i think the the rights are up for the coverage at the end of the year so if you want warner and co next year get your wallet out

Damn right. Need 4300 more people to buy the pay-per-view pass this weekend if there is any chance of Freecaster showing anything next year according to ‘Ray’ @ Freecaster:

I keep reading that people would happily fund the coverage but to date for the worlds we have registered 700 pay per view passes, we need 5000 to cover costs…

If the coverage is to have a future on Freecaster it will be down to the fans and so far for the worlds I’m counting 700 not the thousands that one would expect are out there. So if you want to play an active role, buy your pass and get your friends to join. If we sell more than 5000 passes for the worlds, then maybe we can reassess the options for the future

Google’s fine – all automatic so no need to faff about with HTC Sync/Outlook etc…your phone and Google contacts will always be synced. You can export all your contacts from Google in .CSV format for Outlook if needed though.

Probably not much help but I have EN521s on Hope Pro IIs on my MmmBop and ridden a mix of XC and local DH and they’ve been super tough so far. I am 10.5st though and a fairly smooth rider but they’ve been clattered through rock gardens and cased the odd double and still fine.

    Ooh nasty.

The melee was the latest instance of on-court fighting by China, whose players have been fined tens of thousands of dollars by the world and Asian federations for scrapping with opponents.

And I always thought Chinese players were supposed to be respectful in general!

I commute 8.5 miles with a Crumpler Donny Frank. Usually just carry clothes minus shoes (which I keep at work as well as a towel, shower gel and bike lock). Find it absolutely fine even when I’ve carried more/heavier stuff!

Would definatley recommend a Crumpler – pricey but I’ve had mine for 4-5 years, gets used daily whether I ride to work or not and also if I go away for a weekend etc, and it’s still as good as new.

    >500mm width, mtb clamp compatible bullhorn bars for my commuter bike… (On One – frustratingly so close!)

Update: I remembered I had a 31.8mm stem in the box of bits so ordered the Bingo bars which arrived today. The MTB brake levers and shifters on my flat bar road bike fitted onto the bars fine (though I did need to take the windows off the shifters to fit around the bend).

The only problem I have now is that there isn’t much room on the flat section for my hands together with the brake levers and shifters, (which I did suspect when I bought them but figured I’d buy and find out). Would be better if the bars were non-OS or just that bit wider, say 500mm wide. But for SS disc bikes, they’d be ideal. I’m going to try them out for a commute and see but reckon they’re too narrow/cramped for geared setup so will likely be selling them on which is a shame

My Trek Fuel EX8 has barely been ridden since I built my Ragley MmmBop just before Christmas. In fact it’s been ridden so little, it appears the seals on the XT brakes have gone so until I get some spare cash, it’s not going to be ridden for even longer

I saw those Bingo bars a couple days ago – been wanting a bullhorn bar for my commuter bike for ages but one which takes MTB shifters/brakes so thought these were perfect!…then noticed they were only available in 31.8mm clamp size and my stem is 25.8mm or whatever non-OS is…grrr, the wait continues :(

Agree, though in terms of the Charing Cross…could be my next commuter bike

If you’re on Farcebook (EDIT: and get no luck here – I would offer but the Dyfi Enduro is the only event I regularly do…which by all means a lift might be possible), take a look at the pages for Cornwall MTB, Cornish Trailriders and Cornwall Freeriders – might be worth asking on there :-)

Allestree/Darley Abbey is top of the ladder.
Littleover, Mickleover, Spondon, Oakwood, Chellaston areas are decent for the most part.
Chaddesden, Alvaston and Mackworth have some alright bits but also some rough bits.
    Allenton and Normanton generally rough.

Going by what you request above, I’d say look at Nottingham Road area of Chaddesden, Spondon or Alvaston areas. Chellaston’s good for M1 south access.

Derby’s a pretty decent city for cycling in, you can cycle from the edge of town to the centre/train station in 25-30mins. There’s a converted canal path that runs from Chellaston right to the station and all traffic free.

I lived in Oakwood for 4 years until recently. Nice enough though characterless…2 bed semi with decent garden and driveway for £475 a month (though our rent never went up during the 4 years so possibly close to your budget now). Cycled to work in the town centre in 15 mins and some local shops nearby.

Riding wise – good bridleway network to the south of Derby (there’s a regular fast paced XC Monday night ride in that area), lack of network to the north but still some decent cheeky trails.

Ok, thought Disco Black would be some sort of glittery finish and I imagine Jet Black is just a standard black finish…but what is Cherry Black and Pearl Black then??!…Black with red sparkles for Cherry and glossy black for Pearl????

A quick Google brings up a ‘press release’ of some sorts:

“MBRs trail bike of the year for 2011 has had some slight revisions as well as two new sizes added for 2012.

In response to the popularity of dropper seat posts Orange have been working on lowering the top tube of the Five. The new frame has a top tube based on an 18″ bike with the seat tube dropped one inch to allow riders room to fit a height adjustable seatpost and run it comfortably at the five inch full extension. The 17″ tag is used primarily for ordering convenience, and the 16 and 18″ sizes remain as they were in 2011.

Sizing comprehensively covered at the small extreme, we’ll now be offering a 22″ frame for the tallest of riders. Using custom built tubing to combat additional stresses, the Five geometry has been adapted to bring the same ride characteristics despite the additional height. To promote strength and stiffness, the frame will only be offered with the Maxle rear end.

Standard colors for the 2012 Five.
    • Gloss Black
    • Mandarin Orange
    • Electric Blue
    • Passion Red

Custom colors available from Unique Sports Company.

    Frames available from July 2011.”

Not seen anything myself, but did read recently somewhere (might have been in Dirt a couple months back), they are updating forks on a two year cycle…with a few ranges updated one year and then the rest the following.

I think the 55s were updated this year so probably no change til the 2013 range. Not sure about the 66s.
