post deleted – far too negative

If you don’t like something either take steps to change it or stop moaning. I’m stopping moaning. (for a few minutes anyway)

Just before Christmas, the wife of a mate of mine was crossing the road at some lights in Manc city centre. An uninsured driver went through on red, mowed her down and drove away. She died the day after.

They have a 1 year old boy who, due to the actions of this rodent, will never know his mother.

Thankfully tthe police caught the driver.

IMHO – after spending a long time in prison, the **** should never be allowed to drive again.

But what we was thinking was to have him travel with us on my lap and not on his own to a church or something then at the end what we wanted was family friends etc etc to write on a card to which we would tie to a balloon and once the funeral had finished we would let Alfie/Mae release them in hope that once they pop people may find one and find out about george….

    a nice thing to do

now in tears at my desk in the middle of an office

Often it’s a symbol of skewed fiscal priorities and debt. I find it odd that many people on ‘average’ salaries borrow to buy depreciating assets that cost more than their yearly income, but then it’s their money and if it makes them feel good about themselves as they sit in traffic then I guess it’s a harmless pursuit of vanity.

we have a 2 and 5 year old…great kids, completely normal but it’s ****ing mental at times.

It’s virtually impossible to have a conversation with the mrs when they are there and now the older one is in school, being tied to fixed school holidays is a complete pain.

Appears to be a case of doing what gives him the best shot at winning the next election rather than what would be the best thing to do for the country.

Yep – all about keeping bigoted little back benchers and UKIP supporters onside.

I consider his announcement a bad thing as it creates uncertainty, which is exactly not what we need in a time of economic difficulty.

I think the situation for young people can be quite grim, few decent jobs, expensive to get into education, thousands are NEETs.

Some people have fairly grims lives as well….fancy working 50 hours per week in a chicken processing factory for min wage?? I’m suprised more people don’t top themselves.

I had an “Attack Trail” (nice name) back in the day, which fell to bits quite quickly.

When I protested to the importer, ATB sales, they said effectively I was using it too much, I quote word for word Grant from ATB Sales:

“some of ours customers only ride their bikes once a month”

And apparently after a dirty ride in the peak district I should

    “wipe it with a cloth”.

    Ace.

I broke 3 swing arms and one frame, the wheels fell to bits in 3 rides, as did tghe replacements.

    Good other than that though.

It takes us 3 hours to get out of the house at home, I cannot imagine what this would be like on a skiing holiday.

I’d need a big bag of beta blockers.

I liked LWD and LWR, but the more recent stuff has been a bit to chan 5 for me and a bit like watching someones holiday video.

The Post Office – once this generation of pensioners is gone, I can’t see it lasting on the high street. Pain in the ****ing arse going in there.

Same for Marks & Spencer. I went in for the first time in years to buy some socks. Their stock of clothing in the trafford centre store appeared not to have changed in all those years. I think they must just dust it every few days. I imagined everything was free and I could just take what I wanted….still nothing.

PC world – overpriced computing equipment filled with **** preinstalled software. Oh yes please.

GAP – just wear anything from GAP you have in the wardrobe at home and it will be exactly the same as their current stock.

Its truly amazing HMV lasted so long as it was THE place to go to if you wanted to pay 30% more for stuff readily available from other shops and online.

Paid for News Papers printed the previous day??? Awesome. I mean why just look at the computer/phone when you can walk to the shop, pay money for something, get dirty hands reading it and then have a pile of paper to get rid of.

I’m sorry – but £6 for a bike magazine???? Surely only for those new to the sport who need advice.

You park some distance away from the accomodation, which is good as it makes it car free, but also makes it a hassle to escape the camp.

I wouldn’t take anything good bike wise, just something to pedal around on with the kids.

I’ve been to the one in Penrith for the weekend.

    Some people like it…I didn’t.

    Good: pool, car free, wildlife

Bad: only biking is as transport to get around the site, food expensive and poor, activities expensive and average. Trapped in holiday camp feel.

It’s like an outdoor weekend for people who don’t normally do that kind of thing. I would rather book a cottage in the lakes.

The best thing we did was a picnic on the side of Ulswater on the way home. I wouldn’t go again.

I think Wiggins is clean based purely upon what I’ve seen in the media.

What exactly does clean mean? Not breaking the rules or law?

I don’t think it’s quite black and white. As a very crude example, a rider 1 mg below the caffeine limit is clean and 1 mg over a doper?

It would not surprise me if Sky, with their approach to marginal gains, have thoroughly looked into what they can get away with to improve performance and remain inside the law.

The last MP (labour) for Bury North was one of the worst in the expenses scandal.

He was replaced by the worst type of Tory spiv. The very 1st thing he did was try and overturn the smoking in pubs ban.

Both live in the area. Both ****s.

Think I did 3 hours on the spin bike once, but you need something to watch to last anywhere near that long.

When I had a turbo in the garage and just music as a distraction, time would pass at 1/3 speed an hour was about the most I ever managed.

You should try being a supplier and see how you get treated by a number of prospects (and sometimes clients).

We in trun have clients, so I know that. The difference is, the suppiers want something from us (work) and usually the best way to get this isn’t by being difficult and rude. Is that not basic sales?

    well said brooess

If I’d accepted invites to all the doos over the past 2 months, eaten everything offered, started drinking again and didn’t cycle 3 times per week…none of which is excessive, I’d certainly be much heavier.

Literally as I type this, I should be attending a “Coffee and Doughnuts” session with the MD. FFS.

Some of it comes as presents

most is offered on arrival or during visits.

The kids are under 5, so will say yes to it galdly.

The mrs is too polite, so it’s just me that says no thanks, then everyone turns on me as the grumpy bad person.

None of them are fat, but the kids are not getting enough exercise at the moment (another story) and they are eating rubbish almost every day. I don’t want them to live like monks and like chocolate myself, but the amounts in question are excessive. Me and the Mrs have had quite a few arguements about it.

I believe Wiggins and Evans both won the TDF clean. LA coming out of the woodwork is not good for cycling.

As Pat M said (far to late and after years of what could be politely described as inaction by UCI) “Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling”.
