Nope. Was promised an apocalyptic all day/night thunderstorm extravaganza but got bugger all, bit of drizzle. I’ve been robbed!

They removed the “remember me” box due to some problem. They are working on it apparently.

Re-installed FSX last night. Quickie from Gatwick to Malaga in a 737. Forgot just how many controls there are!

Signed up to the insider program. Thanks.

Would love a go on a proper sim Flaperon!!

kin love a good flight sim. After putting in hundreds of hours on ms flight sim in the past I reckon i’d have a good shot at safely bringing in a passenger jet if the pilot/copilot suddenly died on a flight. The new one due next year looks amazing. better start saving for an rtx 2180ti!

I think you may be somewhat overestimating the ease with which an F1 car can be controlled on grass when it’s just lost traction under braking and is slewing sideways.

I’m sure burying your foot on the gas is going to help you control it on the grass…

Because they are not permitted to do that. Having found that an offence had been committed, they were required to impose a penalty.

I mean Ferrari not the stewards. If they had done so i’m sure the stewards would have let it ride.

Vettel kept his foot in across the grass knowing full well what he was doing. The clever choice after the incident would be to let Lewis through but they didn’t.

What irks me more is the fact ferrari didn’t tell Leclerc that Seb had a five second penalty. He was going much faster at this stage and i’m sure would have got under the 5 seconds on the last lap. He stopped pushing so much as he thought the race was done. Once again Ferrari stitched him up like a kipper.

I hope Sebs ridiculous behaviour after the race earns him a massive fine or something. Pathetic and childish.

Thanks. Good finds. With postage they are £4.50 and £5.50 so not too bad. I knew they had to be out there somewhere. Googlefu failed me.. Just wanted to make sure they were available as I know they wouldn’t be when I’d actually need them so would order a set or two at same time as getting the lid.

Thanks all. Looks like i’ll just have to put up with them. It does have compressionless outers. Will cost a bloody fortune to replace everything to get proper hydros on there. I will have a play with them.

Looks like the inner pad is fixed and the outer seems to bend the disc over quite a lot so ill adjust the inner as close as possible. They a very firm/not much lever throw so will try backing the outer pad out a bit to get more lever throw. I ride mostly on the hoods so obviously not the leverage you get on the drops but they seem utterly shite.

Thanks djflexure but not sure what those are. mtb shifting?

Anyone got shimano sora r317 mechanical calipers? Don’t know why they don’t come with these as the rest is sora. I guess they won’t be much better but who knows.

Or better mechanical brakes? Avid bb7?

Further to the cable activated hydros, anyone got the trp hy/rd? any good? I’m reading good and bad reports about them.

Just adjust the front derailleur with the barrel adjuster until it stops doing it. Do it on the fly if you have a barrel adjuster at the shifter.

@fossy Indeed! It’s maxed out our low range geiger counter so we’ll offer that reading as the amount of radiation around instead of getting the higher range one out. Eventually they fetch the higher range one and oh it must be broken… ffs there was lumps of burning graphite in the car park!

Watched the first episode last night, as said, chilling. Went to download the rest of the series and it looks like i’ll have to wait until the next episode is on!! What the hell, not good enough!

Found the english accents a bit odd at first but it’s fine. Well worth watching.

Thanks chaps. My light does have an elliptical beam for road use. It’s only 450 lumens though (unlike the 8000 on my mountain bike). https://www.knog.com.au/pwr-rider.html?___store=knogcomau
It came with the bike. Trouble is, when I aim it high enough to see further than 4ft in front of me, i get flashed by cars. Obviously the cutoff isn’t great. Need to find something better. Riding at 30mph+ down a hill in the dark is scary when you cant see too well.

I’ll probably try some bigger tyres/lower pressures. How people get around on 23c with 100psi+ in them I don’t know. I’m beginning to learn where some of the potholes are but there’s so many.. Anyone know what size tyres I can squeeze on a specialized diverge A1 sport 2017?

I don’t ride in the gutter, every dipped drain cover soon stops that and like you say better to have another way to turn than into the traffic. I’ve bunny hopped a few potholes when I catch them late.

