Devil’s Staircase & Limekiln spotted. Ridden  those a few times during the Wyegate Long Distance  (motorcycle) Trial. I’m guessing devils would be a handful on an MTB…..

Fork oil – Putoline does a  SAE 4W oil, I tried their 5W and thought it was a bit over damped…..

Latest airshaft change  works well and has transformed my 120 – now 140mm Yaris.

    See other thread: https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/airshaft-vs-airspring-yari-modding/

Upgraded my (2016?) Yari with the new airspring at £42. Extended fork from 120  to 140mm. Running Putoline SAE 4W forkoil with both compression & rebound fully off. Result – pretty much what mark90 said!

Use orange seal in leaky Moto Trials rear wheels – usually works on the newer type solid rims.

Use a cheapo phone – sub £1000! Plot route on laptop using GPsies.com. Follow route on phone using Great Britain topo maps app – for better live map view. Runs on GPS so no need to have phone data connection on…

Recommend Motorola moto E 2nd gen for good battery life.

    create routes with https://www.gpsies.com

Can read with above, but I find Great Britain Topo Maps better for viewing. That might be android only though…

    Report Surrey potholes here:  https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/do-it-online/report-it-online

    Sussex potholes here: http://love.westsussex.gov.uk/account/logon

After few recent rides on the road bike…..I’ve reported 20 potholes in Sussex. About half are filled, some are noted for work with no date.

Tried reporting hole in the road to Leith Hill (Surrey cc) but get std email – we’ve looked at that and it needs no work! So need to nag them more.

I fixed his (trials Gas Gas) bike once. He rode it into his own pond. Totally, utterly filled up with brown water & left to stew!

Rode SSDT twice a very long time ago. Split finger first try & finished next go. Proper tough do, highly recommended……but serious fitness required, wish I lacked. Discovered trials in sunny France after that.

Fitted one to my Sonder (11 sp std) just for the 50T hill climb gear. Works faultlessly, just needs a slightly longer shove of lever to climb into the 50T sprox sometimes.
