Scots hate the english huh? I think that should actually Scots Football fans hate the english. I am half english/scottish, brought up in england but now live in Scotland, I have had no feelings of hatred towards me, ever.

You get the usual bit of banter/jokes around football, and thats why I am not a football fan. The majority of english hating Scotland fans are likely to have a lower than average IQ anyway.

If you hate someone because of where they are from, without actually knowing them, then you arent worth knowing yourself.

Dunno if you have different tap water to the Glasgow tap water I have, but mine's pretty much flavourless, super-soft (never get limescale) and better than any bottled water I've tasted!

perhaps me pipes are fusty then? snigger.

this looks close, but the stinger is way longer.

I think it is maybe a Ichneumon Fly

looks a bit like this too.

So if it is, does it sting, and should I let my cat eat them?

I thought that at first, but its bigger and the stinger/barb coming off the back of it is probably the same size as its body, along with 2 other smaller pointy bits. I have a really bad photo from my phone which I will try and upload.

Can anyone recommend some tyres for light trail centre use around the Sea of Tarnquility/Serenity?. The conditions are usually dusty/cheesy with some rocks.

I think from memory of my last (and only) speeding ticket, if you are less than 10mph over the limit you may just get a caution, over 10mph and it is instant 3 points and a £60 fine.

So were you doing 50 or 47?

Think it has a plain top, dont think there are any lugs. The frame also tapers in at the clamp position so I dont think the clamp would slip down.

Not sure how you ride with saddle permanently dropped, it makes the uphill slogs torture!!

My main worry is overtightening with a QR and cracking the frame, but I imagine it would have to be pretty tight to do that much damage?

My current seatpost is a 30.9mm, not sure what diam the clamp is tho.

You think I could just modify my current clamp with a quick release bolt/lever?

    [quotesorry you didn’t have a better time – think you’ll go back?[/quote]

Not sure, I prefer my MTBing a bit more fast an flowing, maybe if I get more confidence/skill.

Dont get me wrong we had a good day, but it was a lot more technical than I expected.

Even the water crossing which I was looking forward too was a struggle:

Really steep downhill (over back of seat), rocky approach, then a 2ft drop into a fairly deep river. Maybe if you had enough speed you would launch off the rock and clear most of the river. As I was on the brakes on the steep I didnt have enough speed and had to bottle it when I saw how deep the water was. it was this or over the handlebars in the river!.

I should go back and give it another try, I thought Laggan was beyond me the 1st time, but went round again and loved it. Things are different when you know whats coming/what to expect!.

Well I tried Comrie Croft this weekend and all I can say is… red graded my arse!!! Maybe I am out of practice but some of the sections were way beyond my capabilities and spent most of my time pushing my bike up/down sections. I regularly visit the red at Glentress, carron valley and the red/black at Laggan but found Comrie a little too much for me on my XC hardtail, more suited to a full suss I think? My GF also fell off a number of times and is black and blue.

If DEET rots clothes what does it do to your skin?

I also find eating Sh*t loads of garlic also seems to work. You might be a bit stinky when you start to sweat it out tho!
