Great idea and love how small it is. Just want to know the answer to the first questions most people want to know (which isn’t listed on their website or in this arrival), what’s the peak NM torque and how much does it weigh?

With now both SRAM and Shimano having 12 chains and cassettes that can shift very well under full load, why does SRAM’s top of the range cassette cost £645 and the chain is £160, where the XTR one costs £330 for the cassette and £60 for the chain. Why such a difference? It’s insane!

Another con missed in this review is the clutch in them lasts about year then it’s shot. That extra bouncing you mentioned destroys the non adjustable clutch until it stops working and then you start dropping chains. I’ve seen this multiple times. Fortunately the warranty is pretty good with SRAM and they do send you a new one, if you can prove it.

9 grand for that bike is insane. You can get a good ebike with better spec for less than that. I know prices are going up, but that is mental.

The only bike I’d personally be interested in is the Big Wig, as I love 29 wheels and steel hard tails. However, the sizes listed are medium, large and XL, but the reach numbers read like they are for a conservative small, medium and large bike.

I do feel any XL bike with a reach less then 505mm isn’t working for people over 6ft2. I’m 6ft3 on a bike with 522mm reach and it’s the first bike I’ve ridden that really fit me. Just because some brand make them that short on XL it doesn’t mean it’s right.
Also stack height is very over looked in these kinds of things and so is chain stay length. If you have a bike with the same chain stay length on the XS across to the XL, that bike is only really designed for the medium rider, as it will ride differently for each height.
Also a small shout out to steepening seat angle for taller heights. All this makes a huge difference.

Ultimate cheat code, IAMANENGINEER, then everything is possible and everyone else is wrong, even if it is still broken and can’t be fixed.

I’ve had 2 Ford Galaxy’s found them to be great. I could get my very long XL 29er in without taking the wheels off. You can easily fit severa bikes inside, plus fit roof racks and tow bars. They are very comfortable, especially on long journeys. Pretty good on fuel, cheaper to tax, insure, handle well and very reliable. I’m a big fan.

My country has made terrible decisions in this Tory era, so no, not the biggest fan.

The Carrera is for the time you own the bike. As for Bird, I own it’s a lifetime warranty that’s transferable to someone else if I sell the bike.

£5,900 and it’s only got a 5 year warranty. Even a new Carrera comes with a lifetime warranty these days.
Not much faith in your product.

There is a chap called Mark Colchester Bike Park on Facebook, who has just start turning Chitts Hill/Iron Latch Woods/Halstead Woods (all the same place) into a mini bike park. There has been drops, jumps and Singletrack there for a while, but they have already started adding to it. I was there last Wedneaday and they have added a very jumpy track finishing with several berms, plus there is are a couple of singletrack options running through the woods. It’s not big, but can be linked up with trails in Hill House Woods in West Bergholt, Lexden Gathering Nature Reserve and up to the Hilly Fields, with minimal road riding. I managed 22 miles the other day linking all of those together.
Don’t both with High Woods its really dull and full of loads of dog walkers.

It was a bloody great day riding. I loved every second of it, even when I went over my bars and when I washed out straight into a tree. Nick was a great guide. I knew about half the guys there, but met some top chaps too. Hopefully ride with you guys again some day.

They are great. I needed a new headset putting in and a couple of other bits doing that I didn’t have the tools for. I rang round all the big places in London and they all had 2 weeks plus waiting lists. Rang these guys and said bring it in. the work was done beautifully and at a great price. I don’t live in London anymore, but I would consider taking my pride and joy there to get any work done by these guys.
