Thanks for that report  @orena45 I’d be interested in hearing from you if it comes back.

    @mark
Just went on to the front page, again on my work computer (Chrome browser, logged in to STW), for the first time since yesterday lunchtime, and got the privacy pop-up again.  Clicked ok and then the forum link and have not had it whilst clicking on any other links since…so just that one time again on the front page.

Was getting the privacy & cookie notice on every page whilst logging in on my work computer a minute ago.  Clicked on the STW Cookie Killer link but that didn’t sort it, so cleared browser cookies and now seems to be ok.

Had this as well this morning on my Android/Chrome browser. Just clicked on the STW Cookie killer link at the bottom ⬇️, logged back in and seems to be ok now.

Yep, just done this after my X01 mech jockey wheel and inner plate sheared off recently. Put a 12spd SLX mech on, paired with my GX Eagle shifter and all works perfectly 👌

Any one else getting an advert for ‘Mad Max Fury Road’ gambling on this thread (genuinely!)? 😆

Another vote for Rad8 MTB Glasses. Very clear for night riding and good for daylight too. Mine get used for overcast days, evening rides and winter commutes 👌

Well that didn’t take long. Good mate of mine who lives down there just did the whole thing in a day. Something for you long-distance freaks to aim for

And promptly got told off on the official Facebook group by one of the route’s creators for encouraging ‘in a day’ racing and anti-social riding, even though he did no such thing and was just providing some helpful info for anyone interested in doing it.

Review of the Laufey H30 on my blog if it’s of any help 👍

Been with my wife for 14 years. She’s a light sleeper, I’m the opposite and bit of a snorer. After moving in together, I would drop off to sleep straight away whilst she takes a while so would get cranky at me snoring and kick or push me. Me, having a lovely sleep, would then get annoyed at being woken by light ‘physical abuse’ (😜) and get cranky at her.

We sleep in our own rooms now and works fine. Definitely a stigma about, I’ve never mentioned us sleeping separately to friends etc but there’s no reason why there should be really. Do what works best for both of you innit.

Apparently, sleeping in the same bed is a relatively modern thing which society has forgotten about. That’s what she told me anyway!

Being local, this looks like a good route for locals and visitors to ride. Lots of it form parts of my local rides on the MTB or gravel bike. A few sections will need at least of month of dry weather in the spring before being rideable. Great to see the work gone into researching and using long lost roads/tracks too…that’s a big positive IMHO.

Anyway…good to see skinsuits back in DH! 😆

Just finished building my Trig up this weekend, first ride yesterday.

Can’t really comment on the comparison or the stock complete build so here’s a photo instead 😜

I’ll be there!  Afternoon start tomorrow which is nice as I can drive up tomorrow without a ridiculously early wake up!

I’ve the 2020 H30 and have upgraded several bits since. Really like mine – thoughts and experiences of it here on my blog.

A mate of mine (40+) did it last year and loved it so much, he did it again this year. Absolutely raves about it…. it’s not easy and the massive hike a bike over a mountain on day 3 (I think) is a killer but the stages more than make up for it apparently!

I would love to do it…maybe next year!

Two or three Ospreys flew overhead with a couple of helicopters this evening (Cornwall – G7 happening just down the road). Allegedly, Marine One.

    Was an impressive sound

Nope sorry, can’t remember. How does it work again??!

Got PMBA Graythwaite at the end of the month and genuinely fearing my ability to ride my bike at any pace after 5 months of mellow rides!

See you at the Champs 🤙

After 900 miles, I’ve put up my thoughts on the Laufey H30 on my blog. Might be of interest to anyone looking at these

I first went from 2×9 Sora to 1×11 105 on my 2013 CdF years ago. Swapped out the 50/34 rings for 42t ring initially but also had 40t and 38t since. Always kept an 11-32 cassette but that combo was fine for me for commute and road riding.

Have just upgraded everything to 1×11 GRX 40t with an 11-40 XT cassette and Ultegra RX rear mech. Needed to pair some MTB post mount calipers with the GRX levers to make hydraulic brakes work. Really happy with the change.

@mashr depends how much UV light is about. They go clear in the dark or indoors. If there’s a bit of light about e.g overcast or in the woods, they will go to a light tint. Bright sunshine and they go very dark.

I’ve never felt the need to take them off in low light conditions because I’ve felt they’ve gone too dark (apart from nipping into a shop briefly from outside in bright daylight).

Just upgraded my CdF to GRX shifters/brake levers, GRX crank, XT 11-40 cassette and Ultegra RX rear mech. Had to use Acera-level MTB disc calipers paired to the GRX levers as I needed IS/post mount for the frame.

All works excellently together which means I no longer have a decent excuse for a new bike 🤔

Yeah, they are massively annoying. But the obvious answer is obvious…pay up or put up!

I’m no longer a subscriber so just accept I have to put up with it.

Replaced the boring grey stealth decals on my new Pike fork with Slik Graphics Chrome a few months back. The hardtail was also a bit too stealthy for my liking!

I fancy a BFe Max also (frame only). Keep talking myself out of it as I love my Orbea Laufey but I’ve wanted a Cotic back in my life for some time.

Reviews seem few and far between other than the one above and the other one linked to on Cotic’s page.

Instagram is a good place for pics. A few of the blue and silver ones out and about but surprisingly not that many posted up. Maybe the first batch were very limited in numbers?

I do quite fancy a yellow one ☀️

access to this land is via right of way along a rustic vehicular track.

There is a right of way adjacent, but according to the local knowledgable FB ‘explorers’ group, the selling info isn’t quite correct and the bunker owner doesn’t own the land between it and the RoW, with no easement for access.

It’s an ‘island’ tho as there’s no right of access/easement across adjoining land apparently.

You’d basically have to parachute in each time!

Thanks funkstermasterp. Appreciate the offer of a spin but I’m in Cornwall so too far away, even in rosier times!

    Cheers Iainc also.

Yeah I’m not too hung up on 700c wheels on it tbh. Nice to have the option of a decent size though.

My C2W scheme provider will price match current sale prices out there, so it’s very tempting to get it at effectively 50% off RRP

Any ownership updates on this worth hearing?  Considering semi-replacing my 2013 CdF with a 2020 Fugio 30 on my work’s C2W scheme.

What are the stock wheels like?

Anyone on a medium with a 32″ inseam? Presumably there’s enough room for the dropper to operate.  Measurements look fairly similar to my 54cm CdF and I can’t imagine the dropper would have enough room on that.

Any more 700c tyre size experiments in the rear to hear of?

I was pleasantly surprised with the Recon fork that came on my Orbea Laufey. Sure, it’s basic and heavy but (consequently) fairly stiff! Took big hits pretty well but the chattery stuff wasn’t overly comfortable. Expected it to be a POS, but accepting it for what is was, it was alright really.

Have since upgraded to a Pike Select.
