Try experimenting with saddle height. I did 35 miles at the weekend with my saddle an inch higher than normal and my knee hurt for a couple of days after.
Thanks again. Might all be academic though. After several emails (to check spec)with Leisure Lakes Bikes yesterday i ordered. 24hrs later they emailed to say the forks are unavailable!! For f…..!!!!
SLX all the way. Installed SLX shifters approx 12 months ago, originally with a Deore cassette and more recently on an SLX cassette (Shimano chain) and they have never missed a shift.
Add me to the list. Shopped with CRC a couple of weeks ago and someone has just attempted a £799 spend at John Lewis (online). MBNA spotted it and it was never auth’d. No cost to me, just hassle of new card and having to set up online servicing afresh.
Glad i’d already spotted this thread or i might have got quite paniced when they called today.
I second, or third, or whatever, the Van Damme suggestion. Cheap, capable and very well regarded by those that know, or have nothing better to do, or whatnot.
I’m very interested to find out how a quality steel frame feels compared to an aluminium alloy one – the engineering sceptic in me doubts it’ll be as big an improvement as when I stuck some proper tyres on the Boardman but I’m hoping I’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Alex, You’re very welcome to to have a spin on my P7 when you’re up and about. I’ve recently added Flows on Pro 2s and i’m lovin’ it. The newer SC has hardly had a look in. Glad you’re keeping your mind occupied :-)
I bought spares online because i knackered thr heads on mine using fractionally too small allen keys. Just from memory i think it was ukbikestore. Have a look, come back if yiu have no joy and i’ll try and dig out a receipt.
Sound quality is head and shoulders above the rat-a-tat-tat tinny norm. Dunno how big your garage is but they fill larger spaces pretty well considering each spesker is only a few inches high.
