in contrast to most hope stuff, the hed doc is a complicated solution to a simple problem that has an otherwise obvious cheap/effective fix.

Just put it back in the tool box a knock a star nut in.

I've done two HTN winter sprinters and they were great. I love local grass roots racing and would do the summer one except we are having our 2nd baby in about 2 weeks and even I don't think I could get a pass out a few weekends after to do the race.

Don't listen to the moaners, how many of them are organising anything?

Good luck with the event, I hope it comes off.

{I'll put something on my facebook as well)

Didsbury is fine if you want to go out on the lash and for people who want to be able to say they live in Didsbury. As a result it's awash with new flats. Chorlton is, apparently, the 'new didsbury'. I've lived in both places for at least a year each, more crime than I experienced living in rough parts of Liverpool when at uni and your car insurance will be higher than many other nicer areas of Manchester for good reason. House prices are high and IMHO do not equate to a better quality of life in this area. There are however, lots of nice looking young ladies in the metropolitan on a sat night, hence the extra £1 totty tax on the price of a pint.

[rant] does anyone actually think England have even the slightest chance of winning?

Not into football, but I used to support England and quite liked the world cup. But with a team made up mainly of absolute tossers who just think they can do anything they want and everyone will still worship them, I'd really rather support some non-league hockey team made up of people who make sacrifices for their sport rather than just expect the world on a plate. Wayne rooney is a dreadful roll model for young lads and the likes of ashley cole…etc etc [/rant]

Ramsbottom/Rawtenstall area is where I am and quite good. Just off M'way but ace riding from the door.

Also consider Howich, Rivington on the doorstep and just off M61 for shooting up to the lakes.

Since I've moved up here I hardly ever ride the peaks as the riding round here is almost as good and it's easier to get to south lakes.

are taxi drivers the new truck drivers?

I liked the letter in Viz – "we at the hauliers assocaition welcome the recent reduction in fuel VAT, however, these measures simply don't go far enough. We still have to pay the full 17.5% on the carpets we use to wrap our victims before dumping their bodies in laybys"

me – first time – weekend worrior class. Looking foward to it!

I note course opens for preride at 9.30, but starters are asked to be ready at 9.50, does that allow time for a slow practice lap? Also, is there anywhere near the start line i can leave a small bag of stuff?

OP – negligence of one party directly resulted in death of another, yet negligent party only get 240 hours CS. Unprecedented in every other legal scenario except those where a cyclist has been killed.

Once you get on that bike folks your life is not worth much more than a dog's.

"The economy is already well and truly cocked." For the tories to try and blame Labour for this is a joke – it's called a global recession.

If I recall correctly, Dave & co voted against bailing out the banks and privatising Northern Rock and if they’d got there way, we’d all be well and truly f**ked. Most countries are in trouble at the moment, but like Brown or not, we are in a better situation due to his strategy.

It’s come down to political X-Factor. Brown has come across in the TV debates like a rather stuffy accountant, but there is substance to his words. Unlike Cameron who is highly polished but just talks spiel cut/pasted straight from The Daily Mail.

Question: How will you cap immigration from within the EU, as that’s illegal?

Dave: The issue is fairness for hard working families.

Question: No, how will you cap it and what will it be?

Dave: We’ll scrap the jobs tax and reincarnate Princess Diana

Question: What’s number you’ll allow in?

Dave: A free DVD of Midsummer Murders for all Tory Voters

I’m bemused by the way the BNP always try to link themselves in some way with WW2 veterans and leaders who spent the war fighting fascists.

sex pistols at the free trade hall was the catalyst for the manchester music scene, for that we should be thankful to MM (with the exception that Simply Red also came of it).

To an extent, I agree with the comments about the new trail cut into the quarry near cowpe moss. I always liked to ride up there and it does seem they have gone a bit overboard as it appears they have avoided using any of the already quite good features.

the website official website for lee quarry could do with keeping up to date, this forum seems to be the only place to actually find out whats happening.

great event again lads, cheers for putting obvious amounts of effort into organising it all.

Thats me being assaulted by marshal Brant…

I had just lobbed a load of mud at him in return for the above mentioned "words of encouragemant" after an off.

Cheers to Ed-O for the push start again!
