You should tell them. Some polices give you cover abroad but only at third party level. You will need to take your MOT and V5 with you incase you get stopped as well as the insurance cert. You will also need a spare bulb kit, warning triangle and possibly a fire extinguisher depending on country. You will also need high viz jackets for you and your passangers that you have in the main part of the car and not tucked in the boot. You will also need to get some headlight convertors.
You may be able to get away with out haveing most of that but if you get stopped you will be taken to a cash point to pay your fine.

The one thing I miss about not having my crappy old car and now having something new with a warranty that I’ll have to take to the main dealer for servicing is that I can’t give my business to Ted around the corner anymore

You are free to take your car to who you want for servicing as long as the service and parts fitted are to the manufactures specs. The are a lot of garges now that offer to levels of servicing the first is for cars less than 3 years old and the other for older cars.

No idea still! All was going well at the scan last Wednesday so they said they would just monitor.

Saying that, just had a call from my wife and she thinks her waters MAY have broken so we are nipping in this PM (on advice from the midwife) just to check. :-O

When my wifes waters broke there was no mistaking it! Hope it all goes well when it does happen.

As for the P&C parking i wish that they would move them further away as its not a problem to walk you just need room to beable to fitt your upper boady in the door and lift the kids out.

I haven’t ever seen a car which doesn’t say it has an air bag when one is fitted. I.E it would say on the dash its self. The spec list on Parkers doesn’t list one.

Had fun on this as well. I also only did the 50k as i was feel a little worn out after a very busy week. The woods were great as normal and the end of the gully bit no longer has that 90 degree corner to it.
It really chucked it down here in southampton last night which would explain the woods being quite so sticky.

I am waiting to see what the weater is like as i did it last year in the reain and managed to wear out both ssets of pads and destroy my discs. Though having done it for a few years (and the cold one) it is a good event so may go any way.

Gav that is the Sora ones. The tiagra ones now have the gear inicator window. I feel that the Sora/Tiagra are a bit higher than Alivio/Deore

..but only cos its a grade 1 all over

Surely that would up your percentage?

That was kind of my point.

    owenfackrell

Mine was 46% but some of the questions are daft any way, like the regular hiar cut mines cut weekly but only cos its a grade 1 all over plus others. it would be easy to get the score to go one way or the other to be honest

And of course in that time the rules have changed so you may not have need to get planning permission depending on size and location. But well done in getting it. Did you have to make many changes to the original plan?

It is a question of getting the volume right. I have mine set so that i can still here it fine but can here traffic above it. In fact the wind noise above 25mph drowns out everything. I use mine only when commuting and in heavy traffic and can still sense that cars around me. The only time car/buses/trucks etc make me jump is when i have driffted off in to my own world which happens regardles if i have headphones in or not.

I weigh in at 84kg and have been running carbon bars for the last 4 years or so and they have yet to break even though i have managed to crash a few times with them on, though the crash haven’t been that bad. Mind you i have yet to break anything in the way that is normal (or so it seems) for here.

My wife, how is only 5 foot 1 was driving our car down our road, which has parked cars on one side. A twunt in a evo comes flying up the other way and doesn’t give way to her so she beeped her horn to which he shouted out that if she did that again he would come over and kick her and our kids heads in (they were 5 and 1 at the time). This incident really shock her up but we couldn’t report it as she only got the type of car but i really want to meet him and ask what sort of big man threaten a small women and children.

I tried that mouseprice place and don’t think its any good for here as the house which are the same in my street all have wildly differing prices From £140k to £210k. It just seems to have taken the last sale price and add a percentage increase to it.

I have checked my 2.2 and 2.0 ‘the captian’ tyres and the measurements are 55 and 52 as far as i can tell so you should be fine with the 2.0s and they are only £22 a pair.

It’s not just at 90k the engines go, they’ve got a very bad rep indeed. Do a google search on it and it’s pretty scary.

If you do a google search you will see that it is the older (Pre 2005) ones that have the engine problem.

arent navara engines notorious for failing catastropically at about 90k?

