for plotting a route on a PC or downloading one from the net, then loading onto a GPS unit to follow – the eTrex is absolutely fine.

u can ‘obtain’ slightly better mapping from the interweb for it and while no where near as good as OS, does the job. To be honest, if u are following a re planned route, you don’t need any mapping at all.

Sorry for not towing the established line, but I think it looks fine.

Reasonably innovative and to a degree, reflective of idyllic English life.

I look like I should be much faster than I am. A massive head on a skinny body gives the no-entry sign look, but does nothing for aerodynamics.

Got a feeling that I’m bumbling through life and falling way short of my true potential but not knowing what I should be doing about it or having the balls to step out of my comfort zone and one day realizing what I should have been doing and being too old to do anything about it

    this

Not going to see the White Stripes at Blackpool tower ball room about 10 years ago having decided I didn’t like them on the basis of one over played single.

That and 98% of my working life.

my mazda has a fuel consumption display only in litres per 100 mile, giving a great mix of metric and imperial.

I can see why someone in an office in Japan may have thought that was a good idea (measure fuel in litres and distance in miles).

Brilliant gays behind a fence not breeding other gays so they’ll eventually die out theory.

we seem to have a half-arsed mix of both systems, which can be confusing

We are used to our system but people coming from abroad must wonder WTF we are doing with the mix of metric and imperial.

    Pint of beer
Litre of fuel, but consumption of said fuel in miles per gallon
    Pints of milk
    Everything on roads in miles
    Food measured in kg

    seems very random.

I only buy stuff when u need it and can afford it.

Don’t be materialistic. Flash cars are generally a bad investment.

When you do buy anything, get it in a sale or discounted.

Other than a house, don’t borrow money to buy anything.

Wiggo – my daughter had her photo taken with him, seems like a decent chap. Also, wife of the guy I sit next to at work is mates with his wife, this has (unsurprisingly) not resulted in me going on any rides with him.

I spotted Alexei Sayle a few rows away in the theatre once and said “****, it’s Alexei Sayle” out loud, instead of thinking it. He gave me death stares for a good few minutes afterwards. I don’t know him personally though.

No one who is friends with anybody really famous is going to say on a public forum who they know. I respect their privacy.

Phil O’Brien, team leader of BPMR, said: “A lot of work is being done promoting the forest as an extreme mountain biking destination,….

extreme? Not so sure about that. Lazy journalism pandering to narrow minded bigots. As some of the comments on that link say:

    1. No mention of benifits to local economy and public in general.

    2. Lets charge sports people for treating injuries when they are, in part, keeping themsleves fit by staying active. Fine for the NHS to look after drunks bottling each other though.

I ordered a pair of PI bib shorts and was sent a PI top that was used.

Several other issues too boring to go into.

I see Evans as a better version of Halfords and for me personally, just too much hassle to use.

I seem to remember doing the following:

    spy bot S&D to remove.

search your PC to find the folder with the babylon files and just deleted it. Not rocket science and likewise, I’m sure IT people will say thats a no no, but cured the problem for me.

When I was about 18 I had a pair of speedo swim shorts that when wet, formed a seal against the thigh and emitted a perfect whoppee cussion noise when ever I bent down or raised the leg above a certain point.

Que hours of wet fart cossack dancing by the hotel pool.

American Airlines lost my bag when I was on a point to point trip across Colorado.

The American Airlines help line was brilliant – after about half an hour u got through to the thickest person in the world who had me riding over 12k feet passes in my undies.

An Audax is like a Sportive, just at 10% of the cost and not signed.

I love them due to the more traditional feel. You always see partipants in cafes on the way around and sometimes there are refreshments in a church hall at the end.

My tip – use a GPS with the route plotted in advance – those cards are a PITA

    who ever Roy picks…

    – the whole country will get behind them
    – many will take leave from work and fly out to watch them play at great expense
    – 1966, 40 years of hurt blah blah blah
    – England flags on cars
    – maybe this time etc etc

Then they’ll play ****, looking like they are a bunch of overpaid ****s who can’t be arsed and in doing so set a very poor example to the thousands of kids who look up to them.

Some proper sport in the Olympics and TDF to think about.

The Tories do well to get so many voting for a party that represents the interests of 0.01% of the population, despite the fact many of them will actually suffer as a consequence.
