More than likely speed sensor ring on one of the rear wheel bearings is breaking up due to corrosion, this can also damage the wheel speed sensor. Easy fix once it is determined which one, normally replacing wheel bearing inc sensor ring and sensor.

Our workshop torque wrenches get checked for calibration every 6 months, car workshop, 3/4 drive for hubs/crankshaft bolts, 1/2 drive for suspension/wheel bolts etc, 3/8 drive engine stuff, 1/4 drive wee fiddly bits, torque screwdrivers etc probably 20ish items and only remember one 1/2 that has failed calibration, it had been left outside in the rain. All good quality brands

Need some techy help with this.
Son wants this on his laptop via his xbox game pass, it needs 150gb spare hard drive space but he’s only got 90ish gb spare on his smallish 250gb ssd. I know we should have got a laptop with a bigger drive in the first place, other than replacing the ssd what’s our options? Will an external drive run it ok?

We have a VW Tiguan with factory swivel towbar, owners manual states 100kg nose weight but 75kg if using bike rack. We use a witter zx504 it’s a full 4 bike rack not a 3 rack with an extension fitted for wheels but bike 4 top tube is linked to bike 3 top tube. takes 4 road bikes easily but requires a wee bit of thought with 4 big mtb to prevent fork/seat chain stays rubbing. Electrics come with 7 and 13 pin fitted

End of month looking to hit his retail target to obtain his bonus??

    or

Its been ok since new but then went out of alignment, how did that happen? Without knowing how and where the sensor is fitted it’s difficult to say but poss it’s had an “external influence” on it.

    5 or 6 speed box?

6 speed is a biggggggg heavy lump, 5 speed is manageable. Don’t take the engine out, don’t take the subframe off.

Air filter housing, battery and tray out to get access to top of box, under tray off, bottom half of n/s archliner off, n/s driveshaft off(gets it out the way so it’s not in the way), same with boost hose, disconnect o/s driveshaft and take off drive flange from gearbox(you won’t lose oil), pendulum mount off. Support engine in a safe manor that won’t slip or give way!! Take off gearbox mount completely from box, disconnect cables/hoses/bolts leave the 16mm head bolt below the starter till last as it will keep box in place till you are ready to remove it. I may have overlooked something but if it’s not obvious when doing the job you shouldn’t be doing it. As the box comes out you’ll thank me for mentioning removing o/s drive flange and n/s shaft, push the diff up and you’ll gain enough space to get it out.

Theres YouTube for checking the dual mass flywheel.

Rebuild is just a reverse of strip, bleeding the clutch can be a bitch depending on type.

    Good luck

Might be worth while finding out if the engine mount bolts were replaced when it was removed to change the timing, on most vws these are a replaceable item due to being torqued and then angle stretched.

Push your dealer for goodwill, contact vw customer services and make a fuss, you’ll be surprised what they can do when want to.
Roughly 2 hrs labour no idea cost of part, tailgate trims off, c post trim off, drivers side of luggage area trim off to access each end.

its a known issue with a technical bulletin avail, correct repair is to replace the loom, which includes the hose that leaks, that goes from body to tailgate at the drivers side. bit of an involved job due to the amount of stripping down required to access the whole loom. ask your dealer for goodwill as its a known issue.

I attended the world scout jamboree in Australia in 87/88 totally amazing experience. I’m still in contact with friends I made back then and it was air mail letters back then so a bit of effort was needed. I was 16 when I went, was in 5th year(Scottish school) got the results I was expected to get, not great but I never was academic.
contact local businesses (business breakfast/lunch groups with a promise to go back and do a presentation afterwards), rotary etc your district/area scouts will know of any local trusts that can help. my scout group had a very active parents section that arranged fundraising race nights, dinner dances(different times). try and involve the other sections in the group with activities relating to the jamboree, helps get those sections parents onboard. some sort of sponsored activity that promotes the skills gained through scouting, again involve the other explorers?? more bodies=more funds. find out if any ex-members of the scout group have “done well” for themselves, they may be more sympathetic to helping out.
MCJnr will have a brilliant time

    Dads Army radio hour

Kids and adults all had a great time so much so grandad got taken to dads army again today, different shows on alternate days. Grandad didn’t believe the show could live up to our hype, he said it was better so much so he wants to see the other show.

The egr system is a different design on the mk 7 to the earlier ones that gave/are giving trouble, my first instinct would be a water pump as the “shutters” that close off the pump vanes are prone to sticking closed but this has already been replaced? There are various test procedures with video instructions for the dealers to follow available to them for cooling system issues. If these cooling system circuits aren’t bled properly with the diag system it can cause big issues. Replaced a few intake manifolds that include the charge air cooler due to coolant loss, in the hoses above these there are one way valves that if not installed correctly will cause issues.
You’ve reported an issue to the dealer within the warranty period, it’s the dealers duty to repair this issue under warranty guidelines regardless of time/cost.

Does the car have a service history?
Take it to a dealer there is a good chance of goodwill from VW, if dealer says no get on to VW customer services.
Have see issues when the oil filter is changed and a seal is left stuck in the housing, this often happens with cheap filters and inexperience mechanics doing the job

    2.5tdi?
Different set up to normal cars due to everything being gear driven, water pump will probably be leaking into crankcase causing ‘oil’ level to rise.

We were in Edinburgh thurs/fri used hermiston gate park and ride free parking, £1.40 each into city on bus and stayed at youth hostel just down from playhouse, £160 for 4 of us inc continental breakfast. Some of the places that had rooms were talking silly money.
