Taking part in Round 1 of the Woodlands Winter DH series near Tavistock on Sunday. My first go at DH racing…and will be on my Ragley MmmBop in the hardtail category!

    Should be fun :-)

It’s not like F1 is any more interesting.

    Erm, yeah it is.
    And that’s saying something!

My 2006 1.6 petrol Astra has had a real-world combined 37mpg over the last 18 months (20,000miles). Typically get 40-42mpg on the motorway. My best run was on my way to last year’s Dyfi enduro when I got 45mpg – was well impressed with that :D

Speaking of Epic Fails…the Black Eyed Peas are the half time entertainment this year

Cheers Simon! Was a pretty stressful build in the end due to the Exeter-based company we ordered with going bust half-way through the job – just when Ms orena45 was about to give birth to our first! We ended up having to deal direct with the factory in Romania to get it completed which ended up being nearly a year after it was originally supposed to have been finished.

    I live in a glorified shed…

…and Ms orena45’s dad lives in a caravan at the other side of our field…and we have a neighbour who lives in a geodesic dome

    Is that alternative enough?
(Edit: ok not as alternative as Junkyard!)

    :D

Yeah I meant Poldice has more aresenic. I have no facts to base that on, I just mean by the fact there’s now an offical ‘leisure’ (MTB) area at Woodlands so must be safe in those areas in that respect, whereas Poldice is still realtively ‘untreated’ mining wastegound.

That defined area of arsenic at Poldice is a popular freeridey play area for local ‘groms’ despite the signs with the skull and crossbones on :!:

Tempted to enter the Winter DH Series in a few weeks at Woodlands. Need to get up there and and see what the trails are like first tho! Rode Gawton for the first time a few weeks back and loved it.

Woodlands sounds like a bit like my local DH trails at Poldice…only with less arsenic :D

I have a brand new white Large frame (and fork) I need to sell, just haven’t got round to putting it up for sale yet. I bought it to build up a new commuter bike but decided 3/4 of the way through the project to build up a Ragley HT instead!

It’s as new, not been touched but could provide pics if needed. Looking for £140 posted frame only or £175 posted with the fork. Got some other parts from the abandoned build to sell so let me know if you’re interested.

My Ragley MmmBop with Veedubba’s RS Pikes I bought off him…

Also, bought an Easton EA50 seatpost off Firestarter a few months back for my Pompetamine build – but gave up on that project to build up the MmmBop so will inlude it with the Pompetamine frame when I sell that soon!

Using Fleegle’s on the Ute with a longer stem. Enough backsweep for comfort but zero rise to avoid the sit up and beg windcatcher pose of the original Ute bars. Works for me.

You got any pics? Have thought about lowering the front end of my Ute, particularly for any mini-touring, so would be interested to see your set-up.

Agree – excellent bike. Had mine for nearly 3 years now and still love it!

Check out Argos too. I just picked up a Samsung X120 for a shade over £300 – it’s about £430 at most other places including Play.com which is usually quite cheap.

Sounds to me like you’ve been unlucky. Never had any problems with my Desire (or the Hero I had before). There shouldn’t be any problems with installing apps as long as you’re doing through Market and normal playing about with the settings shouldn’t fubar it either.

I’ve read about the super-charge trick Dave_aber mentions but think I read that doing that will, in the long run, reduce the battery’s lifespan. Although at least you can replace the battery on a Desire, unlikely certain other phones

I’m registered and as we live in the middle of no-where, I’m not worried about other people using my connection :D It is supposed to be secure enough and limited bandwidth so probably wouldn’t be worried anyway.

Have to say though that on the few occasions I’ve tried logging onto other people connections via my Desire, it’s connected via wifi but not been able to download web sites.

‘E’ is for Edge connectivity…2 and a bit G or something IIRC

I really dislike the Numberjacks. The theme tune is way too sinister.

I’m in a similar situation with £20 CRC and £50 Wiggle vouchers.

Think I might wait til the January Sales are over then pick up something cheap from both of em :D

“the other day”?! Mine updated the other day but didn’t have either – think it just said it was a security update :-(

Must check again when I get home as Ms orena45 keeps asking when it’s coming (the Iplayers were partly how I justified the PS3 purchase a few months back  )

    Well, here’s what I opted for…

I found the Desire camera to be much better than the one on the HTC Hero I had before, but agree, no-where near as good as the camera I had on my Nokia N82 with xenon flash (that was a really good camera phone). However like Verses says, the quality of the rest of the phone more than makes up for it!

I use the FM radio occassionally (my data allowance would be eaten up by t’internet radio…probably), but I find the quality really does depend upon the earphones you’re using – my Sony Walkman earphones picked up an excellent signal but my new Seinheisser one’s aren’t as good despite being decent earphones of similar quality/price bracket.

Had been eyeing up some Sektors myself the last week and found some HERE. Not a bad price and appears as though the 20mm Maxle is in stock (most stores seem to be out of stock of this flavour atm).

Thankfully my (wooden) house, south of Camborne, was still standing when I woke up this morning! Sounded pretty breezy last night but we live at the top of a hill so no worries of flooding for us :-)
