Well finally got round to sorting the shed aka bike workshop this weekend. Decided in the end my DIY skills wouldn't do it justice so opted for the workbench CXI mentioned above from Argos. Quite impressed with it tbh, plenty of room on the peg board for my small array of bike tools and obviously the STW calendar too! Just need to get some wall brackets for the stereo and a fluorescent tube for lighting and the 'workshop' will be complete!

Tigerroach – I work in local government and had just changed from one council to another and like you say I thought those rules would apply hence I wouldn't be eligible. However afterwards I think continuous service might have meant I was actually eligible so could've taken at least the week, d'oh!

Didn't take paternity leave as I'd just changed employers and didn't think I was entitled (in retrospect I should've taken the first week, but wouldn't have been able to afford the second week). Anyway I took 2 weeks of my annual leave so didn't miss out.

    Looks nice!

Still getting the parts together for mine – so far got: frame, fork, handlebar, disc brakes, headset and then also saddle and cranks to be donated from my current commuter.

Really nice place – good food, really nice & clean rooms, bike storage, bar with MTB films on the flat screen and also friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Ah think I saw a couple on my ride home from work today in Redruth. Noticed a little race number on one of their bikes as I rode past and wondered what was on!

Not entirely sure you can unless maybe you root it (could be wrong) however any apps you've paid for can be reinstalled at no cost (when you pay for the apps, it's registered with your Google account so Market knows you've paid already).

    (Edit: beaten to it!)

Been waiting for this for ages! Only problem is, since I started waiting for it, me and Ms Orena45 had a baby and now I rarely have any quality Xbox time anymore

Still will probably get it tho…24th Sept is my birthday so would be a nice birthday pressie!

As Dropoff says, the section of the M5 between Bristol and Weston/Bridgewater area is a nightmare if you hit it around rush hour so make sure you're through well before or after those times! Also, not sure whereabouts in North Cornwall you're going but if you're on the A30 further south avoid Bodmin Moor around Temple if you can too as that gets bad as well!

I bought the frame and fork and building one up (slowly). There's been this thread running for a while with a couple built up including pics.

Can't wait to get mine finished! :-)

Ah cheers guys, some helpful suggestions there! Nearest Ikea is 150 miles away but got a Wickes and B&Q nearby so will take a trip over and see what they've got. Hhopefully give it a go this weekend (and most probably make a right hash of it…but have fun trying no doubt):D

Samuri's white Pompino with white Aerotrack rims looks nice posted here

I've gone for the fluro yellow rims for my Pompetamine build :-D

My parcel arrived today but opened it up to find a pair of Pompino forks in there and not the Pompetamine ones lol! Have to say I'm impressed with the quality of the finish of the frame, looks ace!

No pics though til it's finished, which isn't likely for several months :(

I think my Deuter 3L bladder from Wiggle is a rebranded Source one. It fits in a MULE fine but is a bit of a squeeze when completely full tho. Have to say I much prefer it to the original Camelbak ones especially as it doesn't get mouldy so quickly!

I've got an 2006 Astra (manual, 1.6 SXi). Been very happy with it and have had no trouble. Get on average 38mpg (up to 45mpg on motorways) and enough room for me, Mrs orena45 and our 7 month old and paraphanalia (sp?).

Mrs has a Y-reg Corsa automatic with the Tiptronic gearbox and although I'm not a fan of auto's I have to say it is pretty good in terms of acceleration when needed and fuel economy.

Lol Kev! There's always money for bikes (just means we have to eat off bread and beans every day…it's a price I'm willing to pay) :D

Status: Order held whilst awaiting stock – Your order is on hold whilst awaiting delivery of a missing item(s).

Don't know what the hold up is on my order as the web site is showing 'lots in stock' of the frame, fork and handlebars that I've ordered :?

Same as Bristolbiker, mine's gonna be a long term build too. Am currently thinking I'll wait til Alfine 11 comes out so gives me plenty of time to get bits together.

For the record tho…I'm building mine up with a 2009 Brawn GP colour scheme, so I don't wanna see anything similar! :-)

(Mark – hope you're gonna put some pics up on Facebook of your build or email some to me…looking forward to seeing yours!)

Molgrips – God works in mysterious ways lol!

Ok admitedly not fate (but I did stay an extra couple of minutes at my mum's discussing this, so what if I avoided someone crashing into me on the way home?).

I just meant that it's also the kind of thing certain types of people might put down to there being a 'higher being'…like those who see Jesus in toast (actually, why doesn't anyone ever see Muhammad or Vishnu in food??!)

My little story yesterday could have been interpreted as fate I guess by some. However I'm not that way inclined so it's just a coincidence to me :-)

Went last year and took part in the 12hr Enduro and really enjoyed the whole weekend – lots to see and do, plus the fact I only lived 20 mins away helped!…this year, the event's moved location and so have I so wasn't up for it this year, otherwise would've gone again :-)

How are you building yours up Mark – Singlespeed? Alfine?

Mine's going to be a 'long term' project – fixie 'styling' with a (hopefully 11 spd) Alfine hub. Going to be as and when I can afford parts tho!

Managed to find the geometry specs for the Pomp and my Sirrus – the medium Pomp is 4mm shorter in the top tube so I'm thinking the Large Pomp might be better with a 10mm longer TT if I run with a shorter stem (think I've got a 115mm upsidedown stem currently).

Cheers for the advice folks! :-)

Cheers Simon. I'm intending on building it up as a flat bar commuter. Currently have a medium sized Specialized Sirrus flat bar bike with a long stem & think that feels a bit too small so what you say sounds familiar!

Old pic (has had a few minor changes since but still looks the same).

Has barely had any use this year tbh but I still like it very much, just prefer riding my Fuel EX8 more lately!
