THIS book is great, has 5k/10k/half and full marathon training plans and lots of other good advice, i see there is one used for £1.83, what have you got to lose? (apart from £1.83 that is)

    Whats a thudbuster?

This is a carbon frame so quite forgiving, almost like it has rear suspension!

Saddle does look a little far back now that i look at it?

Mine is definitely bike related as I am fine on my road bike for my daily commute, (except having and extremely sore arse this morning from saturdays ride).

My core strength is probably weak at the moment and i need to get back to my circuit training class.

I will have a play around with my saddle angle/position to see if this helps.

I am thinking the new "toro" may be the one for me http://www.exposurelights.com/newsite/ as its essentially the old enduro, or should I just go the extra and get the maxx-d?

Any experiences of how it compares to the Light & Vision Stellas, either the 150/200 of 300 set up, obviously not as bright, but any advantages?

I tried the SF shakes, the ones in the pre-mixed bottles, having 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch, with snacks of fruit, nuts, oatcakes etc during the day and a "normal" meal at night.

Lost about 10 pounds in 3 months.

    STATE OF THE UNION
Sweet dreams all met with derision
This train, it was armed for collision
    It's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
Clap your hands in the sparkle and glitter
Shake your heads at the twisted and bitter
Oh they don't know how lucky they are
    Foot down for the alienation
Look on as your love, its gets lost in translation
To a language that nobody understands
There are smiles as they erode and corrupt you
Of the great expectations you could never live up to
We are lost, we are lost, we are lost
get you coat, 'cos the righteous are leaving
'Cos they can't work out what the hell to believe in
    It's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
    No abandon, no heartfelt desire
No love could be worth getting fired
For real, it's surreal, it's so real
So paint over the cracks and then cover
What you thought was the worst ever pain with another
And the first one, it always comes free
How they love you so cold and so vicious
With friends like these, well who needs politicians
The first one, its always comes free
They tell you heroin takes like ice cream
Clever men know all that and all this
And they will talk and they talk and the don't **** listen
    It's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
It's no life but God, it's a living
Come on Jesus Christ, come back all is forgiven
We are lost, we are lost, we are lost
Have no fear of the state of the nation
Let the facts have no bearing on public relations
    It's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
What a model of Christian behaviour
Preach on with the message of "go **** thy neighbour"
    it's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
    it's a shame, it's a shame
Watch your step by the crowd of fanatics
While they kill in the name of applied mathematics
Hate the system even though you invented it
Go kill your brothers and claim self defence of it
Picking up all the secrets and tricks to being
One of the guys whom the shit never sticks to
Take you seats for the final calamity
Don't you look serious, hell, what can the matter be?
Another day and the rot's getting faster
And all the machines started killing the master
    it's a shame, it's a shame, it's a shame
    it's a shame, it's a shame

    Sapper.

This may be a stupid question but are you rotating your foot correctly when trying to exit the pedals?

I had a mate that got spds for the first time and kept falling off as he could get his feet out of the pedals.

It took my a while to figure out why until I asked him to show me how he was getting in and out of the pedals.

It turns out he was trying to twist his foot out by rotating the ball of his foot outwards as opposed to rotating his heal outwards, since nobody had actually told him this I guess it was an easy mistake to make.

Are the exposures really that good for offroad? They may be bright but from the photos the mounting system looks like the light would vibrate all over the place and doesnt look very sturdy?

I was looking at the light and vision 150L or 300 set but it seems for similar money i can get a lot more light output, the L&V defo look better IMO, but not as much power for the money.

Sounds good, Think I may go for the 150L now for commuting. If I get into more offroad night rides I could consider a 2nd hand set of 300's later and mount the 150 on my helmet.

The 150L may have to be an early xmas present, have to speak nicely to the GF, afterall she wants me to be safe on my commute doesnt she ;-)

what does the race mode do? Do you think there would be much differnce between the 120's and the 150L's? The 300 Dual seems a bit of overkill?

Trying to decide between a £150 set of lights or making do with one of these for commuting, but it wouldn't be any use for offroad Night riding.

I should have said its for a hard tail. I am not too worried about snapping the chain more the Derailleur so it should be ok if I just get the right chain length.

Going by the above figure of 45 then I dont think the medium is sufficient or is it ok as long as i dont go big:big?

The spec of the SRAm X.0 is as follows:

    Chain capacity: 45T long / 37T Med / 30T Short
    Max Sprocket: 34T
    Min Sprocket 11T

    calculations?

    suck it and see…

If I am going to be spending £140 ish on a new SRAM X.0 thats an expensive experiment that I am not willing to try!!!

    no its Perth, Scotland.

One dilema I am having is that I am running with the GF and she has a slower pace than me. So do I stay with her the whole 10k or break away after 5?

Problem is she has a sore achilles and wouldnt want to leave her if she was struggling.

I guess the right decision is to stay together and not worry about my time?

I know the wheels are heavy and was looking at Fulcrum Red Metal Zeros I will probably change the tyres to Continental Mountain King Supersonic or maybe Nobby Nics when I get the new wheels partly for weight savings but also because there will be just too much red going on with the RM0's. This will get me to ~9.7kg.

I was out running last night and got "attacked" by a dopey gold lab. Well not quite but I was a bit pissed off as the owner saw me coming towards them and the dog spotted me and started running towards me, luckily he was friendly enough and was just playing but still got tangled up in my legs and nearly sent be flying. The owner manager to get hold of it and I carried on running, only to find it running along behind me a few seconds later, tripping me up again.

Luckily I like dogs, if I wasnt a dog lover it would have gotten a swift boot in the chops, the dog too.

Owners do really need to control their dogs more.
