    Good few years ago,

An OTB left my CB in 3 pieces with a sharp pointy bit sticking up causing me excruciating pain, so called ‘specialist’ said it will heal eventually.

6 months later I had a check up with a different specialist and had a plate installed a few days later due to non union. Glad I did as researching the injury it seems that it can cause a lot of problems in later life (back pain, posture etc)

Lost a lot of muscular mass and getting back to normal was hard. Stuck to the rehab exercise but still only have about 80% range.

Don’t really notice It now but occasionally it ‘twangs’ in cold weather, not nice at all.

Keep meaning to get a little DH bike tattooed above the scar 😁

I’ve had success with a difficult bleed rear XT by hanging the brake diagonal off the bike and used an old electric tooth brush to vibrate the bubbles out of any knooks n crannys.

Best form of self defence is to keep your distance/flee

Second best is a leg sweep and then to leave the situation quickly (from experience I now choose plan A)

When in a threatening situation a preemptive strike is acceptable in the eyes of the law.

Ive gone full silver hope on a ‘limited addition’ green Solaris and really like the combo.

Never really liked OTT coloured bikes, fashions fade but style remains 😉

I expect to keep this bike for a good few years and When the anodising eventually rubs of my silver hope bits they will look,,,,,,, silver 😁

Thought this was a ‘panic before brexit buying’ subject.

Have pulled the Gbike out a few times to see little glossy bits on the tires, obviously punctures I’ve avoided.

Have had a few rides where the punctures failed to seal due to high pressure (40psi max)

    I’m still undecided

I take spare tubes when I do a ‘big un’ but I don’t take spare stans fluid/ noodles.

    Maybe I should,

which is easier? Changing or patching a tube OR faffing with a tubeless+noodle and adding more seaLent when it doesn’t seal.

Not convinced tubeless is the future with road/gravel

    My method,
Put chain in old bike bottle and quarter fill with white spirit,
give it a good shake every now and again and leave over night,
Squirt the used white spirit into glass jar and keep it for next time (the dirt sinks to the bottom after a few days),
Rinse with soapy water then clean water (bike bottle/shake),
    dry and oil.

I find Chain cleaners a faf and mucoff Expensive.

Me and a pal train spotted his set at cream in the early 90s, just before all the beautiful people moved into the latest trendy club and killed the scene.

Passed him a 3 skinner halfway through smokebelch just as my Mitsubishi kicked in.

    Good memories

Maybe it doesn’t matter, if brexit results in employment being at an all time high then that’s a bonus for the tory.

Let’s not mention the possible reduction in wages, pensions and workers rights.

I pray this will see a rise in union membership, but I suspect that unions will be next on the list for the Murdoch propaganda leaflets

Don’t talk to me about losing stuff,

After suffer a head injury several years ago I went from being an Uber organised OCD loon to being a forgetful loon.

My only way of coping with this is to have small piles of ‘useful’ stuff around the house, this is so I can’t lose anything important.

(Useful as in no idea what I need it for)

My main problem is ,,, for eg,,,
Servicing forks and putting very small bits safe to one side whilst I root through a big pile of useless stuff for a specific bit of useful stuff then not being able to find the small useful bit to finish the job…

    Sometimes I laugh 😞

Just had a look and I’m confused how the public comments regarding
    CF are closed,
THE SUN seems happy enough for ‘people’ to comment on brexit or ISIS.

I’m not entirely sure why this woman is famous but I have heard of her due to the ‘daily sun’ or what ever that comic book for knuckle draggers is called. AFAIK, the ‘daily sun’ has been slating her for a while, as Tend to flick through the papers the uneducated leave lying around at work.

    This article induces vomit

Poor woman, victim of ‘celebrity’ culture.

I hope her death is not in vain and is the start of change.

BUT give these lads ago/help the poor saps out, the work looks good.

Maybe an AA style emergency phone box every 100 metres up Ben/snowden would eventually sort this problem out,,,,,

    Perp, Hi, I’ve got stuck…..

    Doesn’t compute ,

It’s not a reverse atherton bike.

Cannot ‘fix’ a tI crack with a resin, Shirley ?

Ti welding is not easy compared to steel ( Nvq welder but not in trade for 30 years )

TI welding suffers from many probs due to air bubbles in the weld weakening the area,,,,, AFAIK
    Defo a pro job

My RIVALS do the same, muddy puddle/grinding, it very annoying.

Also have had problems with rear Shimano brakes after bleeding. I now take the brake off the bike and hang it from the lever overnight to allow any micro air bubbles to rise, I run an old electric toothbrush over it to help ‘vibrate’ any air out of the nooks, seem to work well.

My Sram rival suffers this problem with aftermarket pads. I either file them down with a rasp or bench grinder, a PITA to get right and even then I usually just suffer them dragging until they wear sufficiently not to

I’ve chipped a piston using the screwdriver twist method, I use a decent plastic tyre lever now

I’ve carried Swiss Army knives for 25ish years can’t imagine not having one on me.

I have a few on rotation but usual EDC is a huntsman for work, Spartan for out and about and a classic on the key ring, use them everyday.

SAK soldier or Hultafors/moras for camping and outdoorsy stuff though.

Sounds like you need a new bike 😉

I’ve worried about this also, tcx wheelset has been faultless for 4 years of Agro xc on my ‘adventure’ bike, but,,,,, it’s going to happen.

Ive pretty much accepted its a rebuild and replace if the hubs go west. Spares are few and far and expensive if you find, such a shame,,,Without doubt the best wheelset I’ve owned ☹️

    Quinsey ?

I was diagnosed with this by a school nurse when I worked at a ‘borstal’ type establishment.

Apparently it’s quite dangerous as it can close the airways to the point of suffocating,

That was about 5 years ago, it flares up every so often 🙄
