I have used my “the Captain” tyres in wales and the peaks as well as on the south downs in thick mud and they have been fine with plenty of grip in all conditions and they dont drag on smooth surfaces. the only thing i have found is that they can ping off rocks a bit but no worse then any other tyre i have used.

The bike should be up to that as they have good if heavy stuff on there as standard (IIRC mine weigh about 34lbs as standard).
I like mine and the way it rides and have used it both here on the south downs and also in wales and the peaks and find that its good at all espacailly with the u-turn forks.

SPDs do not give you a power advantage unless you have muscles popping out of every part of your leg as virtually noone actually pulls up with them on each pedal stroke for the vast majority of the time.
Handy for certain steep sections or moves to get you out of trouble.

Thats funny. every time i have tried flats i end up pulling my feet of the pedals as i always pull up on the pedals when climbing or accelerating for me its the whole point of being atttached to the pedal.

I have one of those (though with a few mods) and also got a good price on mine. They are a nice bike and he should enjoy it.

When you see someone unclip, midair, because they’ve just yanked the bike off the floor with their cleats, then not have the slightest clue what to do about it, before crashing and burning, THEN you’ll know what I mean!

I can bunny hop very well on flats (and even uncliped on spd pedals) but find that some times when using my spd’s that there are times when it is to late do anything but pull the bike up with the pedals. I found the bigest problem with flats was that when climbing and on the flat i would pull my foot of the pedal on the up stroke.

I did this on my car in december but decied that i would go for th ebest i could afford as it is the only point of contact and i want to be able to control my car. I got Michelin piolt primacys which have very good reports and so far i haven’t any reason to complain. ATS are currently offering 30% off 4 michilens as well.

Me and my wife are currently going to relate and it is a good time to be able to talk about how you feel and the counsellor will steer the conversation to a certain degree but only by probing at things. I feel that this is a good thing as it alows us to look at our relationship form a different perspective which haas shown us some things we had never thought of otherwise. Give it a go with an openmind as you have nothing to loose.

I always like the sings on roads that say “for xxxx use both lanes” rather than use either lane.

I find with mine , that to get a good seal you need to hold the wheel by the axel and spin it then let it go from side to side to coat the side walls in the sealent. I also find that riding them gets to stay up as well.

Every one gets ssp just like every one gets smp and sap so the state does pay. What an employer choses to offer on top of this is up to them but it is seen as a benifit just like extra holidays.

I have had a mountain morph for a couple of years and i have it for both MTB duites and commuting duties and can confirm that it pumps the road tyres up to 80-90 psi happily and will also pump up mtb tyres to 30psi. I like mine and it fits in my cammel back well (Mule).

I caught a bit of one of these the other day where they were looking at the new laguna coupe. It seemed to be the most pointless test i have ever seen.

I hit a pot hole the other day that wasn’t there the day before. Fortunalty for me it just took out my tubes and i managed to stop safley. I reported thia to our council that day and 2 days later it was fixed as it is a busy road. If you commute in the dark it is not always easy to see potholes that have suddenly appeared in the road.

I have had my crosstrails for over 2 years now and they are a great wheel. I could do with replacing the rear bearings at some point but other than that they have been fine and have handled some cack handedness on my part..

    It is a i-drive5.
On the original frame the shox mount was not in line with the rear.
At this time of year the floor always needs moppiing :)
It was a complete bike originaly but i had changed almost every thing and prefer to do it myself.

Just measured our laguna2 estate and the boot is 42 at it narrowist (which is the boot opening) and 69 ish to the back of the seats but that was a bit harder to tell as it is a pain to drop them with the child seats in as you have to take them out.

I wouldn’t recomend the Endura ones. I had to send the first pair back as the ziper broke and on the replacement pait i have had the one way bit of both zips brake and one of the velcro tabs at the top go. Other than that a ziper one is better as the velcro stops gripping at some point and they end up gust flaping around your feet, though i only use mine on road.

I used to run Juicy’s with mmy hope rotors on shimano mounts and i have now got xt calipers on the same mounts and rotors with no problems.
As said above the mounts are for the rotor size and the juicy caliper includes washers etc as part of it not the mount.

Wheen i lasted had a faulty item that i couldn’t do with out i checked that i could get a refund if i bought a new one and they agreed that the original was faulty before i ordered it.
It always pays to talk to the people/company involved as soon as you have a problem.

Coming in by mine this morning was fine only had one slip and got here before the blizzard came. Though the brakes don’t work so well when full of ice!

No abs system will work if all your wheels are locked but if one of them is still turning (such as hit a bit of ice on one side of the car) then the system will cut in and pulse the brakes.
It works by having sensors on all the wheels that look at the peaks and troughs in the abs ring and monitors the speed in relation to each other it has nothing to do with the speedo which gets its information from the final drive side of the gear box.
Different cars abs can be very different. I had a peugot where the pedal would sink when the abs cuts in but on my renault the pedal gets firmer.

IIRC a quote is a fixed price and if you make a agrement on it then it is fixed was as an estimate is just that.

You don’t need to remove the caliper on the Juicys but it can make it easier to get the pad out. I found using long nose pliers made it hell of a lot easier.

    owenfackrell

I have changed from Juicy 5’s to xt. I find the extra pad clearance on the xt’s to be very good and they feel less on off than the juicys it is also easier to change pads and reset the pistions in them. I am happy that i made the change overall.

Its kinda common sense(to me)to make yourself more visable and I have 2 flashing lights at the rear and one on the front on whether its is day or night

This is why i have 2 steady and 1 flashing light on the front and 1 stead and 1 flashing on the rear. I have been told be various people that i stand out but it doesn’t stop people driving like **** but then they don’t seem to notice me in my car either so may be i just have an invisabilty cloak of some type.

I’ll re-phrase then. You can legislate but all that will do is enable you to exact revenge.

The chances of being involved in an accident are so remote that people won’t modify their behaviour to reduce that incredibly small chance of an accident happening. Even if the revenge they face is extreme. So legislation can’t have an impact.

By that argument there is no point in paying for insurance as the chances of a accident is so remote, so i take it you don’t pay yours?
They will modify there behaviour even less if we don’t have means of punisment set out by the community in which we live.