That is the older d22 ones that have the 2.5di engine. the D40/D51 Navara/Pathfinder are ment to be ok engine wise but some of the first ones had clutch issues.

I would second the captains. I have used both the 2.0 and now the 2.2. I origanly got the 2.0 for a bike with reduced cleance on the back which 2.2 tyres buzzed the chain stay on and they gave me the cleance i needed.
I really like them as a tyre and have used them for the last 18 months or so in places from wales to the peaks and down here on the southdowns.
You can see the clearance on a pair of reba forks in this pic

We got just as wet from the rain on sunday as if we had jumped in a river but it was still fun.

my new Racing Ralphs were really, really slippy for the first 30 miles or so, Sunday was much less slippy even though it had rained overnight. I never appreciatted how slippy new tyres can be

I think it is something to do with the relase agent from the molding process. My specalized ones were really bad when new but are a great all round tyre now.

I have done in the past but didn’t this year. If it is anything like before then yes they do seem to cut parts of the race just a couple of weeks before hand.

I think that it is the go pro ones that you can chest mount. I have thought about trying to come up with a way to mount mine on th eshoulder strap on my bag so that it is not on my head.

Its does seem to suffer though it is better whenon the helmet i must admit and my new helmet that fits better stops even more of the vibrations.

    owenfackrell

I find that with the bar mount as well but the helmet mount on the forks seems to work better.
    Bar mount here
    Cammera on forks here

We got caught out in that rain early on and i can tell you it was not pleasent at all. I had forgoten just how much fingers and toes hurt when they get properly cold. Other than that had a good day out once the rain went away.

Another quick one to check is that the brighter bulb isn’t a stop/tail lamop and been fitted the wrong way round as i have seen a lot likt this.

How many of us have secretly scoffed at riders ahead of us, on an given hill, spinning like loons in the granny when they’d be far better off in the middle ring? Where you’re making better progress?

I tend to find that i can make better progress by not spinning like a loon by staying in my middle ring.
I have no problem using the granny and when i do i tend to change at the back at the same time other wise it is a big change in ratios.

Yes, down the Avenue in Southampton on a fully faired, long wheelbase, under-seat steering recumbent….

I always thought the one on Maybray King Way going downhill from Bitterne would be a good one.

I keep trying on that one but each time i hit a head wind just as you go under the bridge.

Flash where on the avenue is the camara? i Know that it is 30 from just past the Cow HErds but can’t think of a camara down there.

I have hit just under 40 just up before the whinchester road roadabout before now.

If your chain suck is on the front post cassette and chain change then your chain rings are worn ond it has naff all to do with what size cassette you put on there.

    owenfackrell
    Free Member

You simple can’t get chain suck from a cassette as you are pulling the chian off under high tension. You get chain suck on the chainset as the chian comes off under very low tension as it is only the spring in the rear mech that is applying it.
If your chain was being grabed by the cassette then it would snap. When a cassette wears you get rounded off teeth due to the way the power is applied to it reather than the hooked teath of a chainring.
I would just stick with it as it would be costly to sell it then buy anything else unless you are well off or really care about it like i said i prefer it as i tend to use 2nd/3rd a lot more as well as sticking in the middle ring.

With our sorting office it is next day that you can pick them up.
RRR is still posting on BM and over there they are questioning where the shock comes from and seem to think he may have taken it of a bike of his that may or may not have been reported as stolen but i am a little lost on that point. I just hope that those out of pocket get something back.

Hope/Aztec(though i did get vibrations though i think that was more to do with my frame)/and unex ones from ebay all work fine. In fact i haven’t tried the shimano ones with them.

It isn’t that you just get a 34t one though all of the rest are different.
    11-34T (as-group)
    Sprocket Sizes 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-34

    11-32T (aq-group)
    Sprocket Sizes 11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32

I find that i tend to use 2nd and 3rd much more with the 11-34 cassette than i used to.
