Ay, looking forward to it! My first 12hr enduro – weather looks top notch for the weekend and looking forward to spotting the likes of Steve Peat, the Athertons and Hans Rey milling about!

    :D

ah, did do a search first but obviously missed it – thought it was strange that no STWer had picked up on it!

    Still…another chance to enjoy :-)

I’ve got a 5dr Asta SXi, typically get just over 40mpg on motorway drives and around 37mpg with a mix of motorway and town driving – I am generally light on the accelerator tho!

Haha, thanks ChiefP! Remember seeing someone with a camera take that pic actually, you obviously managed to get it in before I struck my ‘game face’ lol :D

So does anyone know which section(s) I missed out on – http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/8140833 (easier to see the route if you download it to Google Earth :-))

My Garmin 205 (GPS calculated) altimeter recorded 2300m of climbing (including the road to and from the campsite).

Just got back myself after my first Dyfi. Had a great time and loved the descents, although did have a couple of embarassing over-the-bars incidents! Also loving the music in Cafe Serene…not sure about Ren & Stimpy in the movie tent last night tho!

Only downside…all that mud has taken it’s toll on my 2 week old bottom bracket so gonna have to get another one :(

I was 13 then and watching it on our new (2nd hand) Sony TV, got it set up just in time for the race.

Remember that weekend vividly…the whole race weekend was full of terrible incidents not just the 2 terrible deaths. Barrichello had a high speed impact in practice/quali after launching into the tyre wall (narrowly avoided flying over it altogether), and a wayward tyre was sent flying into the crowd at the race start after someone went into the back of a stalled car on the grid…I think I mechanic got run over and hurt in the pit lane as well during the race. Tragic weekend from the start. :(

I’ll be taking a spare tyre now after hearing all these stories…sounds like the event should be sponsored by Gillette with all these razor sharp rocks about!

1st enduro for me too – no. 123. Heading over on Saturday, maybe riding Nant-Y-Arian with a few that day before heading to the campsite.

Really looking forward to it! :D

I replaced my Camelbak Mule bladder with a Deuter one during the winter and much prefer it to the original. It’s far easier to clean inside as access is easier and it also has a cover for the mouthpiece attached to stop cr@p getting on it – so prevents those mud/animal poo flavour sips of your drink! It’s also cheaper which is good :-)

Got mine from Wiggle – http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Deuter_Streamer_3L_Bladder/5360010138/

I’d say it’s worth it, at least once. Did the 2 hr trip over from Derby on Saturday and despite the ‘incident’ we had it was great fun! As chvck says, fast and fun but not technical – think of it like a long BMX track :-)

How’s it feel today Steve? At the bottom of that 3rd run, I expected you to be not that far behind so as I climbed back up the fire road and didn’t see you, I thought either you waited a while after me to go down or you’d stacked it. Got back near the top and saw you gingerly walking up and thought ‘oh b*gger’. What’s the expected recovery period?

Have you been storing it/the bike upside down at all? That’ll cause the lockout to stop working for a bit.

Point taken but if anyone ever broke into my place and nabbed my bikes it’d be because they either saw me ride to or from there, or saw my bike rack on the car outside, rather than wading through some of the rubbish posted on here lol ;-)

    However…

Note to any potential burglars reading this – everything is well and truly locked and alarmed at my place so don’t even bother, I would definately hear and would be on your @ss with some Bombers before you’d even realise!!!…besides you’re much better off going next door as they obviously have chav-bling which you’re much more likely to sell on for a tidy profit :-p

Derby’s Bold Lane multi-storey car park was once voted one of the top 10 most secure places in the world, alongside Fort Knox, Air Force One and Area 51!

I feel your pain flatboy, just got an email to say the SLX middle ring I ordered isn’t in stock – that was the main reason for me ordering a few items in the sale! Oh well :(

I only tend to take mine off if I’m driving long distances without the bike, to save fuel. Otherwise it’s left on most of the time – might rethink that now! :?
