What’s the kW rating on the Aqualisa? Site doesn’t seem to say(??).

I’m running both. Prefer Larsens. I have slashed 2 x sidewalls on the SB8s and they wear a lot quicker than the Larsens.

soz, was unclear. cc company said a retailer security had been compromised, i.e. big chunk of personal details stolen. Posted here as a PSA cuz i buy a lot of bike stuff online.

Things about Endoro1 is you really can’t take it too seriously and get hung up on times, conditions, etc. Carlos has always maintained ‘proper’, instant timings would significantly increase the entry cost hence him keeping it simple and therefore more prone to error.

Having said all that i’d be happy to pay more for the added dimension of instant times, podium, etc. on the day.

If you listen with headphones you can actually hear his heartbeat quickening when he’s pushin it or approaching the tricky bits.

Looking forward to some photo links. Still nothing on R&R.

Thanks for all the leads. Looks like a toss-up between the Duffbag and CTC plastic jobbie. £65 vs a tenner. The builders sand bag sounds ideal, though probably a bit cumbersome??

I like the creative solutions but don’t have anything knocking about that suits.

I’m also interested in who the photographers were. I’d appreciate knowing it so I can buy some photos.

Assuming they appear on R&R, keep an eye out here:

Had a blast today as well. Course was great. Thank god a lot more gravity was introduced after Stage 1! A little wrong turn in one stage was my only wrong-footing. Still hopeful of a top-half finish. :?:

PS. Photos will likely be on Roots n Rain before too long.

Agree it’s representative of call centre culture…but i’m sure that Nev is the wrong side of employment law. Wonder why Ananya hasn’t been sacked yet?

Ordered a week ago and nothing received. Emailed SC UK/Jungle (Stif Cycles?) and no response 3 days later. Called them and…they have no grease…and don’t know when it will arrive. Thanks for letting me know SC. :|

Bike was new in 2010 BUT it’s one of three so has only done about 1.5k miles in that time. Also, i always put off the greasing until latest possible because it’s such a hit and miss faff.

Ah, found them on SC UK. £9 doesn’t seem too bad?? Need a replacement nipple anyway.

rich, again I was wondering what a whippet frame would be like, what forks do you use ?

SIDs. 100mm i think. I believe it can take 120mm though.

Part no’s 4S1 9803 in 272mm, 4S1 9804 in 272mm, can be ordered through just about any bike shop from Madison.

Any idea where i might find them online?

Switch the frame for a Whippet? Exact same geo as an Inbred, but carbon. I’ve been riding a SS Whippet for nearly 2 years and love it. Mine is 22-23lbs without any real effort to build light.

MIne’s going back. Seems nice quality but the Medium fit is a bit weird on my 6’2″ gangly frame.

Please report back when your booty arrives. Keen to know about fit, especially arm length and ‘flappiness’.

Should have got one of these and fitted it with drop bars, instant f*nny magnet!

Mine is a Yamaha…so i’m halfway to fannytopia???

Won’t derestricting cause issues with law and/or insurance??

Bit of interwebbing answers my question. Yes, +30mph = light motorcycle and requires different rider licensing.

It might be a good idea to get some lessons/training anyway if you have never ridden a motorbike or moped before. It looks pretty good to me, what’s the engine size?
    POSTED 20 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

Only a 50cc. Max speed around 40mph, limited to around 30.

No shortage of confidence – that’s most likely to be the issue! Just looking for the benefit of wisdom.

No need legal requirement for a CBT, i’ll be just hopping on and buzzing about, hence the request for advice, e.g. are you supposed to jump to the front at lights and sit dead-centre like you do on a cycle??

Thanks Martymac – that’s my usual approach on 4 wheels.

Did you take the BB out & replace it yourself? Is it fairly easy without special tools?

Yep, dead easy on a Whippet frame. I think it may have gone in by hand…but i do have one of those cheap homemade screw-rod press tools i use sometimes.

I did 100k today and was fuelled by water, soreen and a jam sandwich. :-)

Best thing though was the benefit of a good nights sleep. THE most important thing i reckon.

Same thing happened to me – same bb and same crank. The fit on the drive side is very tight. My drive side cup came out with the axle though…but took me ages to drift/hack half the bb off the axle. No scoring on the axle though. Good luck getting it sorted.

    Any picture of it?

Pic’s would be helpful for other LEV owners as i’m not quite sure what has happened to yours. Did your bolts come loose? Mine’s a month or so old and the saddle clamps bolts did come loose once a few weeks ago. I tightened it back up and been OK since.

I have a SS Whippet with horizontal dropouts, a normal QR wheelset and a single chain tug. All has been working perfectly for over a year. Email me and i can help you out. :-)

Mine is installed without barrel adjuster and fine so far. I had a bit of play in the lever and a few rides later i had to take a bit more out the cable because there was too much slack in it (post stopped extending). All fine now. Return gets a bit slow when it’s dirty but a wipe and some Fork Juice returns it to normal.
