Ok so you have tax and NI, so take 25% off, then you have all of the training, certs and tools to buy. You have insurance, business running costs, vehicles etc. You pay yourself a day rate and the profit goes into the business, if there is any…

I’m not a sparky but have worked in construction industry. Day rates about £200+. I would say that that’s easy less than a days work for a sparky plus apprentice, but also want a profit so double that plus vat I’m saying £480.

I’ve got a couple of these and a 24” monitor, DP and HDMI I’m so I can use for both laptops or just have Eurosport on one while using the other laptop for video calls and the main screen for work.

I’d buy a mac for recording. You can also generally plug guitars directly into them without the need for an audio interface. can on my 27″ 2011 imac anyhow. I still use a scarlett 2i4 mind you as you get better control of the input and more connectivity options. But it is possible for to forgo the audio interface with a mac.

How did you go about doing that, through the mini-Jack?

Thank you for the advice. Particularly Palmer 77. I contacted Toby Platts on Friday and had this fantastic Voyager knife delivered today. Am very content.

I’m really pleased, I’ve had my knife from Toby for about 5 years and got the edge re profiled last year after I made a mess of sharpening it. A very high quality product at a reasonable price :)

On Garmin Explore, you click the plus symbol on the map screen to create a route then save it. You have to add it to a collection, then sync with device. It should then appear in the relevant section on your device.

While I was in Spain definitely! Here, depends on how much time you spend outside. It’s not dependant in direct light so ambient light works too. I got the solar variant as I came to it from a Casio Pro Trek which was solar only, and that suited my purposes for outdoor activities etc

Fénix 6 user here, solar if it matters. Pairs with iPhone nicely, does notifications and can be used for music via a number of systems, but perhaps a little more convoluted for that than Apple Watch.

Plus side, battery is at 7-10 days even with HR and O2 monitoring on constantly. Works great for tracking routes, especially MTB where you may not want an out front mount.

I will admit that Garmin Connect is very difficult to use in real terms, the app is better than the website, but crap for route planning. Explore is much better, but not intuitive as to how you get routes from the app onto the device. Once you work it out it’s fine though.

Hi, decided to just use this, much easier, thanks for your help :)

Ok, i admit it, I need your help :)

In essence I have a range of varying values from 72.73% to 120% etc, I’m looking to set ranges that I can then just filter by, such as 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% 100% and 100+

    =IF(AND(W2>=0.1,W2<=24.99),”25″,IF(AND(W2>=25,W2<=49.99),”50″, IF(AND(W2>=50,W2<=74.99),”75″, IF(AND(W2>=75,W2<=99.99),”100″,””))))

Sorry, one to return a rounded up percentage range to allow for Pivot filters from 10-100+, and the other less ranges

I’ve lived in Spain for the last few years, they’ve got local police, national police and the Guardia Civil. Yes on some occasions they might not be treated with ‘respect’, and inevitable not all of them are model members of the force, but in the majority of cases they certainly are respected. It may help that Spain is somewhat a pre-facist state and has many remnants of bureaucracy (it may help they have guns too) but the examples I’ve seen recently (including the above) deeply saddens me due the the mindless ambivalence to humans endeavouring to carry out their respective roles in globally challenging circumstances.

Sorry if it would like I’m being picky, I’m not but the DDA was replaced by the Equality Act 2010, disability is a protected characteristic, and is described as:

The definition is set out in section 6 of the Equality Act 2010. It says you’re disabled if:

you have a physical or mental impairment
that impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities

You have an ‘impairment’ if your physical or mental abilities are reduced in some way compared to most people. It could be the result of a medical condition – like arthritis in your hands that means you can’t grip or carry things as well as other people.

An impairment doesn’t have to be a diagnosed medical condition. If you’re suffering from stress, you might have mental impairments – like difficulty concentrating – as well as physical impairments such as extreme tiredness and difficulty sleeping. It still has to have a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out day-to-day activities.

Your impairment doesn’t have to stop you doing anything, as long as it makes it harder. It might cause you pain, make things take much longer than they should or mean that you’re unable to do an activity more than once.

There is a plethora of information and guidance available on this, and reading your post if you’ve been prescribed meds for a while you would certainly come under this category, as did I…

Yep been there, short version working in a local authority, some work pressures then essentially bullying by a manager, although not my manager. Escalated to my manager who was an interim, to HR and Director of Services. Nothing happened. Went to GP and got signed off for 3 weeks. In the interim spoke with head of HR and we agreed that I could leave if I wanted to with paid notice period. Six months later the manager who was the issue also left, rather than any action taken, and the sad thing is that his behaviour had at least affected 3-5 others but I’d been the only one to raise it so high. Best decision I made, it was under my terms, and when I came to leave I didn’t shrink away, but told people the reasons for it all. Happy to talk further if needed.

Edit – Just to say I took legal advice and Constructive Dismissal was an option, but I was told it could take 2 years and rip you’re life to shreds…

Think I’ve worked out what youre’ trying to do.
FOr row 16 you want to work out/lookup the cost from the tbale above.
So in J16 put the following
    =vlookup(I16,$I$3:$J$13,2,FALSE)

So lookup whats in I16, go lookup the rows in I3:J13 and when you’ve found it, give me the value in the 2nd column oh and the false means i’ll only accept exactly the right text not the first one that looks about right.

    Click and Drag

    Hope that helps

    BEAUTIFUL, JUST BEAUTIFUL :)

Anyone got any tips on how to set this up with VLOOKUP? I have the menu options hidden and then accessed in cells using a list and Data Validation, the cost option is in the next column along, and I want it to place the price for each item in a separate cell so I can have a running total for that column. But. its not clear to me what the ‘Lookup_value’, ‘Table_array’, ‘Col_index_num’ and ‘Range_lookup’ should be?

    Still not working

    =IF(AND(I16=$I$3, $J$3), IF(AND(I16=$I$4, $J$4), IF(AND(I16=$I$5, $J$5), IF(AND(I16=$I$6, $J$6), IF(AND(I16=$I$7, $J$7), IF(AND(I16=$I$8, $J$8), IF(AND(I16=$I$9, $J$9), IF(AND(I16=$I$10, $J$10), IF(AND(I16=$I$11, $J11), IF(AND(I16=$I$12, $J$12), IF(AND(I16=$I$13, $J$13), “0”)))))))))))

I’m thinking VLOOKUP may be easier, basically Im creating a spreadsheet to list the menu choice of guests, and return the cost of the choice from the data range, something like this…

Why are people kidding themselves using kilometres ? Unless of course you actually live and ride on the continent.

Right, I’ve had to give myself a talking to as I’d said I wouldn’t be doing any Strava challenges as they stress me out too much, so my challenge to myself is to go riding every day between now and the end of the year, to try new routes and to enjoy it :)

I’m just down the road in San Pedro de Alcántara. There will definitely be gravel options but there’s not much info out there in terms of formal routes. Basically you have the coast road (A7) then typically roads up into mountain passes or villages. There are circular routes inland from Málaga and this area is a bit more undulating. Quite often the proper roads deteriate into gravel (Camino Rural) and link up with other towns, for example the popular Istán road is tarmac up to the town then becomes gravel between Tolox and Monda. There’s some of the routes I’ve done here, let me know if you want any more pointers…
