Manningham concrete- they used to have all the gubbins to make their own upvc units but have recently started using another company (who are *well known* in Bradford and will charge you 40% more if you went direct)

We had 7 windows and 2 doors fitted recently and paid 1.5k less than coral/safestyle were charging- Safestyle/coral don't know what to charge – their own sales man said so – he said if I left it a week and then call him on a Tuesday (when his sales manager was in I'd get a competitive price). I'm not a fan of such sales tactics and believe that companies should offer you the best price first time.

If your nice they will also put you in touch with a local fitter who is great and will do the job for cash (if that's your thing)

Mine used to be like this:

Until i called BT, the engineer said there was a gas leak which was leaking into the central mains box!?!?

    Now i get this:

Maybe you have a mystery gas leak in your central mains box (i thought i was dreaming when he was telling me!!!

    oxnop-thats one sweet build.

cheers- it was great for the descents and messing about on mini DH stuff. I sold the frame and forks a few weeks ago, all other bits now on this:

which descends and climbs better (IMO)

I had a 36t on my 2009 five AM- no probs at all.

I had one for about 3 mts. Bought it new for a good price (£900) – I didn't get on with it – i had the 18.5 inch version and found it too small (I'm 5 11") to be comfy on all day rides. I know a few people who use the alpitude as their only bike and really like them.

Btw – check the welding as mine looked as though it had been welded by stevie wonder (so bad that other riders would comment!)

I read it as those with cats spend waaaaaaaaaaayy to much time working, rather than those with dogs who know how to get the work life balance sorted.

    agree.

But…. I have a job which I consider to be well paid (for someone living up north). It does require me to fly around the uk a few times each month and be away for 2/3 days at a time, on occasion i will work long hours too- luckily we have an understanding extended family which we needed to consider before deciding that getting a dog was the right decision.

Our dog allows me switch off from work & gets me outside on days when I'd prefer to have an extra 1/2hr in bed. Finn is now an integral part of our lives and I wouldn't change it – even if I thought that having a dog was having a negative impact on my career.

I've got a 2 1/2 yr old beagle – he is deffo a babe magnet!

When we move to somewhere with more space we will no doubt get another to keep Finn company (there is only so much rolling about you can do)

He is great – with structured training we have been able to ditch the lead!

I have just sold a 2009 chameleon – im 5 11 and it felt too big to be fun (large) and it was very harsh with a thomson post IMO!. only had it for 3mts – hated riding it.

    Very similar to my build.

I too have only rode 'her' 4 times now but the bike is amazing- I thought my orange 5 AM(with 36's) descended well but it felt dead in comparison to my SL. The 5 rear was over-damped and the 36's felt un plush in comparison.

I can't explain how much I think it is worth the money it's just great – I've got 2010 rev team forks on mine and I don't ever adjust from 150mm as it climbs great.

I just can't bring mysf to cover in heli-tape!

Kenda's go on with a track pump really easy- don't use sealant with kenda's it reacts with the rubber and will destroy the tyre.

As above – the alloy inserts are glued in so no facing req- i've just built a sl and the headset bearings just dropped in and I just screwed the bb in- just do it.

I'm over in oxenhope and have a 3gs on o2. I can't get 3g anywhere within the valley.

It wouldn't stop me from getting one though- voice reception is fine and use wi-fi @ home.

Tom lives in the same village as me and he does live right on the moors. The post office in the village is always closed and I would imagine it's difficult to get to a different one when he doesn't drive. Luckily I drive and work in Leeds/Bradford so I never use our post office for said reason.

He is a decent young lad so I wouldn't worry.

I've got ex1750 wheels on my bike, the hubs are basically the same as the dt Swiss 240 hub- the rachet mech sounds lovely and much less annoying than the GF's pro 2's.

You don't need to give up the jumps or drop offs! I've gone from a multi bike set up to just a mojo sl & I'm defo not going to give up drop offs (never could jump anyway)

My gf has a blur lt2 as her only bike and she loves it. Nothing wrong with Santa cruz's, can't see why people wouldn't like them.

I was advised not to bother with tomtom.

I got co pilot instead – much better reviews & only £25.

It's fantastic – auto updates on speed cameras etc

I was out last night with a few mates and a friends sister and dad fly for BA- she was telling me a story about a pilot who was sacked as when he was landing somewhere like ?marakesh? he said to the passenges – " we have arrived at marakesh airport(?) if we all want to turn back our watches a few thousand years" LOL

I didn't ask about the light thing though!

Cheers for all advice- realised the front mech I had would not work, so I'm off to get one as soon as the LBS opens.

Can't wait to get out it for a proper ride.

SAFK's- my wheels came with the 12mm and qr adapters & no RWS.

I've just built up a 2010 mojo sl with boostvalve this evening & my GF had a standard mojo with a normal rp23 which I had a very quick blast on.

I've just been out for a 'walk' with the dog and rode the bike – all I can say is that I'm very very impressed. Compared to my orange it seemed to fly up the hills – (I would say it's beagle fast on the ups and beagle x2 speed on the downs)

I am riding the bike on my local route tomorrow so will report back with what I think.

    shredder,

    How tall are you perchance?

I think ill have probs with the standard QR (coming from a maxle rear end) – should i upgrade to 10MM axle? (i think my ex1750 have the same hubs as yours) – if so, what do i need?

Also – what size rotor are you running on the rear?

Doesnt a Saint mech need a Saint hub ?

    Nope, its a standard fitting.

The weight above does not include chain (I need to buy one)but does include the tyres, tubes, cassete etc

Most of the parts come off the Five hence the saint stuff. Its all 2009 and has the blingy gold bits which I like (the shifters are actually lighter than some XT I had lying about & dont have windows, which i prefer) – I was going to buy a XTR chainset, rear mech & shifters when I bought the frame yesterday but i wimped out.

Im not going for a super light build (more AM) hence keeping the pedals, I only quoted the weight as I was so suprised.

Mrs oxnop had a mojo and now has a blur lt2 – she loved the mojo asking her she says " I felt like I could fly up climbs but still had an enjoyable descent" hers was a mixture of x0 and xtr so weighed 26lbs. But asking her about the blur lt2 she says – " I did love the mojo but the blur feels more confidence inspiring on the descents, i did notice the weight difference on the first ride but now I don't notice at all + I don't ever use the pro pedal when climbing) hers is a 2010 model with rev team 120- 150 mixture of xt and x9 & tech m4 brakes and weighs about 30lbs. She was also worried whenever a rock hit the mojo which always made her more weary of loose rocky decents.

She has really gained confidence while descending since getting the blur and can't wait to get back to sierra nevada for those long descents.

If it was me buying I'd go for the LT – I just wish her bike would fit me!
