I got SID teams last year and love em, and I am not particularly light (just under 12st), I also mainly ride trail centers and the odd bit of natural XC.

I did upgrade from manitou splice though so anything would have been an improvement!!

I am on twitter, but I just follow a few people, never actually post myself. Some are worth reading, some are.

Facebook on the other hand is a great way of keeping in touch with people, especially I have lived overseas for a while.

no shipping is on top of that, think I actually paid more than that, cant remember as it was over a year ago. says shipping is $50 which is about £30.

i didnt pay any import duty, as he wrote "gift" on the box with a value of £50, but its a chance you take, you could get stung with it.

I got my (black/red) sid teams from ebay from this guy/shop:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rock-Shox-Sid-Team-100mm-White-Red-Disc-2009-New_W0QQitemZ120304670813QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCycling_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c02b7985d#ht_1244wt_785

hes got a white/red set without remote for £330.

    No problem in recommending.

Dont the SID teams without pushlock come in white and red? You can choose whatever colour you want, or are they only in stock in those colours?

You cant just wear normal clothes in these conditions though, you end up getting to work looking like a homeless person.

Mudguards stop some of the crud getting on you but not all.

What happens when you get caught in the rain, gonna sit in soggy clothes all day at the office?

Maybe cycling specific clothes are not essential, but a change of clothes definitely is, maybe just wear an old tracky & trainers?

Sorry for hijack but I have just changed from BT to SKy broadband and it is appalling, the signal keeps dropping out. The laptop downstairs seems OK (but slow) but the one upstairs keeps saying "connection timeout". And our iphones struggle to connect to wifi when upstairs. Didn't have any of these problems with the BT router.

I called customer service and they told me to change over the micro filters (I had just re-used the BT ones), but this has made little difference. The also told me to plug the router into my BT master socket as it is probably a fault with the slave phone point which is BS. I am tempted to cancel and go back to BT, but probably cant.

Anyone else having similar issues with SKY broadband. The signal strength seems to vary greatly from full bars to zero?

I was up yesterday and it was fine, if not a little wet.

Tiny bit of ice/slush on the fire roads as bigG says, but nothing to worry about.

There was a bit of ice/slush at the bottom of the fist rock garden on Cannonball run, but just dont break and you will be fine

As an aside I must say I am impressed with the changes. They could have made Kelpies staircase a little more technical, and only had the one chicken run round it but the rest of the changes to East Dubh and the Runway are excellent. Much more fast flowing than before, and thank god they got rid of most of the double jumps on the runway. Its very smooth with some nice drop offs, good stuff.

Just tested fusion jacket today in damp drizzly conditions. It was excellent, cant fault it except the price of course, but seems well worth it so far! Its so nice I didnt want to get it dirty, but the mud and water seems to just roll off it anyway!!

Ive got a cosmo windstopper on order. They are on sale at Evans, reduced from £160 to £99, bargain!!!!

I too am now a Gore bikewear convert, seems like great quality stuff.

Something that utilizes the GPS perhaps, although generally when I am on the mountain bike, the iphone stays at home/in the car.

Something that had trails conditions report, with updates on FC work/closures for trail centres, also a library of natural XC routes with maps, that you could print out would be good.

Pictures of you on the bike would be useful?
