I recently bought a Craft Cadence cycle commute rucsac. We have large 17″ laptops and I struggled to find a bag big enough. I really didn’t fancy panniers, particularly as my gravel bike is used more for fun rides rather than as a dedicated commute bike so I didn’t want to leave a rack on it all the time.

Bag is well thought out for commuting with lots of pockets for small stuff and for me, even with the heavy laptop, it comfortable enough for the 35min ride to work (would be much more comfortable with a lighter laptop I’m sure. Plenty of room for shoes, towel, full change of clothes, lunch etc, and fully waterproof.

Err…you’ve linked to the trailer and not the film itself?

The T-Rex was closer in history to the iPod than it was to the Triceratops

    This one isn’t actually true

Stegosaurus, rather than triceratops is the correct mind blower innit

Unlike some other steerer-stored multi-tools (OneUp’s EDC being the obvious example), the Stash RT doesn’t require you to take thread-tapper to your fork’s steerer.

Nor does the EDC necessarily, as there’s a threadless version too.

Meht/mate/matey, pard, shag, ansom, lover…is standard here in Kernow.

I tend to go with meht, mate and bud though

I provided a bit of MTB action for a Boxxe ad that had Richard in a few months back. Didn’t get to meet him and try out the pack unfortunately!

I always find, when trying to create a route on my phone, I get half way through plotting points only to then find it’s decided to rearrange the order of points earlier in the ride and usually reverse the route, so I have to go back and move them all around again which is a PITA…or most often, I just give up!

There is also an absolutely amazing set of flow trails dropping down into Porthemmet. The views down to the beach are worth it alone but the berms are the icing on the (Saffron) cake 🤌

Best off asking on the WKW Facebook group for up to date info, if you’re on there.

I live nearish but haven’t ridden that section for ages*. Most of the trails locally had dried up really nicely up to last weekend. It’s mostly on firm terrain so after a bit of rain, it generally fine. There’s a section of narrow trail with the odd bit of small wheel sized drops near Men an Tol from memory.

Depends on kids’ ages, size, skills etc really…the whole route is generally not gnarly but there’s the odd section that’s rough and may be a little challenging for kids.

    *I say ages…might have been 12 months ago when I had a bit of a re-explore!

I remember getting for Christmas in 1993 Virtua Racer for the Mega Drive, that was an £80 cartridge! Adjusted for inflation that’s over £160 😲

Ha, yeah I bought that too when it came out. Had the superchip bulging out of the cartridge to power those polygon graphics! Visuals were awesome at the time but it was boring to play…only had two tracks, or you could only race against one other car or something, from memory!

Jay Williamson is another option. He’s based down here in Cornwall/Devon but IIRC does coaching at FoD too.

Not had coaching by him myself (although I’ve been meaning to for a while!) but I know local Enduro/DH riders who’ve had sessions with him and really happy with the results.

Oh yeah, and the introduction of an E-Bike based race. I reckon it’ll either be a part of EWS, and will grow so huge that EWS will effectively become an E-Bike series, or an E-bike version of it that will attract more money and support from manufacturers

    E-EWS began in 2020 IIRC

Edit (multiple edits in fact): additional 2022 prediction – this forum will continue to vomit HTML code in replies when I attempt to use the quote function!

Not a barrel roll, but Christan Fittipaldi managed to finish a race (just) after flipping his Minardi, before landing on the wheels and rolling over the line at Monza in 1993 😆

Loco (Simon) works at Wadebridge Bike Shop and I believe you can get your bits serviced by him there IIRC.

Otherwise, RSF Suspension in Plymouth services pretty much anything and is a top bloke. Usually too busy to answer emails/messages quickly so phone call is the best way to contact him.

Unit Cycles in Cornwall is a good shop. Think they might have a couple of Spires in stock but not sure about Spurs.

I’d heard of them, can’t remember how originally…STW? Facebook? Had gone quiet in recent years but they seemed to be the only real group seeking to be an MTB voice a few years ago so a shame they’ve lost traction.

Just upgraded on my 3a. Looks alright but just noticed that in the info bar at the top of the screen, I can see a slight shadow of the battery, phone signal and WiFi icons behind and to the right of the actual icons. More noticeable when the bar is light coloured.

    Anyone else seeing this?

Edit: just took a screenshot of it and it doesn’t show on the screenshot image so looks like the icons are ‘burnt’ into the screen from before…didn’t even know that was even possible on modern screens!

    …time for an upgrade 😆

ex Horse & Jockey staff have recently opened a new pasty shop in Helston. Can’t remember what it’s called but it’s halfway up Coinagehall Street near the post office. H&J recipe and sizes too 👌

I remember when I went to uni in the Midlands in 2000, I bought a St Piran flag to hang on my wall in halls. Made friends with a guy from Derby who had zero clue about Cornwall. He genuinely thought it was some sort of terrorist flag 😆

    Cornish…yes,  primarily

    British…yes

    English…not really

Cornish is a recognised UK national minority along with Welsh etc but never gets put as an option on forms, so I tick ‘British’ if needed generally. Can’t remember what was on the Census, but think I ticked Cornish or wrote it in.

I’m not overly bothered by the whole nationality thing so although I don’t really consider myself English, I’m not a fervent Cornish nationalist either. I have played it up to wind up English mates though 😉

Discovered the issue…our BT router had an update yesterday, which for some reason, resulted in Garmin sites being blocked, including accessing the app log in, via WiFi.

    All sorted now!
