My mate had been running 2xhighroller LUST for 2 weeks and decided he would like the supertacky version (as he thought that my supertackys were making me faster) he bought a pair for 70quid off the Internet – only to find that nowhere on the tyre it states that it's supertacky – he is gutted that he's now got 4 of the same tyres as they feel exacly the same as his 62a version. So I'd say 62a

Oh yeah I remember- you were on the White mythic ( looked nice )

yeah we missed the turn to head back over to llanberis – I think you two were stood by the waymarker – my GF ran back up the hill to ask if you knew the direction but you had gone back in the opposite direction- did you go all the way back up? Cos we didn't see you both again.

We did the llanberis up and rangers down – we loved the rangers descent. We cleared about 90% i had a big off on the snow on top!! – my GF cleared about 85% (without falling) of the descent – I was really proud until she decided to lean her forks against a wall and scratched the stanchion. Turned out to be an expensive ride!!!

Also – I've been up snowdon 5 times and it's never been clear. On Friday it was glorious and clear. Hope you get the same.

From what I understand you are saying, you are partly right and your mate is not wrong

im glad you understood my lack of articulation!

So, is it 'better' to make the turn at the drainage steps and drop in to llanberis- if not then how much of a slog is the ride back round to llanberis?

All I can say is that I won't buy another single pivot bike.

My orange was a 2009 so it was pre boost valve bear in mind.

The orange felt over-damped and a bit wooded in comparison. The dw felt great, rolled over sqaure edges perfectly (compared to my blur LTc which has VPP2) and felt very plush – it also climbed great (I never used pro pedal)

I rode with marco (ciclo Montana) in sierra Nevada and the decents are longer/more sustained/gnarly than in the UK and the climbs are bigger/steeper/longer than here and he said the 5spot was the perfect bike (his weighed 30lbs)
I was inclined to agree as he was ace.

One positive with the orange is that it only has 2 bearings and they are a piece of pi$$ to replace.

EDIT- I also believe that the 5spots have a slightly revised DW design which is better than the 5year old version on the mojo.

    If you want a viewfinder get a G1 – that's what I did.

Anyone got their rebate back from Panasonic yet?

I'd forgot about that- I haven't received mine yet (sent off 4 weeks ago!)

Effin ell Oxnop, you know when you wish you'd never asked…

How did it happen, Hope yer alright pal btw…

I have felt ok – I didn't tell Sarah until this morning (she made sure I went to A&E once she found out) but it's been really annoying whilst at work – i've felt strangely claustrophobic and a little odd since my hearing went.

I bought a jump bike on Monday (stupid i know @ 25) and had a slight accident on my first outing

Are you out tomorrow Dave? (we are meeting in Hebden)

I took a blow to my head on Wednesday and have been deaf in my left ear since. Couldn't get into my Doc's and was advised by nhs direct to go to A&E on Wednesday but didn't want to go whilst I knew it would be busy.

So maybe emergency to some people but to me it's not.

The last time I went to A&E I had fractured my spine from being knocked over by a 4×4 whilst on my bike. The time before that I'd been climbing in Italy for 3 weeks and was coughing up blood – Id lost 2.5 stone during my trip I ended up having double pneumonia they were emergencies. Both times I didn't go to hospital on my own accord – I hate the places.

Does that answer your question Dr?

    No it's not an emergency.

I asked the question at reception and was seen within 30secs.

    I love our NHS.

    Well done- glad someone has.

There is a porky troll with piercing's who works there and has the worst attitude I've ever experienced in retail. He must have litle man syndrome.

I bought some tyres off the net and rung up to check they had in stock before I set off to collect- I turned up and the aformentiomed troll was next to no help and said he didn't know where they were and just walked off. I waited 20mins thinking they were still looking. How naive am I – he just walked upto me and asked why I was still there. To say I kicked off is an understatement.

I've been down numerous times and asked for parts – basic bits like lube/power links etc for the young girl to just look at me and say that she didn't know what I was asking for and that the other staff were on breaks.

There is a point to it being made from carbon – I've just bought a Blur LTC (gone from a mojo sl) and once built up its actually a little heavier than my GF's alu LT2 (due to frame size and tyre choice).

Weight saving isnt the point – its about the increased stiffness and extra strength that using carbon has allowed – and yes even a mincer like me has been able to tell the difference.

The carbon blur XC was nearly as strong as the V-10 hence why they built a LT version – which is the strongest frame santa cruz have built (including direct impact)

So I imagine that the carbon Nomad will be even stronger.

Long story… My GF fell off her bike and smashed her head/helmet and busted her arm up pretty bal. We called my dad to pick us up as we were miles away from our car. On the way back from picking us up my dad hit a rock which smashed a hole in the sump and all the oil drained from the car. Which meant a busted turbo at best.

We had been given loads of quotes for over £1500. He ended up ringing a turbo specialist and got a recon turbo (they sent a courier to get the shot one) it cost him £400 for the turbo & £200 for the fitting.

It was a 2004 golf GT TDI BTW

Long story short…. no way it would cost over 1k to get sorted.

95% of the time i'm a SPD'er but have some AM40's for when i'm playing about on the bike – They are super grippy / reasonably weather proof & have the ankle protector.

    Id say get some AM40's

I was all geared up to buy a scirocco (2.0T -DSG) – we had a half day test drive, it looked really nice and drove pretty well (this one had the magnetic suspension thingy) – really small in the back. We ended up buying a 2yr old GTI DSG – it was nearly half the price and we actually own it rather than pcp'ing it.

Plus where I live all the old men drive scirocco's to try and look cool!

I've got some Kevlar/super heavy/super tacky downhill Hutchinson Barracuda's on mine (2.3- but seem way bigger) they went on no probs (after using soapy water).

They were a very tight fit mind.

I've had a range (mini's, xt servowave, SLX, Hayes stoaker trail, jucy 5/7, tech M4 and my new bike has magura marta SL)

all pretty good in my opinion – only set I've had issues with is the Hayes (bent piston)

My partner is from Burnley & i'm from Halifax/Bradford and we are both based in Leeds/Bradford with work – When we were looking for somewhere in-between we decided upon Oxenhope.

We have lived here for 3 years & its ace – when you work in a big city there is nothing like the feeling of getting away from it all. We both fly with our jobs so having the airport 40mins away is a big plus & on a good day we can be in the centre of Leeds in 40mins & Manchester in 50mins.

There are some of the best MTB routes in Yorkshire/Lancashire within riding distance of my front door & there is a diverse selection of 'normal' pubs & 'Gasto' pubs within walking distance.

Its slightly different from Oakworth/Haworth IMO as its a small village with plenty of open space/farms but it has all the amenities within walking distance from anywhere within Oxenhope.

The only issue with Oxenhope is that from a housing perspective you seem the either live in a cottage or a 7 bedroomed house (not much in-between) and you'll pay a premium for living here.

I went to buy some evo's but came away with the Kyle Straits. The Evo's were not as comfy & IMO not worth the money.

I do have the D30 in my gloves though – works really well.
