I know York pretty well as i cover it as an engineer, i cannot think of any parking at the Clifford St (Central fire station) I think they even reverse the engines in as there is so little space, there may be a little bit around the back (google map street view "peckitt st")but i think it is shared with the court.

There is the Castle car park opposite though.
There are plenty of B&B's and hotels on Tadcaster Rd, within 10 mins walk of the city centre.

We have 5 pups at the moment, they are 2 week old, along with our 2 farm bred parents.

I have always had Border Collies from being a young lad, great dog, and great family pets if trained properly.

Some good comments above, only thing i will say is give it plenty of exercise but don't over do it, they will go until they can't walk through exhaustion.( i once saw someone do that, but thats a different story for another time!!)

The other thing is make sure you let it know who is the Boss from very young, even though there cute as pups, they soon become unruly and it is very hard to get them out of bad habits.

And watch your heels, because when they nip you to round you up it can hurt!

Kite buggying is quite cheap to get into (under £800) but if you end up getting into racing it is very expensive.

large kites can cost in the region £1000 and you need various sizes from small for strong winds to very large for light breezes.
Then a race buggy can be another £1000 and then drysuit for endurance races on wet beaches, Helmets, Harnesses and PKA and club memberships.

But the feeling of steering with your feet at 60mph with no brakes a couple of inches off the sand really does take some beating!

My Nokia 5800 came with it on 3, it is useful for watching Helicopter Hero's on my Lunchbreak.
Plenty of MTBers seem to be popping up on it too.

Jungle is based in North Yorkshire, Leeds is West Yorkshire.

So i imagine that NYP are dealing with it as that is where the incident occurred?

I use my 5800 on 3 with skype when abroad, just find a wifi connection and im away.
Its worth looking at as an option.

I have a 100-400 and to be totally honest, it isnt worth the money, i would now buy a sigma 120-400 as it is as sharp as the Canon but about half the price, the only thing is my Canon 1.4 converter wouldn't work on it.

I also have the 70-200 2.8L IS and that is an outstanding lens in every sense!

On The don't throw stick for dogs debate…

2 years ago my partner took our Border Collie out, Fizzy loved chasing sticks.
One particular stick was thrown, and Fizzy chased it, as it landed fizzy grabbed it in her mouth, but the stick twisted awkwardly and with the dogs forward speed went through her mouth, into her throat and pierced out the back of her neck.
Luckily, they were near the car so my partner picked her up and rushed her to the emergency vet who manage to save her.
(I will find the photo's of her at the time)
We have two great Border Collies who make great trail dogs.

I own a Canon 100-400L IS, and to be totally honest, i can get shots from the Sigma 120-400 that are as good as the Canon.

I wouldn't spend the money on the Canon 100-400 again when it is nearly twice the price of the Sigma.

The best lens i have is my Canon 70-200 2.8L IS, the image quality is brilliant.

To get Manchester to Whitby, i would look at going M62 all the way to Howden (first exit after the BIG ouse bridge), then head through Market Weighton,Driffield and then up the coast through Scarborough (this will miss out Leeds all together)

This year has changed – there is no access via the a64 to the festival. They are directing it all onto the a1 where they have a 1 way of some sort, single entrance into the site.

That is wrong, the traffic is for the festival is being brought of the a1/m1 northbound at the A64 which is now one way to the car parks heading along the A64 west, there is NO eastboung traffic on the A64
The southbound traffic is coming off at the Boston Spa junction and the A64 and directed straight into the car parks.

Great fun, considering i live in the Village (thorner) right at the side of the festival site!!

    Should ban the thing!!

There is loads of dodgy camera stores on Idrive and the 192, i have always used Ritz camera in the Florida Mall, but i think it has closed since i was there earlier this year.

I would stay away from the dodgy stores as you will find that your credit card get skimmed (according to various stories i have heard over the years )

IK do agree with the Villa and ordering from B&H

The price difference isnt that much though!
