You have seen this in ‘rel life’ (apologies for having a bash)

    Man up.

I’d already worked my contractual 1820 annual hours by August and don’t claim overtime. I could get up tight about it and kick up a fuss but I focus on the benefits of being employed at the moment- I know plenty of small business owners who are struggling, and based on the Autum statement delivered onTueday looks like it will get worse before it gets better.

I don’t speak yoof, what does “Wack” mean?

Oi, I’m no youf. Just trying to articulate my point in a ‘hip’ and ‘on tend’ manner!

    Wack=

    Adjective – very bad

I can’t believe the mods are continuing to argue the point.

    Nested quotes are Wack
    Avatars are for losers
Quote counts etc are for boring cheap forums where people post crap to push up post count.

This is the only forum I frequent, looks good on Mac/pc/iPad and phone, so why change.

I really like the clean look rather than hundreds of sub forums.

Thanks to STW and Mods for providing a great easy to use forum!

Ive had the following full sussers over last couple of years rode in spain/alps etc:

Five Am with 160’s (apologies for length of stem, hadn’t fully realised benefits of short stem)

    Mojo with 150’s

LTc with 150’s (switched between air and coil shock)

Really wanted an Alpine due to simplicity/robustness/length/geometry and my HT’s were being ridden more etc etc so sold the LTc and haven’t looked back.

Weighs 32lbs – Raw, XTR 1×10, tubeless wheels, reverb, coil shock etc etc

I now ride this more than my HT even on local routes. Performed flawlessly in Alps and is great for local techy trails. Feels like a mini DH bike due to the confidence it inspires. I’m 5 11″ and the 18″ feels great with a 50mm stem.

Where do I get one of those stress relieving flying dogs?

You can have mine, he is taking up too much room on the sofa ATM!

I’ve felt same over last month due to work. Chest pain, short of breath, extremely irritable with friends/ family and not wanting to exercise.

I realised I was suffering with stress- which I now know is the first step to dealing with it.

Forced my self back into the routine of commuting to work, been out on MTB a few times and made sure I took my little man out for longer walks:

Got through last week without any chest pain.

I’d say get out with your dog, get on your bike and make sure you have some ‘you’ time.

Hope it all works out for you though!

Personally I like the 36t option.

    Love the tags above :-)

I have one of these as an ‘outdoor’ watch

Carbon bezel and sapphire glass sold it for me (had a luminox previous but glass scratched as was mineral and numbers came off bezel)

This is my ‘do it all’ watch costs a bit more but I love it, very robust but can be dressed up unlike the traser above

Mine has the B&R rubber divers strap though:

On my alpine 160 I run:

I run XTR 980 cranks with gamut p20 and renthal 34t ring
    Xtr 10speed rear mech
    Xtr 36-11 cassette
    Xtr shifter
    Gold e13 single ring bolts

    On my soul

Run Xtr as above but with 34-11 cassette
    E13 guide ring 32t
    MRP x1 guide
All important Gold e13 bolts :-)

    This was mine.

    I’M 5 11″ and it fit fine.

It was ok but considering the amount of money it cost to build i think i expected more. Much prefer my Alpine 160 as my ‘all mountain’ bike.

I rode it all over including the big mountains southern spain so feel like during the 10 or so months i got to know it.

Id happily throw it off drops and jumps even though the frame is pretty much 100% carbon, only issues were around the lower bearings where rocks had started to smash some of the carbon away actually exposing the bearing housing.

I had both coil and air shocks but actually preferred the air, id say that the bike (or suspension platform) isn’t the plushest out there but would say its quite efficient.

Mine weighed around 31lbs in the above guise but that front tyre weighed 2lbs

I run 1×10 on my Alpine 160 (weighs 33lbs) and 1×9 on my soul (25lbs)

I would not go back now. Rode CYB and penmachno last weekend, ride in the peaks on a regular basis and my local riding is around calderdale and that is hardly flat.

As said above it depends on how fit you are (coming from a SS background would help)

I know its not in your shortlist but I use MRP x1 on my soul.

