I think the original post is bang on, fork choice is one of the hardest to make for bike components.

Bombers were rock solid up to about 3 years ago. I have two sets, 10 years old and 4ish years old, both run very well to this day and are better than any pair of RS I have ever tried (Pike, SID, Pyslo, Reba, Rekon etc). I know some people love this brand but I find the performance horrid and they seem to go for bollocks like u-turn flight control pop loc bells and whistles, but miss things like spring preload, which is one of the most basic and important adjustments on a fork. The seals on several models are just not suitable for UK use.

Last year I was after some 160mm travel forks for a heckler, it was a tough choice between Fox 36 and Magua Wotans. I went for the latter and while they have been very stiff/plush, there have been a few minor niggles. Fox seem to have improved the reliablity this year and I’d prob go for 36 floats if I could now.

what u have suggested is almost as bad as not having the logo on tyres lined up with the valve

now switch off the PC and birch yourself for an hour in the garden

I can ride to Lee Quarry from my house and it’s only just worth doing that at the moment. It has excellent potential and they have done some great work up there but it’s a quarry, only just up and running and nothing like the more well known trail centres. Do not drive all the way from London to do it.

As a slight thread hijack – they have a race series planned and IMHO it’s not the best venue, mainly due to the number of places where a mistake could result in someone falling of some big drops (as in cliffs or a steep bank to tumble down followed by a fall off a cliff).

Every fox fork I’ve evry ridden feels much better than every RS fork I’ve ever ridden.

dogtag are well marketed, then hand u over to a really bad claims handling firm if u make a claim and I had to threaten legal action before they would pay out on a straight forward and fully supported claim.

    don’t touch them

The frame looks like an early cannondale full suss and much more heavy duty than the swing arm, sorry. It’s how it rides thought, right?

A top event, well done lads for arranging it all.

Weather was perfect for this time of year.

The brass band was a nice touch – can you play a euphonium whilst wearing gloves?

Roll call even – I’d just got up.

I wrote “bare responsibility” at work the other day, when someone said it’s “bear”, I thought that was just a big hairy thing. D’oh.

Although it may sound like I’m prejudging him on his personal life, I honestly feel it’s none of my business. What grates is when he tries to make a point becuase I want to get home to see my daughter before she goes to bed and refuse to drive to work at 2pm on a sunday afternoon to stay over in case it snows overnight when I can work perfectly well from home.

I think if you have most of the following..

    Long commute
    Long hours/hard job
    Young family
    Partner/wife
    Requirement for business travel

It can be very hard. The lack of spare time gets to a point where it’s either have no rest at all or do sport. I’m almost there now and hence am looking for a job closer to home.

That said, jogging is a good place to start as it’s very time efficient.

    Project manager in nuclear industry.

That 45 million year half life is keeping us ticking along nicely.

I personnaly can’t stand work and could keep myself very busy without it thanks all the same. I envy people who say they enjoy their work but wonder if they are being totally honest. If they didn’t get paid for it would they still do it? I mean, I can tolerate it at best, but there are 101 things I’d rather be doing.

with a small amount of phaffing, I found that the problematic big plastic buckle on the back just keeps the loose end captive and so can be taken off. They seem much better now as the front clip is very low profile and dosn’t look like it will dig in, plus they are still adjustable.

Sorted (I hope, if not they’ll be getting stiched by mrs papa_lazarou)

cheers for the tips form those above and I hope mine helps with yours.

Does anyone who isn’t Jewish or reliant on jews for political influence actually support Israel?

Dr J is bang on there – the way israel is behaving at the moment is making the whole world hate them.

When I watch the news I find myself longing for someone to fight back against Israel.

Not only their aggression, but their arrogance in the aftermath will hopefully bring down on it the retaliation it deserves.

The UN should start holding back on Iranian nuclear inspections.

” heard there great from a number of people but to check stock, which i did on the magura brakes i wanted to order they didn’t have them in stock. “

I had exactly the same experience – not great

The Israelis are right to act against the missile attacks from Gaza but their response is totally disproportionate.

I’ve just watched footage on the news of the hundreds of Palestinian civilian casualties and it made me think that it’s really not that surprising that much of the world hates Israel (and to an extent, by proxy the US)
