I think if you buy status symbols you have to expect a degree of fleecing to occur. However, it really smarts if the item is actually worse quality that something much cheaper, as appears to be the case with many posh watches.

Does that mean I have to record all rides using the phone app? The reason I ask is I’m not sure the battery will last long enough so was thinking of logging using a garmin etrex and uploading to the site…or is that classed as inputting manually?

Putting on top or a residential tower block is a bad call. I would not want it on the basis that (i) there must be some risk of accidental firing and more so, (ii) making the building itself a target for terrorists.

Surely and office block or empty building would have been a better choice? This just smacks of – these people have no money/power, therefore we’ll position missiles on top of their home.

I only do those which offer a reasonable amount in exchange for entry and/or give a big chunk of proceeds to charity. eg: Brownbacks, HTN and Rough Ride.

Not done any of the 24hr races for some time now, mainly due to
– courses not standing up to even a bit of bad weather
– price going up and up
– punters getting less and less

It’s a fine line between abandoning the child when they need you and teaching them that they can get attention or you to do what they want by going bonkers.

Generally – make sure they are ok (ie: nappy, wind, feed, thirst, not ill etc). I think babies are fairly tough and after the first one, you learn as a parent that they are not super fragile/needy. The only way we could get ours to sleep right through was to go through 3 nights of leaving them going bonkers and after that they learnt we wouldn’t come running and have been generally ok ever since. A dummy can help, but then you’ll have to go through dummy withdrawal at some point later.

Binners – Can really only do one ride mid week due to danger presented by Mrs PL, so will be out Thurs. Come along if u can make it. I didn’t need lights last week and we didn’t get to the pub until 10pm.