It’s been fine so far not dropped chain once.

Don’t like trail centres apart from the convenience.

    1) Inners
    2) CYB apart from stupid descents on fire roads
    3) Penmachno

I’ve had an equilibrium 20 for the past month or so.

I run 25c tyres and full guards and absolutely love it, it’s used as a commuter mainly but if I fancy a bad weather training ride it’s perfect.

It weighs 20lbs and can safely say I enjoy riding it more than my previous road bike (16lb merlin metalworks/ full dura-ace etc)

Not sure I’d take it off road with the std forks though.

I use Hope Race levers paired with M4 callipers – The levers are by far the nicest feeling levers I’ve put my little mitts on :)

I have heard that the race brakes are underpowered compared to other ‘xc’ set ups

Yep lucky/unlucky enough to have flown a Tucano

Regularly end up on a turbo going from LBA to Glasgow.

As said above civilian TP tend to be smaller hence ‘washing machine’ ‘buffeted’ comments above.

I use a flea 80% of time but have a joystick and Diablo if I know I’ll be working late or setting of very early.

It’s excellent for size and USB charging is another positive.

I dunno about finding the 2012 versions but there is no change from 2011.

I bought a E20 2 weeks ago and LOVE it. I have fitted full mudguards and commute to work (22 mile round trip) every day (never commuted before).

With guards my bike weighs 21lbs which some would say is portly for a road bike. My last road bike was a bling merlin metalworks Ti jobbie with full dura ace and weighed 16lbs – I prefer this bike

Feels just as fast for 80% of my riding and descends like its on rails (I nearly asked the mrs to give me some uplifts it’s so good)

I’m defo going to buy some nice wheels for it before summer to see how it fairs in a few sportives. Hope you get one sorted!

I had this. Then realised I’d mounted the ring on the outside of the spider. Mount the ring on the inside of the spider??

Yes it works. Imagine you get 3 hours out of it (same as joystick as both are single cell) – I just plugged in for a min.

Those nipples did my head in. The same thing happened to my LTc and the GF’s LT2 and another LT2 I had.

I ended up with 3 grease guns all with nipples stuck in the end!

We once drove an hour each way to pick up some replacement nipples and when we got back we had been given the wrong size!

Suffice to say we don’t ride SC bikes anymore.

My gf had a LT2 and I had the LTc- both really nice bikes. Mine was actually heavier once built so I wouldn’t be getting one for the weight saving.

I thought the bike rode well but didnt do anything brilliantly IMO. The mrs rides a carbon meta 5 now and prefers it especially when descending.

If you have the cash go for the LTc and you can bling up over time.

I must have eagle-vision, nice bike but I’d recommend some bar-ends.

Within 5 mins of the bike being home it had end caps on. I’d just got down some super tech double slippy gnar and managed to ping the cap off on a particularly tight section. I was just happy to get down with my life 8)

oxnop – how you find it with the light unit and battery on your lid ? I found the light alone a touch weighty..

Dunno, only bought the battery a few hrs ago. I can’t imagine it makes much difference though.

Only used the diablo once on the lid and I couldn’t really tell it was there. Also bought the missus a White eye add on to take her joystick to 480L.

    oxnop

I have both. Diablo is way brighter.

Just bought the single cell battery add-on for the diablo which I think it takes the run time on full to 2.5 hours.

Not sure what the tell tale signs are that I will have done long term damage?

    How did you guess? :D

I’ll bare them in mind if my mate can’t sort it. I presume we will know pretty quickly if I’ve done major damage.

The car was pretty much empty and I filled up with unleaded!

Engine was on for about 2 mins and then cut out. Didn’t realise until the RAC man turned up and the other half found the receipt……….

Still can’t believe it, both are vehicles are diesel so no reason to make the mistake.

    Cost about 20 quid.

The soul usually steers v nice at 120mm.

I run a 70mm zero rise stem with 710mm bars and defo wouldn’t want to go longer, if anything I would go 60mm.

As said above, imagine your belly button is a laser that points where you want to go, bike will follow.
