When i was an undergrad i remember buying loaves of bread for 7p in Tesco and value cheese for about a quid fresh chicken, pasta, fresh veg, tinned fish etc etc for a few quid. It is amazing how far you can stretch money when only eating cheese toasties well.

I love my Malt4, for me to go for another (non gnarr) Al 26er would be unpleasant to say the least – the frame’s a beauty. What sort of riding for jnr? The Merlin’s just about more capable than anything you’ve mentioned, why not something a little burlier or springy?

My friend has an X-Calibre that I’ve ridden a few times, it’s ok and the Paragon’s definitely nicer.
I think that I’m gonna wait for the Canyon though, it is lovely and I’ve only ever heard good things about their bikes.
