strip anodising… Now use it with more neutral citrus degreaser – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Evans-Vanodine-Multi-Purpose-Cleaner-Degreaser/dp/B009KMRRPK

Ghosties in the park LOL. I remember those, just leap of the back at full chat yes? preferably towards your mate, see how far it gets before falling over snapping a brake lever etc. Good old days :D

DJI Phantom 2. I’ve had one for a few months, motorized gimbal that takes a gopro (or get the vision/vision+ if you don’t want/have a gopro).

    It’s fooking great!

One was last seen flying an albanian flag over the serbia/albania match the other day.

Oh, a bit more than £30 though..

Thanks all. It’s a Giant Reign. Yep the ol’ shimano 10 speed mech with 9 speed sram shifter bodge. Don’t want a chain guide.

New xt shad+ mech is £39, whole 10 speed setup is a LOT more..
A bit concerned now that some of you say it didn’t make any difference to chain slap but most seem to say it does..

Oh well, I guess if It doesn’t work out I can always just sell it.
Just wanted to check if it should work with 3x up front. Looks like it should.

    Cheers STW hive mind.

I had a minion 2.5 exo that was bad. Refitted it several times, bead was seated perfectly all the way round. No amount of pushing pulling etc would fix it. Eventually returned it. The new one was fine..

At a guess I would think you have to remove one of the rubber seals, carefully with a dental pic or edge of a razor blade. Prob a good idea to completely clean the bearings with degreaser, then repack/squirt in the grease and put seal back on.
