Been on wharfarin for the last 6 years. Had a dvt in my very early 20’s that went undiagnosed for years. Only due to my persistence at the doctors did it ever get diagnosed at all. Then had another about 6 years ago so I’m on it for the rest of my days now. Doesn’t really stop me riding wise at all but I suppose I am slightly conscious in the back of my mind about having a big off, although that may just be old age and common sense kicking in.

Thanks all for the advise. I swapped over the axle, end caps and free hub from the old Pro2 and it all seems good. Means a bargain set of wheels were now even more of a bargain as I didn’t have to buy any additional bits.

We have done beach holidays in Majorca the last couple of years. Five of us self catering flying out of Gatwick and the cost was under 3 grand for 8 nights which considering its in the school summer holidays could be worse.  Kids seemed happy enough there, 17, 14, and 12 years old.  After being caught up in the lowcostholidays fiasco a couple of years back I now use travelrepublic. No complaints but then nothing has gone wrong which I guess would be the true test.

Really loving my Slate, so much so it’s pretty much all I have ridden in the last year. Despite only having 30mm of travel it’s pretty comfortable on light off road stuff, the carbon post help a bit as well.

Had this problem the other day with a Schwalbe G-One on a Enve M60 rim. The main thing in the end was as others have said you need thin tyre levers. I got these and ultimately they made the job much easier –

    HERE

It may just be internet rumour but I did read that Schwalbe tyres are tighter fitting than others.

In all my years this is the first time I have really struggled to get a tyre off. At one point I had one side off the rim completely but still couldn’t break the bead off the rim and into the centre channel on the other side. As for putting it back on a Crank Bros Speedier lever worked fine but was no help at all for getting it off.

Me too. That makes it every single year I have been unsuccessful now.  I do wonder if it’s because I don’t tick the box to say they can keep my entrance fee if I am not allocated a place. Never mind will probably go and do the Dunwich Dynamo instead.

Another vote for AVT. Good guys, really helpful.

As the username suggests I have an RC100 and faced this issue maybe 20 years ago. I stripped the frame down for a respray and chucked the bearings away as they were rough thinking I will just buy some new ones. Low and behold you couldn’t get them anywhere not even Pace or Bullseye. So newly painted frame dispatched to a little engineering place in Isleworth who machined out the BB to accept off the shelf bearings supplied by Pace, fortunately they didn’t scratch the frame. Next problem if I remember correctly was the axle on the Bullseye’s was now too small a diameter for the new bearing, not much but enough to mean it wouldnt work. So again said engineering shop added some metal to the axle which then actually made it too thick so I remember sitting at home removing some material by hand with wet and dry as I didnt have a lathe. Sounds a bit rough and ready doing that by hand but never had a problems with the bearings after that, in fact they are still fitted now. What I did have a problem with was snapping Bullseye cranks so the drive side arm and axle got changed a few years later. I thought I would have to go through all this again but strangely it actually just fitted so maybe Bullseye revised the axle diameter. All this was a real long time ago but I am convinced the original bearings were an off the shelf bearing inside some kind of adapter to make the od fit the weird size bb shell.

Like JoeG said. My Mulefuts have a cut down rim strip so it doesnt go right to the edge of the rim and then a wrap of superwide gorilla tape. Add some cheap Roval/Specialized valves, about £3 each, and all good. The hardest part I found was getting the tyre of the rim to do the conversion. eBay for the wide gorrilla tape if you get stuck (no pun intended !).

Another vote for the Slate although it sounds like you don’t want to spend quite that much. I am told that Cannondale wont be bringing the Slate into the UK this year so I guess that’s why many places have last years model with big discounts. I’m currently riding the CX1 and it’s absolutely superb.

Check out Sophos free. 99% of people haven’t heard of Sophos but they are big and well respected in the corporate world. Much more so than the vendors most people have heard of !.

Absolutely loving my Slate CX1. Bought on a whim to replace my full on road bike after seeing the psa on here. I’m 6’1 and about 32″ inside leg and went for a large. Seems pretty much spot on size wise.

With regards tubeless mine came supplied with Mavic rims rather than the Cannondale branded ones which I believe were recalled. I had some 3 quid Specialized/Roval valves kicking about so chucked those in and a scoop of Stans in each and so far no problems.

Had exactly the same problem on a Merlin frame. Quick trip down the diy shop for a waterpipe freezing kit. Fit it to the seatpost and freeze the post. Using the saddle as leverage I managed to wiggle it out.

