Sorry, work got in the way of ‘concentrating’ on bike builds. I foolishly ordered a Hope tapered reducer headset from On-one which will be going back this weekend. Bit annoyed about this as was ordered with frame and the on-one chaps said nothing, even though I spoke to them several time’s wrt the frame’s arrival date (getting hassle from ‘er indoors!). Some good threads on mtbr.com inc a link to a page on the Titus website which clarifies exactly which headsets are compatible with the FTM Carbon and X Carbon Frames

The bike will be running std 1 1/8″ forks so have ordered a 40 series Cane Creek combo with 52/30 lower race from Wheelies.co.uk. Awaiting delivery info from them and CRC.

My concerns come from last weekends fitting and break hose cutting episode (Shimano XT) on my bike (5.5 EVP :lol: ) which ended up with fluid all over me and the garage floor. I have done this before and have a vague idea what I am doing, so probably should just man up and get on with it. There is no internal tube/guide for the cable routing and need to get brake and gear lines through the same hole, so am anticipating a fair bit of wiggling…..
