Now this is amazing, makes me a minor celeb by association and me and him mates…

I was once retweeted by Ewan McGregor.

Apparently, Pete Docherty used to anonymously frequent Libertines fan forums.

Can’t see him doing much mountain biking though…hello Pete if you are reading this.

I stopped using them years ago after being sent the wrong items at no extra cost along with being a bit arsey.

Could be taken as slightly patronising, but the head of the housing association in question was on radio 4 this morning and said it was included with another 5 pages of advice on how to manage £.

If things are that tight, maybe some people need it pointing out they may have to do without certain non-essentials or risk losing their home. BUT I’m sure there are many more families who are facing this scenario and can’t cut back anymore – it is these people I feel sorry for.

IMHO it’s fairly normal for a Tory government to target the most vulnerable in society and unfortunately this advice will be used to further cultivate the image of ‘benefit scroungers’.

Cheers for the advice and views.

To reiterate, I’m not looking to profit from this or get the guy nicked. Surprisingly, no damage to my kit or bike.

BUT I will report it to the cops to get it logged in case the sore bits get sorerer and/or there is some damage to the bike that I didn’t notice last night. It’s my old P7 hack bike with Kona project 2 forks, weighs a ton but came off better than the door of his Peugeot.

    Thanks again.

gore phantom has zip off arms, which you can zip part way open to act as vents.

I’ve had one of these for a couple of years and it’s ace.

Not read all of this, but if there are grounds for the police to claim against anyone, surely it is the person stealing the car. There has been no negligence on the part of the car owner, so I cannot see how they could be held legally responsible when someone has taken the car without the owner’s permission.

Working as little as possible and spending that time with our young family or cycling makes me happy and content.

Being self employed helps, in that I can (to a degree) work as much/little as is required.

Cheers for the tips and invites chaps. I live in Ramsbottom, so was looking for something with rides starting close to home so I don’t have to use the car.

Jason – cheers for the info…I may pop along one Sunday soon.

Pretty much all UK ones are miserable. Much prefer the French ones; it’s entirely possible there to have a good meal for a reasonable price unlike 8 quid for beans on toast in one British one.

    ^^this

The French ones often have a nice grassed area where you can actually have a pleasant sit down with the family.

UK service stations – Everything is super expensive and they are full of slow walkers…it’s like land of the undead.

and I think a chunk goes to charity.

I’d check that. SOME appear to be connected with charties, but in fact they only encourage you to get sponsorship and none of your entry fee goes that way.

    £350 for 4 days?

we’ve just booked 10 days in a hotel in Northern Majorca that got Trip Adviser Family Hotel of the year award. With flights and transfers it didn’t cost much more than that.

The cost of many school trips seems high to me. The cost of some school ski trips that invole travelling by coach to some resort you’ve never heard of and stopping in a hostel seems in many cases to be as much as booking a proper trip at full brochure price.

I used to own a focus and have had lots of previous model mondeos as hire cars in the past and liked all of them.

However, I think the build quality on fords had really dropped off in recent years. I had a brand new smax as a hire car the other day, ****ing terrible car. It was impossible to change the heater settings without taking my eyes off the road, trapped my fingers in the stupid aircraft throttle style hand brake and I struggled to get fuel in through the cap-less fuel addition point/hole.

Homosexuality used to be illegal. When it was decriminalised, did everyone think “I reckon I’ll give that bumming a go, now its got the official thumbs up”

I know as soon as the vote was passed in the commons and it got written into UK law, I took that to mean it was actively encouraged by the democratically elected members of parliament, so went straight down the local HGV cafe and got me some diesel, tobacco and bacon scented action.

Since when have the Tories fought for the rights of poor people who drink responsibly??

They’ve caved in to drinks industry lobbyists and put £ before protecting society (both drinkers and people in contact with drinkers).

Wiggle Cheshire Cat 2013 is now closed for entries. 3,600 riders

…get changed in a sports hall, ride on public roads, get free energy products that the organisers probably got for free and get a time at the end of it.

A gpx of the route is free to anyone on the website, yet they still got 3600 riders paying up to £34 to enter!!

    Well done Kilotogo – keerrrrrching.

They can’t stop you riding the route, but my view is if everyone did this it would end up in chaos.

Just get a gpx of the route an do it yourself on a different day.

Most trail centre are in woods for the above mentioned reasons.

Lee and Cragg Quarry are fairly unique in that they are, as the name suggests, in a Quarry.

Riding both Lee and Cragg make a good day out, there is aslo an exceelnt race series held there:

most normal 18 year old lads are like this are they not?

take him on a tour of the worst estate you can think of and tell him working/studying may be dull, but not quite as bad as living there, which is what he’ll be doing if he doesn’t pull his finger out.

Following advice gratefully received, I can now access the router settings using the default UN and PW.

Solution to the problem was to clear history, cookies and temp internet files from IE. The router will now let me login without problems.

    Thanks for your help!

Back in my horrible drinking days, I went on a bitter and pickled egg binge the evening before an easyjet flight for a biking holiday in spain. I let rip so badly that the oxygen masks fell down and the woman behind (who was trapped in a window seat) had a coughing fit that ruined her holiday to the extend the insurance paid out compensation.

    it’s a dsl-2740R

yes – i’m def connecting to the internet via my own router both via wifi and cable from a desk top
sticker on the bottom of it says admin/admin for login deatils. I have also tried admin/[blank]
There is a firmware update but I can’t install it as you need to login to the router to do this.
I’ve put a request in to their support but not heard back yet.

will try another browser when I get home tonight. Like I say, I can access the internet with it and the wireless is really good all around the house, just that i don’t like not being able to access it to change settings.

One other interesting point: the previous router was always visible under “my network places”, but this is not the case with the new d-link, which is only visible sometimes. This has no baring on interrnet performance or ability to login to the router.

wee ride here…both my kids loved it. They can see whats going on rather than looking up your ass, plus all above mentioned points.

Found it better with flats as u can get your legs a bit wider.
