there are websites and dealers for this type of thing.

Some of our local antique shops have military sections, so may be worth enquiries along those lines, but check the websites first so u have an idea of price.

I’ve been on a similar grad scheme and have had the following experiences:

1. When asked to do placements, they always paid expenses. As stated above, how can they expect you to run two homes and cover the additional cost of working away from your normal office.

2. They asked me to do an overseas placement at a time that didn’t suit me personally (ie: right through summer and I’d just met a fine lass, with whom I now have two fine children). I just said no, sorry I’m not going and told them why.

My advice is stand firm and do not cave in. If they try and bully you into it, you still stand firm and think about if you really want to work for such a firm.

IMHO – the RC Church is not fit to exist and certainly not preach about homosexuality, women and anything remotely connected with moral values.

I hate shoppiong but find TK Maxx ok when quiet and I have plenty of time. Easy to get whole piles of stuff and try it on to see what looks ok, without being hassled by sales people. Also you don’t see every man and their dog wearing it, as per next etc.

AND…a change to a European style system of protecting cyclists would not give them carte blanche to ride without care, just make drivers increasingly cautious.

My problem with all of this is the comparison with other situations where negligence of one person results or is the main contributory factor in another person’s death. In almost every such case you would expect to have the book thrown at you if you were the perpetrator. However, introduce a car and bike to the scenario and the mindset of the legal system and media completely changes – IMHO this is wrong.

Get on a bike and from a legal perspective, the value of your life evaporates.