I have to completely agree with Jambalaya’s last comment. Why Corbyn and Abbott can’t just give a straight apology is beyond me.

Mentally destroyed. What about the families of the girls involved !. I bet those people really are mentally destroyed by the selfish actions of one individual. This should have been at least 20 years in prison. Read the BBC report of what he had drunk he wasn’t just over the limit and he would have known that but still made the choice to drive. No excuses for drink driving ever. My son trains on the same playing field so maybe I’m a bit emotive but 6 years for killing two innocent girls is just wrong. If it was an accident then I would feel for the guy having to live with that but sorry your p*ssed up and choose to drive you deserve to rot for a long time.

Nice car, my dad had a 2009 B180 and now has a 2015 B200. The newer model (2011 on) is much nicer to drive and has a better interior imho. I know you dont want a diesel but they are really economical depending on your type of journeys. I’ve had 70mpg on a motorway run from the B200. I think all the time he had the B180, living in London at the time, that averaged out around the mid 40mpg. Apart from servicing costs both have been completely trouble free.

For XC I would take a look at the Superstar Carbon rims, until midnight they are £52.49 each. It’s going to blow your budget a bit when you factor in hub and spokes but hey they are carbon and will make you at least 10x faster (or maybe I made that bit up). I got a pair recently and would say finish wise they are much for a muchness with the rims on my £1200 Roval wheelset. Not sure how they would hold up to trail centre use but for £50 not the end of the world if you predominately ride XC anyway.

In order of mileage for me would have to be,

    Rockymountain Blizzard fat bike
    S-Works Stumpjumper HT 29er
    S-Works Epic 26er
and maybe a couple of outings on the road bike.

Got to admit I do love the fat bike especially with the Blutos for just generally riding into, and over, things.

There will be a way to do it. Most manufacturers seem to gear up the car integration for the iPhone over Android. Are you running the latest ios ?. That said Android is better 🙂

In a strange way one of these. Stupidly quick 0-60 time. Remember seeing one for sale about 8 years back for £75k. Probably worth double or triple that now.

Clio V6 – The price of these has rocketed over the last 2 – 3 years. Wish I had bought one at the time, the same car would probably be 10 grand more now and near the price it was when new.

“I can’t recall ever having specific tools supplied with a bike, certainly never a crank extractor”

Not that it helps but Specialized supply the socket to adjust/remove their s-works cranks with full bikes, well mine did anyway. I would kind of expect that when item specific tools are required.

I’ve had a few which could be considered iconic. Listed in order of ownership.

1989 Fat Chance Wicked (Didnt rate it to be honest)
    1990 Pace RC100 (Still got)
    1990 Klein Pinnacle (Still got)
1995 Orange P7 (Probably the nicest hard tail I’ve ever ridden, and cheapest)
1996 Merlin Mountain Titanium (Still got)
    2000 Intense Tracer (Still got)
2002 Spesh Enduro (Gave it to a mate last year who snapped it in half)

Had the same with my 2011 s-works epic. Spesh supply the framesets with plastic cups/adapters that press in so you can use a threaded BB. To be honest they weren’t very good in my experience so currently have a KCNC BB fitted which is much better.

This could be an option depending where in Bracknell you are. Not done the first bit of the BVP so someone else may be able to advise better. Normally pick it up around Farnborough.

Pick up Blackwater valley path, California country park ?. Take this all the way to Badshot Lea.

Quick 5 minute road ride, fairly quite, and onto the North Downs, just outside Farnham. Follow it all the way to St Marthas and pick up the Downs link. Or turn off the downs just after you cross the canal at Guildford and ride the road to Bramley to pickup the downs link.

Downs link, pretty boring but as the name implies gets you to the South downs from the North downs and then drop into Brighton.

I was a Domino admin many moons ago, mainly Domino/Notes 4 and R5. What version are you using and which Windows version as I may be able to help. With 4 and 5 it was pretty simple to move between machines.

I ask how they got the number as we don’t have a phone. That confuses them for a good while. Also pretended to be a Police Station the other day, they hung up pretty quickly after first apologising lots. Is it just us or have the amount of calls really ramped up lately, Saturdays seem particularly bad.

I’ve gone the opposite route. Bel-Air’s for a few years and now 143 Spesh Phenoms. Personally I much prefer the Phenoms but like you say its a personal thing.

I’ve got a KCNC adapter BB in my S-Works Epic as the lbs did not have the correct Praxis one in stock at the time. Zero problems and its done a good few hundred miles although mainly in the dry as its my summer bike.
