Top Gear pic, I see it, and now wonder what episode of Top Gear I missed, having Dave on Sky I didn’t think it was possible to avoid them all

It is the one where they go to a track in spain? and test the M3 RS4 and some monster merc thing.

There is a lot of bikes out there speced with them as standard though you do tend to see a fair number of RS forks though i don’t remmeber seeing an advert for them.

Would you drive at 70mph on a motorway in thick fog?

Unfortunatly if my experiance is anything to go by, when visability is reduced people seem to drive closer with out slowing.
My condolances go out to the family.

Fuel cells just remove the pollution from the citys to the power stations

No it doesn’t as fuel cells run on hydrogen and are considered to be portable power stations. You could drive your car then plug it into your house and power that. You can even drink what comes out as waste.

think the fact that you know that 99 times out of 100 you can brake HARD and corner like you’re on rails at the same time

it is electronics that allow you to do this not the chassis of the car.
I find that the worst drivers on the roads at the moment drive German cars in general be it for trying to attache them self to my towbar at 70, to not indicating at any junction or trying to run me off the road on my bike after he had to wait 10 seconds behind me (and spent the next 2 mins trying) when going to the local shop

IMO Carbon just doesnt have the weight saving needed to make the cost worth while. Same with bars and seatposts – the differences are minimal so I always wonder why I’d bother for twice the price.

With carbon you can ‘tune’ it when desgining it so with seat post and bars you can go for a bit of flex the same with road forks but you would desgin them to flex in one way only.
A good example of this is the flex pivot on yetis.
You cna also desgin a carbon conponet to be a lot stronger than alu or steal for the same weight. It is not all about weight saving but about using a material in a way to give an advantage.

Overstress a metal component it will deform

While this is true for most parts on a bike it wont deform very far before it snaps and you have to notice it first before it fails suddenly.

If you want to see carbon fiber standing up to rock impacts etc then look at rallying.

I have carbon bars on my bike and they are now comming up to 5 years old and still have faith in them.
I like how carbon never feels cold like metal.

The carbon forks on my commuter have stood up to me hitting a huge pothole at speed that took out both of my tyres with out a mark.

The only thing that has stopped me from getting a cf frame is cost though they way things are going at the moment cf is coming down compared to steal/alu/etc.

I do like how the frame appears to be bending when the swing arm moves.
I keep meaning to do one on the down tube looking back at he swing arm.

My understanding is that if you have to replace your licence for any reason then it has to be with a photo one. You don’t need to replace just to have a photo one.
You are required to keep the information on it up to date ie name, address extra and you can get fined for it being incorrect. As for the replacing it thing £17.50 is a dam sight cheaper than a passport after 10 years.

You dont’ need to use tubless tyres but they do make it easier. Getting the tyre to seat first time can be a bit hard with some tyres. I either use the air compressor here at work or get one side seated first using an inner tube. Use a bit of lquid laytex to stop annoying punctures. Carry a spare tube with you incase you rip a side wall of the tyre.

Stick with tubes: You’ll spend more time riding that way

Stick with tubless as you will spend less time stopping on trails to fix punctures.

On mine it sticks out at the back so you may be able to get a grip with pliers and turn it that way failling that use an easy out.

I have always liked these (though prehaps a little less colour co-ordinated)

And i really like how this looks like nothing else

And i think that all bridges look great just for different reasons

I have just changed the bearings in my wheels and got them from here[/url] the service was very good. I can’t help you on what ones you need though.

I have found that mine seized and after freeing it up they have been fine till i get a new one. I have thought about getting replacement bearings but i intended to get the bbb ones when i next need a new one.

I have been running my mavic crosstrail wheels for the last 2 and a half years and have never had to true them and have just replaced the bearings for less than £20 (proper skf ones). they are tubeless and iifc they weigh in at around 1800.
they can be found here for just over £280

if the kids who play outside the back of our house where we park the car were to damage it i would look to the pearents to pay for it ae the kids are their responsability and before you ask yes i do have kids. Just as the bloke if you can get a couple of other quotes though the price seems good to me.

Our trust offer you money to turn down your rights to a car parking permit as well as paying you a rate to ride in out side of your normal hours but as it is less than the car rate i tend to drive when coming in out of hours

From the first pic i didn’t think it was a crack but in the second you can see it inside of the drop out where there is no paint. I would surggest that it has been caused by inperfections in the metal itself and unlikly to be replicated on another frame. Have you any pics of the seat tube?

Having spent a long time looking at cars that seat more than 5 i fell that it is a shame that they went a way from cars like the old 505 to the mpv’s which don’t offer that much in the way of room with the disadvantge of how they feel like a van (to us at least) the sw does seem to fit our needs but after a try yesterday we found that we could only get our buggy in with one of the rear seats folded but that shouldn’t be a problem for a few years yet. Thanks for all the positive comments they are helpfull.

Sufer that is the one we are looking at. Found a 07 56plate one with 60k on for 6k it also has the extra seats. My feet are a size6/7 so no problems with pedals.

It is the face lift one we are looking at. We are after something with 6/7 seats but don’t like normal mpv’s as every one we have tried has been very van like compared to a normal estate car.

If you want to staer clear of baby things then i would look at some thing like a necklace or such but not qa ring as she shouldn’t be waring one at the mo or for a while afterwards. Another thought is a DVD boxset that you know she likes as this is what i got my wife and she ended up watching it when she couldn’t sleep.

Um, it’s an April fool, those children are not 8 months old.

I would agree as they would have been born early being triplets and haveing had a duaghter who was prem they take a long time to catch up. In fact those kids look bigger than my 2 year old.

The frame/shocks on the spec and giant are similar but they are deffinatly low when it comes to the rest of the kit but i would depend on if they are bits that bother you or not.

    owenfackrell

Maybe that is true of the cheaper ones but the ones that came on mine (which i sold on) were shimano 475 hubs with wtb rims and at the time were on a par with most bike of that price if not higher.

This was shot over easter and you can see the guy (called fish i think) working on it. I am personally not brave enough to try the wood work as yet but i does look well made and i found it worth a trip but it would depend on how far and where you would pass on the way.

The podge – where do they down grade on the GT kit? The bars and stems on the xcr5 are branded GT the seat post is a no mane but seems better than those on a lot of big name bikes for the same price and every thing lse is better than others at the same rpice.
