Me and the GF just got back from the world famous bingley bash (our local ride).

Perfect snowy conditions over moors and not too much ice. Wish I had my camera as the light was "just so" today.

    Happy new year everyone!

BK are not a bad brand- all manufacturers have to achieve a certain safety rating with their road legal wheels.

You'll be fine with these but the VW fanboys won't be happy as they are not OE equipment!

Has anyones Roberts radio turned up yet?

Mine was due yesterday and it didn't come & the courier states that my tracking ref doesn't exist!

Spoke to a guy at the coop electrical who seemed clueless and promised a call back, which didn't happen.

    Have I been done?

Please put my mind at rest and tell me yours arrived!

Yeah I'm not expecting to get the alu model (pro) for £400!

My mate went skiing for 3 wks and left me his 2mth old pro- I always said I would never have a mac but within 10mins of booting up I was sold!

Good luck with your search though – if you see anything I might be interested in just drop me a line. And I'll do the same.

Yeah, I'm looking every day on eBay for deals.

I'm not even too bothered about the pro – a "recent ish" MacBook would suffice.

Ideally wouldn't want to spend more than £400.

I dunno, but I'm after a second hand MacBook if you know of one going.

I could of bought either- all my mates have 360's so chose that.

    Get whatever your mates have.

I had an alpitude but now have a 2009 chameleon as my HT.

Found the alpitude a little too small – I'm 5 11 and had the 18". It felt like I was perched upon the bike rather than in it (if you catch my drift!)

the chameleon i built weighed 4lbs less than the alpitude, which made a fair amount of difference.

As said above – the data network has been on and off for about a week.

    Really annoying I might add!

I love mine, had it for 5 yrs and still looks great – despite being warn nearly every day 6 mts of year for dog walking duties.

Just bought a berghaus pertex/primaloft jacket to replace the buffalo for cold belay duties – easily as warm but stuffs down to the size of a tennis ball. Which is a big plus point over the buffalo.

Yep. I had a xen and bought a kaos. My mate got the xen and then bought a kaos.

The kaos (I have the standard kaos) is better vented IMO. I only had the helmet for a few weeks then sold to my mate as I didn't like the way it looked- he then bought the UL kaos a few weeks later – so that might tell a story.

I have a Kaos, best helmet I had- I'm a medium in the xen and havoc & I bought a medium in he kaos& still have loads of adjustment each way.

    I agree – silly comment!

My GF didnt approve of the honda as there was no room for our dog! Quite enjoyed the test drive though!

I bought it from Newport (im near Keighley) a 250 mile journey back and the car was showing 37mpg – I was driving quite slow initially waiting for the GF in the van & getting used to the DSG so maybe 160 miles eco driving & the rest spirited driving. Cruise control really helped the MPG.

My daily drive to work is about 15miles and I have been getting about 29mpg – this includes sitting in traffic for maybe 50% and country lanes 50%. My 1.8t Audi was getting about 24mpg on the work run.

I also considered (and test drove) a newer A4 avant 2.0 tdi, 330d coupe, S2000 and a 123d m sport and im glad I chose the golf – quite understated and seemed to handle the best. + it suited my age better i think (im 25!)

    Good luck

Ive just gone from (last wk end) a 1.8t sline a4 avant to a 07 3dr dsg gti.

I cant tell you how happy I am – My mate said that the Mk5 GTI was boring before I got it (he drives a focus ST), but after driving it this lunch time he aims to get one before Xmas!

Comfy and practical when it needs to be – but a complete hoot when i want it to be.

I was set on a mk5 R32, but after speaking to people who have owned one they say they dont miss the 21mpg avg they got in the real world!

I had a GT TDI for 2yrs before the AUDI and im not going back to diesel again.

    FS Ideal Mtb vehicle!
    an audi a4.

isn't a a4 avant with roof bars an ideal mtb vehicle? I thought it was when I bought it and untill we bought our van as a second vehicle which is purely for MTB'ing it was fantastic.

Get 4 bikes on roof or 4 bikes in back- comfy, quick and safe?

For the record Avant = estate

I have just bought a 07 GTI (picking up next sat) and I think yours is priced really well. If I was after a 5 door I would have given you a shout.

I wouldnt ebay it yet, id keep with piston heads and all the free sites. Just bear in mind its coming up to xmas and I think normal people will prob start buying in Jan.

I bought a xbox elite 2 weeks ago, with the hdmi the picture is fantastic (way better than the scart I used when I last had an xbox.)

I wanted a ps3, but all my mates have xbox's and the whole point for me of buying a games console was to play games with my mates. I thought I might want the ps3 and was offered a slimline ps3 for cheaper than the elite.

Bought modern warfare yesterday and it's amazing – my gf thinks I'm sad as I'm 25 and playing computer games!

Sod it! Call me daft, but I've just ordered a Lumi HID from their clearance section @ the bargainous price of £120. I reckon that's got to be worth a punt instead of some cheap chinese crap!

I've just sold mine for £125!!
They are bonkers bright, but rather tightly focused……..

    actually £107 :-)

when I was looking for a second light for my gf budget was not an issue. I already own a l&m arc ultra and would not consider a led unit at the moment – BTW I only paid £110 for my l&m arc which retailed at £450 a couple of years ago!

HID'S are great and last well as long as you lookafter them.

I've got a 2009 chameleon and I built it up with 454 Air pike uturn's(recommended by someone on here who had tried 3 other forks on the frame and decided that the burlyness/adjustability was ideal for the frame) .

Even with a burly'ish build it still 'only' weighs 27lbs which when I was building it was it's target weight.

BUT my GF has 2010 relelation team uturns on her blur lt2 which are excellent (but expensive) Which I would love to try on this frame.

We bought a 2005 1.3cdti combo with 50k miles about 3 mts ago for 2.5k, just for mtb duties. Have not looked back since.
Fits our bikes in + spares and camping equipment + much more secure when you call in pub after ride.
Recently put £47 in to fill her up and got 540 miles which is better than the 250 miles my Audi does for £50.
My GF loves the drive as it feels like a go cart.

Once you get a van you'll wonder how you got on before.
