I use my bike as a mode of transport. It saves on us needing a second car. I even use it to pick up my daughters and get some shopping so how is it not practible?

Why should cyclists give up the right to ride on the road just becuase driving standards are so low.
Its not safe to let lorries and cars mix so should we segregate them as well? what about pedestrians and those in wheelchairs or with buggies?

In answer to your helicopter q yes the box should weigh the same as the helicopters rotors will be pushing air down.

My last one lasted 2 years ish before the play got to bad. though when i took it off the amount of wear on the cage from where the chain passed on the jockey wheels i was supprised it never snapped.

£1 a mile as they didn’t ask first. I always put local delivery at costs when selling larger items.

9 miles each way 5 days a week plus i pick up my daughter from nusery 1 day a week which adds 2 ish miles and all the added weight of a trailer.
I intend to take longer ways home when it is lighter in the evenings as it gets a bit depressing riding in the dark all the time (which might be why i can never motivate myself to go out for a night ride).

The big problem for heat is getting it away from you hence the fan. I find that at the moment my bike moves as i use it but i think that is more to do with my technique (or lack of) then any thing else.

We have just got the soft gel one and it is not that noisy in use. You will get very sweaty when you do use it

we still use ours even though our 2 are now 6 and 2 though we only use it in the kitchen is 2 floors down as we live in a town house. I would agree with the others that in a normal house you don’t need them and deffinatly don’t have it in your bed room as you will wake up at every sound.

I use ust rims with non ust tyres (Mavic crosstrails and Michelin/Specalized tyres) just fine in fact getting any tyre off the rim once its on be it with or with out tube is hard work as the tyres really ‘pop’ onto the rim (sounds just like when they fit car tyres).

Another tubeless convert here though i do carry a couple of spare tubes and have had to use one once when i sliced the side wall. I fixed it with a glueless patch once i had got home and ran it for a further 9 months before replacing the tyre with a new one due to wear.

There seems to be a fair bit of damage to the freewheel splines as well.

I had lawer tabs on a bike in 1992 which is long before discs in fact it was before vees even.
They have brought in the angled dropout to counter act the whole disc thing (if its true as i have ride with a lose wheel and it didn’t get flung out).

RR do fire dead birds into their engines when they desgin and test them but i think that it is turkeys that they use. Thhe test is ment to ensure that the engine will still opperate after a bird strike but it doesn’t offer protection if you suck in a flok of birds as they suspect here.

I always listen to music when commuting. If it was loud enough that the first i new of a lorry etc, was when it was level with me i would be worried i was deaf. I find the noise from the air to be just as loud when riding at speed on the roads anyway.

But, when rpesenting it (particularly in writing) her thoughts become jumbled and broken. It makes sense to her, but is confusing to the person reading/listenting.

How about if she reads back or listens to a recording of herself?
When i do this i nearly always read it as it seems in my head and not what is acctually writen on the page it is only if i come back to it a week or more later do i spot the mistakes which can be a simmple as ramdon capitalization through to it being complete gibberish. There are times that i find it frustrating but for 95% of my life it doesn’t effect me any more than my colour blindness.

Mine is simmilar to OMITN wifes but i was 21 when diagnosed. At work i use my co-workers to check through what i have written (or even get i typed up for me) and generally get longer than you would in an exam anyway.

Also, people get injured mtbing – I’ve seen 4-5 serious injuries at QE where the ranger had to drive out and rescue riders.

Having been one of these i can say how helpfull the ranger staff were.
I like using the park as the start/finnish of my rides as it not only give a good place to warm up but also gives a better level of security for the car.
When i was up there on saturday you could see where people had been riding on the illegal trails buy the big skid marks that they were leaving behind them.

SLX do have servo wave but don’t have the adjuster.
A one piece caliper is stronger and the servo wave allows the pads to sit further from the rotor as it alters the effective length of the brake lever as you apply it.
