Use Direct debit guarantee in a dispute, or whatever it’s called.
I contacted my bank & money refunded promptly. 4 payments to a energy co I’d left some time ago.

see:How do I claim under a Direct Debit guarantee?
Simply contact your bank or building society. They are responsible for refunding the money – even if the original error was made by the organisation collecting the payment. But remember, if you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to.

I’m using a Cubot KingKong MINI 3, 4.5″ Mini Smartphone. About £120. Thats the latest version I’m waiting to arrive. I’ve used the mk 2 version for the last couple of years. For on bike nav & everything else as it’s my only phone.

Just testing a Rockbros smart rear light Q5. Rechargable, brake light senses motion & works. Secondary light has auto off in daylight if req. Or set to all on.. Was £14 from Aliexpress.

Sofirn IF25A BLF Anduril – £25 – 35 quid. (aliexperess or amazon) add spare 21700 battery & the exposure helmet mount… I have two – extra one does as a lightweight bar light in these not quite dark yet conditions.

Candle wax or a hard wax brew based on that. I’m using Enigma black edition these days.

My summer set up – two of these: Sofirn IF25A BLF Anduril Powerful USB C Rechargeable LED Flashlight 21700. search Ali-ex…. Easy bar mount. Helmet mount from Exposure works well. Built in charger. Quick battery swap. Was £24 – 27 or so each.

My usual advice it putoline for winter & candle wax for Summer. Puto more durable to winter filth. Was using home brew wax – pulled the cake from the pan & quite some dirt at the base. So now trying Engima Black wax.

Doesn’t do anything I can’t do already. Tried it when it arrived, but pointless for me. I can do all it offers + more for … free.

My original Facebook page got hacked. FB did nothing to help. To prove my identity I sent my passport photo over 12 times & the computer said no, you’re under 13 years old! Communication with FB is next to impossible. Nobody puts a name on a reply. No phone number is published. We are just advert fodder. Nothing of importance on my old FB page, but it took down the Horsham Riders page, the Motomerlin page & stuffed up the Gas Gas Pampera group. Hope you can get it back, but they really are utterly useless, there is no customer service.

Deposits experience…. Delays on sourcing a Trials m/c – refund of deposit offered on first contact, bike could be a month arriving. Delays sourcing E bike – shop claims deposit is not refundable. Bike no firm date of arrival! Both comparatively small amounts, but both my money!

I’ve tried budget Chinese lights for years & finally some brands are getting their act together – here’s one: Sofirn Q8pro china light that arrived in 8 days. Silly bright for 1 minute, then ramps down. Switches up/down power + turbo for the headline 10 snillion lumens…. Built in charger. Added camera mount/bolt & gopro bar clamp. The only downside (so far) is the weight – 600g on yer bars. It was £53 in a sale. Clamp & mount prob £12. Very bright to start with (better than a hope R8+!) but ramps down. Still going after 2 hours + use, but would benefit from a battery swap at halftime. I have a sofirn small torch as a helmet light & the mid ride battery change works well.

Update on my revolubing… Summer rides & my chain suddenly stretches & gives graunchy noises in the lower gears. So it never got to Winter use. Back on the older chain that’s lasted 1000 miles on the hot wax or Putoline depending on the season. Both chains YBN brand. Have retired the Revolube.

Good lack with that. I had my account hacked & so called customer service is non-existant. No phone number. No name or reference om emails. Absolutely useless. Had my a/c deleted by FB as they said I wasn’t old enough! I’d sent 15 scans of my passport & I’m over 60. We are just advert fodder.

My head light/torch is a Sofirn IF25A. About £30 on aliexpress or £48 on Amazon. Worth getting a spare battery, to swap at half time… – 21700 battery used. I’m using an Exposure helmet mount & it’s a good fit. Can charge via usb wire into the light or separate battery charger – but check they take the chunky 21700 battery.

I had this o a 38 too. The lower air side chamber had way too much grease in it. Stripped & clean it. Much better. Upgrading to the posher damper unit really helps. My take is that the fork is over damped as it comes – for a lightish slow rider. Try no compression damp & just a few clicks on rebound. Worth experimenting… I found Fox settings too stiff.

I’ve got a Liitokala charger and their 21700 batteries that have more mAh than the std Sofirn batteries, and it all works!

Small phones…Had a Sony – unreliable p.o.s… with useless warranty.
Now using Cubot kingkong mini mk2 for everything, but mainly maps, routing, strava etc. reliable & cheap. The mk2 has a noticeably bigger battery.

Yam PW-X2 motor in a Haibike. 20 – 80 miles depending on the usual hills, mud, speed, rider’s weedy legs etc. My pal’s bosch gets similar range, but reports the Yam is quicker up hills… both 600 wattys.

Puto for winter, candle wax for summer… Recently tried Revolube on the E bike – mainly dry weather use, it saw off my YBN gold chain though. 400 miles & stretched too far to use, noisey in low gears. The silver YBN chain is still going strong at 750 miles, using the Puto/candle wax seasonal combo. Yes it has stretched, but works fine on the worn cassette & steel chainwheel.

    Direct Debit guarantee – http://www.directdebit.co.uk/DirectDebitExplained/pages/directdebitguarantee.aspx

Ask your bank to refund the DD’s if they are holding your cash and no reply. I did this some time ago with an energy supplier that was on it’s way to going bust & had useless customer service. No question & money back in 3 days.

Clocked up 300 ebike miles so far on revolube. 2 applications on a near new chain but on 500 mile old sprox. Riding Surrey Hills. Seems to work, but mainly dry going with muddy splashes.. Power washed off maybe 5 times or more. Zero crunching, or grit graunches & chain looks like new. So low maintenance time after set-up, But you can’t see any lube on there. Winter will be the better test. I usually run Putoline in winter & home brew candle wax in summer.

I’ve got 2 ZTTO cassettes. The cheapo budget one drops the chain back pedaling, but only in first gear. The posher pricey one does not – no issues at all. ZTTO said it’s too expensive to machine the budget ones to the higher standard.
