Where abouts in Cornwall are you heading Capt. Kronos?

There isn’t a bridleway to the top of Brown Willy AFAIK, infact Bodmin Moor is pretty devoid of any bridleways. Only ridden once on Bodmin Moor (near Minions, with Crispy Bacon) and there are a few trails around there.

Cornwall has lots of great riding…it’s just not obvious. Or strictly legal. ;-)

Just for balance, no problems with the sidewalls on my Protection MK2 and X-King after a year, and some rocky enough trails in my area.

As above, cheap, basic and literally on the trails. Food is limited in choice (especially if you’re a veggie) but you do get a lot on your plate.

Yeah seems to work well. Only downside, with it being an Android app, is that at the end of the tablet version, it says something like ‘thanks for downloading this IPad mag’ :? :-)

I can’t believe this has gone to 3 pages and not one person has mentioned the new Five being 650b…surely the perfect clash of STW forum’s most ‘loved’ subjects

It’s all about the Lingerie/Legends Football League now. :D

Had Peaty’s on my bikes for years and found them to be hard wearing but plenty grippy enough. Will definitely buy another set when they eventually wear out.

Grippy enough for the man himself too…

Running a 32t cassette on my CdF/new Sora mech with no problem.

Love my CdF. Tough but not that heavy. Depends what your used to I guess.

    I’m 5’8″, 32″ leg and the 54cm frame is perfect, with a 70mm stem.

Got out for my first overnight bivvy just over a week ago. Headed out about 7.30pm with a mate on a Thursday night with the aim to head to the coast via a few cheeky PRoW, find somewhere to camp over night and then up early the next morning to go to work.

Pretty much went to plan, and apart from being underdressed during the night and getting cold, I quite enjoyed it! Best commute of the year…actually ever I reckon!

I bought a balance bike for my then 2.5 year old last summer but she’s never wanted to ride it as it’s “too scary”. This year, been trying to get her to try it again and she says she want a bike with pedals, like daddy. Seems that seeing daddy ride a bike with pedals, she’s concluded that one without is dangerous :-(

Yeah it’s good fun on a CX bike for the most part. Only the top section of the final red descent (Hell’s Teeth) is a bit uncomfortable with the loose rocky-slatey surface :-D

Anyone know what the latest is with this? Appears to be available to buy from 18 Bikes but there’s nowt anywhere else on t’internet in terms of availabilty, not even on Genesis’ own site.

(Yes I could contact Genesis direct, but it’s not that urgent and anyway, gives forumites a chance to wildly speculate  )

Some DH tracks very near St Ives, search YouTube for Rosewall. Plenty of stuff around Poldice valley between Redruth and Bissoe that’s worthy of the Five, or head up to the new trail centre at Cardinham Woods near Bodmin.

Probably best seeing of you can hook up with either Penwith MTB or Cornish Trailriders, both are on Facebook I think (CTR are definitely, not sure about PMTB though).

I’ve not had a problem with mine on my Genesis CdF. I read all the ‘horror stories’ of how bad they were before I bought the bike, and thought I would probably have to upgrade to BB7s pretty soon but in all honesty, they’re fine in my experience.

Had a 1.6 SXi for just over 5 years from practically new. Apart from the coil pack needing replacing in the final year I had it, it was totally reliable. Was pretty economical at around 38-39mpg driving around…got up to 44mpg on a good motorway run.

Only sold it because Ms orena45 wanted us to go from a 2 car to a 1 car household and promptly bought a Mini Cooper of Ebay, so had to sell my beloved Astra to pay for it :-(

No flats for me, running tubes, but two riding mates running tubeless got puntures.

Had a great day, though the heat was taking it’s toll on me towards the end!

Strava says I have the quickest time out of the other 88 people who used strava on that dunkery stage woo!

Well done on that one anus, I’m 5th fastest on that stage on Strava :-) Got briefly held up by someone but not too much (probably wouldn’t have gotten close to your time!)…certainly my best stage of the weekend!

Typically, the latest officially supported version of Android should download to your phone automatically. Go to your settings and check for an update.

Otherwise you’ll need to root the phone to install a newer version.

Anyone into patent stuff? – Can you patent something that is already released etc?

No, not once it’s in the public domain

That hasn’t stopped Apple (but that’s another off topic can of worms)!

Maximum of 6mm upstand for dropped crossings. Is it a new construction that’s already potholed, or an older one that’s potholed and not been fixed?

Yeah you can camp it up Friday night.

    Chilled out, relaxed, Dyfi-esque
If you can ride it already, you’ll be fine

Different course this year from what I’ve heard and an extra stage on day 1, but similar in nature. Did hear Dunkery Beacon mentioned somewhere :?