I don’t remember the roads being like this when I had a “racer” as a kid!

Yeh last time I saw the camera going off at that stage it ended in failure. Watching the first two land side by side was pretty cool.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve already seen half of them but a few new ones to look at. I had hoped it was stuffed full of new great stuff but doesn’t seem to be the case.

Thanks for the fang details Stumpy. Let us know how you get on with it.

No, I didn’t print a y-axis brace for that stepper. I can see what you are talking about and it’s seems plausible. Will see how it goes, they only cost a cpl of quid so if it breaks ill get another or two and go with the brace.

That control box fan thing was what I was looking at too. Would be nice if it actually screwed to the box, I think the box just sits on top. There’s a remix which addresses this but it’s a one part print which is too big to print on our beds I think. I’ll probably just go with the first one.

Nice Stumpy. Where’s the second fan? Do you have the link for it? Is it from this? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2759439
Which of the files did you need? Thanks.
I put stepper dampers on the other day. Still prints fine, quieter now obvs. Really need to sort the control box fans now, they are the next loudest bit!

Thanks zilog6128. Is that Polyalchemy Elixir Gold Rush? Looks good.

Thanks. Not too bothered about messing with raspberries and pies at the moment ;) Just not sure which cheap ip cam to get. As always there’s good and bad comments about them all on amazon.
At the moment i use a webcam connected to my pc using yawcam but id rather not have to have my pc running. I’ll just take a pot shot on one probably.

I’ve been trying to source the cc3d filament but not much joy in the UK. The polyalchemy stuff looks pretty nice but pricey! The Polyalchemy merlot looks very nice and the silver and the purple rain. Got any pics of something you printed with it?

Anyone use a cheap ip cam for monitoring? What you got? Same question for wifi plug.

Love the look of some of these silk/satin filaments, gold etc. Any recommendations?

Stumpy, let us know how you get on with the control box fan replacements, i’m thinking of doing the same thing and it’s hard deciding which fan setup to go with. Also thinking about the stepper dampeners but don’t want to lose any detail/accuracy.

It’s hard choosing a fang too. The one i have uses the existing fans but i think maybe one with a 5015 blower for the part cooling and a 4020 heatbreak fan might be the way to go.. although I’m not sure on adding extra weight to the x carriage, surely it’s not good?

STRONGLY suggest not getting trustfire batts. They are nowhere near stated capacity and quite possibly dangerous.

    couple of recent pics..

    Love a good first layer

    Wine bottle holder

It sits on a base not in shot.

I just use a mirror, no glue/hairspray etc. Pops off itself when it cools down.

Screwfix stuff has a ph of 12. Don’t leave it long on anodized aluminium, it will strip it in minutes.

There’s phone apps that do it. Not much from UK but plenty from US where ham radio guys relay everything they pickup. If there’s an incident (mass shooting) you can listen to the local fuzz, it gets pretty manic at times.

You should do less shaves with each blade. I typically only do 2 or 3 from an astra blade. Usually two if ive left it for ages, three if ive been keeping up with shaving.. Id never go to 5 or turn it over. Blades are dirt cheap.

Caught this again last night. It’s one of the worst programs I’ve ever seen.

Why give them so short a time to make it? Give them 3 months if that’s what it takes. Terrible, just terrible. Was quite looking forward to seeing some great model railways but it’s not going to happen.

Whoever thought up the format and presenters needs hoofing in the slats. It could have had potential but sadly it’s truly rubbish. I is disappoint.

No-one’s mentioned it yet but – styptic pencil.

*edit* especially if you go for the feather blades. Astra platinum work well for me.

Thanks all. Not a hoover, check. LG seems good..

Have thought about repairing it, it’s the bearings, rumbles like a goodun especially during the spin. I may take it apart to have a look but really cba to do it. Would like a Miele but no authorisation to spend so much!

Phone them. Tell them about it and from your research its sorted with SH3. Start muttering sky broadband etc etc. New SH3 should be with you in a few days.
