The taranis is awesome and will do anything you could want it to do, I have 22 different models programmed into mine, and it’s capibiliities are amazing where as the turnigy is simple, cheap and will do what you need it to do.

On a budget this is a decent deal, plenty of people using them and very happy or if you want to spend and get the best for multirotors, this one

The 450 will easily carry a GoPro on a gimbal, the zenmuse gimbal is plug and play although overly expensive for what it is.

There are plenty of other gimbals that will do the job for half the price,

On the Mobius camera subject , I have 2 and also 2 SJcams and a couple of GoPros , I wouldn’t buy a mobius again, the footage quality isn’t as good as the sjcam and they are about the same price.
The gimbals also don’t seem to like mobius camera balancing as most are based on the go pro weight.

It depends what you want to do with it, it it’s an aerial filming platform I would go with a 450 size upwards ,if you want to “drone” race (I hate the term drone !!) you want something 250-280 size.

The sizes refer to the measurement from one arm to the other diagonally.

I would recommend a dji 450 naza lite kit as a great starter, it’s build your own and you will still need to buy a 6channel transmitter and reciever plus batteries and charger

All my stuff I have built myself and will offer any help I can,

I have various types, I tend to use Boscam now as they are reliable and are easily comparable in range as my Imersionrc ones for half the price.

I prefer flying the bigger stuff than the 250 sized stuff as I like to use for aerial videoing, I also fly fixed wing fpv for mapping.

As previously said you can build one for about £120 without the fpv stuff , the Gravity is a decent spec and is worth about £300.

You get what you pay for though.

    Have a look at http://www.4props.co.uk or http://www.radioc.co.uk

Any questions , I will help you the best i can.

Have you tried FPV racing Pacemaker ? I have seen a couple of videos where they were racing through trees which looked

Yes, the smaller quads in the photo (Gravity 250 and Emaxx 250) are both used for racing , there are some multi story car park races in Halifax on a night and where our club is in York, we have an MX track on the land so use that with gates and hoops to fly through.

    Great fun !!

I totally agree with the idea of registering as is done in the states, and find that most people who fly within the law have no issue with it either.

As the safety officer at our BMFA club we regularly see new members who arrive at field with no ideas of the laws that exist around model flying an in particular multi rotors

I have built in the region of 40 multirotors over the last few years and have spent most of my life around RC aircraft ( and everything RC) as my father owned a model shop and is a renowned model builder.

I would look at the dji F450 Naza lite combo if you want to build something yourself.

Here is some of my fleet

The phantom is based on a f450 with naza, I have lots of experience with naza , vector and apm so will do what I can.

What is it you need to tune and why ?, the phantom flies well out of the box so shouldn’t need much.

Sorry for the delay in replying, the Sharan was a company car through lease plan.

I ended up putting it in a field due to it dieing at the wrong time !. It was subsequently taken away by VW and shipped off never to be seen again when legal action was threatened.

On the plus side, I had some great hire cars whilst the Sharan was in the dealers

I had the new model Sharan (61 plate) after 2 Galaxys (07 & 09) , it was by far the worst vehicle i have ever had !

I spent more time in hire cars than in the Sharan over the 2 years., 25 visits to the main dealer and they could never find the fault.

It would randomly die whilst you were driving, you could have been doing 5mph or 70 mph, with no warning the thing would stop and die with no power, no electrics, light or anything.
You would lose power steering, servo brakes and everything else.

The last straw was pushing it out of lane 2 of the unlit M1 at 5am asd it died when overtaking trucks !

The dealer could never get to what was causing it as nothing was ever logged in diagnostics.

So IMHO i would stay well away from the VW (Seat is the same car) and go for the Fords, both mine were faultless clocking up 138k and 126k in 2 years respectively.

I did think it would have the Mickrocopter F/C but the receiver looked very vector-ish.
I wondered if you were using a vector for the OSD.

I am looking to move away from the DJI Naza as we have had a few issues, i tend to fly in Atti mode most of the time but have had issues with GPS flyaways
(These are not an issue as i also fly helis so flick into manual to get control back)

The Vector is the F/C i am interested in for the fun quad.

I have been flying quads / Hexs for a few years, I started with bits from hobbyking then built a f550 hex, which I don’t use now as I have an 800 size hex.

I will probably sell the 550 in the next few weeks.

I bet if you removed the fuse in the spur that powers the alarm it will probably die immediately if not quite quickly.

In my experience (I used to work for ADT ) the backup batteries are normally knackered by the time they are 5 year old.

If not as said above disconnect the backup batteries on both the panel and bell box.

I used to have an Otterbox, middle of the range type, commuter I think. it was very good, when I got a new phone a got an Otterbox Defender and I don’t like it. Good protection but the outer rubber case has gone baggy.

Otterbox have got the best warranty replacement of any company I have ever dealt with, I have a defender on my note 2, work s3 and I pad and everytime I have had an issue, they were replace within the week.

I have had a few go baggy and one where the screen cover split (my fault) and there was no queries.

We have 2 from maplin, they were £25 each and have lasted 3 years upto now.
They are not powerful enough as a full on floodlight, but to light up pathway etc, they are great.
Just make sure you mount the solar panel with a decent south facing view to get the best from them.

    We have one of each,

Spray Autoglym interior shampoo all over and soak with a hot soapy sponge , (as near to boiling as possible) then the above industrial vacuum to suck it out.
It also works for heavily stained dirty seats.

Quick to fit once you know how, loads more grip than with chains.

I have both chains and socks provided by the company, in the deep snow earlier this year the snow socks were good but when I got stuck on the back roads over the Pennines the socks had to come off and the chains went on.

Admittedly it was so deep that the snow drift I drove into stopped my door from opening, so I had to climb out of the window and spent half and hour digging enough clearance to get the chains on. But once they were on it turned the front on my Sharan into a snowplough and it pulled itself out .

When you rotate it stays between the same icons ,so actually moved to a different part of the screen.
