thanks guys I got the bugger, sore fingers though, will probably buy the tool to join my other collection of expensive 1 time use only tools!! :D

Seriously though, whats the advantage of this link?, can I just take it out and replace with a normal link? It seems like a "weak link in the chain"?

    ……… buy shimano next time

it came free with my sram casette, and I just measured my old shimano chain and it is over 1% stretched.

Is it better to just bin the powerlink and use a standard link? I have some spare as I shortened the chain.

by pus the plates together you mean if u were looking at the chain from the top you would excert pressure perpendicular to the length of the chain?

+ 1 for dualit. We got ours when we lived in the US, changed the element over when we moved home and it works perfect, spare parts are easy to get hold of.

hmm, I was after a red/black one too, but nervous about carbon crank arms after I skidded into a rock last weekend and my right crank arm took the full force of the collision (yes I know my pedals should have been level, but he rock came out of no where in the middle of a fire road and I wasnt paying attention chatting to my buddy)

yeah I thought when they took their suits off they floated, but at the end of episode 2 the guy is sat there without his suit and throws and catches a baseball, whereas when someone threw and tomato (or apple cant remember) it floated in zero G.

    I think they keep forgetting.

is it more difficult with dropped bars, your body will be in a totally different position if u are on the brakes compared to an MTB?

Only read the 1st and last pages of this thread, but my neighbor is on her 5th kid (devout catholics). I wouldn't normally have a problem, but they are making noises about extending above their garage to make another bedroom. This is going to completely block my view of the water and rolling hills. I may have to object to their planning permission, if that will even make any difference. :?:

Last time I was there in March it was blazing sun and blue skies and the snow had started to melt lower down the valley, I think it was pretty close to the end of the season.

Good to hear it has a decent amount of snow already, when was this?

5 days a week on the road bike for a 5 mile commute. Then sat or sunday on the MTB, but only about once a month at the moment. :(

I tried commuting on the road on my MTB and even though it only weighs 10.5kg I still struggled compared to the road bike. Not really any offroad routes to and from work either.

Do you have road specific shoes or mtb shoes?
