Latest toro emits 3000+ lumens, maybe exposure can update the internals/change the battery.
Spend the rest of the budget on a lid light.

Another frame bag user here, the small Cotic/restrap bag on my Solaris holds phone, pump, keys, glasses case, 29r tube, ecig, exposure flare, tubeless repair tool and an old puncture repair container with things and bits in it, still has room to spare.
Lightweight jacket in a hummvee map pocket if needed.
Clear bottle on the frame so as I can see/ration water consumption.

Jute twine tied into elaborate ‘Celtic’ knots was used as trail markers at an eco-retreat I stayed at a few years ago.

I had similar (and many other problems) with a sram rival mech just before it disintegrated due to jockey wheel bolt undoing itself.

Problem solved when rebuilt with added blob of locktite.

Don’t like silent hubs, don’t know why.
I do like the noise my pro4s make and sometimes it can indicate that they might need a bit of a service if the tone of the buzz changes, need grease, need a clean, need a new pawl/spring.

Funnily, I only hear the buzz when I’m coasting on the flat, don’t notice it when I’m flying down a hill.

Very happy with my British hand crafted artisan light.
Bought it on 0% credit, £14pm.
Some internet people claim they still work after 10yrs of use and customer service is excellent.

Ive had to many bad experiences with cheap lights.

    Seems it’s true.

Thought my 2019 Solaris max was perfect for me until I tried a 2021 Bfe 😶

Spent almost a decade looking at a maxxD, could never justify the cost compared to cheap shite eBay specials.

Bought a mxxD last year on finance.

I regret not buying one sooner.

Same as OP I’m not a fan of big logos,
Usually buy endura, Rab and Berghaus as they fit my portly frame better.

I’ve also had some decent, cheap, subtle logo kit off sportpursuit.com that come with the added bonus of confusing gear snobs who think you’ve found the latest coolest brand 😁

2x well used bikes stolen few years ago, culprits soon found.
My plans of kicking doors and heads in soon wained when I received the insurance offered and started looking at what to replace them with.

Thieves in question had been on a spree and pished a lot of people off.
Locals held a meeting and invited local PC, anger was vented but police didn’t seem to do anything until somebody distributed western style ‘wanted’ posters and the vigilantes helped the thieves fall down some concrete steps.
Thieves arrested for handling not long after as the police had suddenly found the resources to put them under observation.

I in no way blame the police for the delayed action, the Mrs works at the local station and knows how bad moral is due to Tory cuts.

I’ve got a 10 year old? Paddy hopkirk bike rack, used frequently to carry a DH bike over rough ground, never budged.
The straps still work as new.

Ps, the ‘micro loop’ Velcro that Alpkit uses is surprisingly secure if wrapped around enough times, cheap for a length as well.

Woah, that’s a MASSIVE jungle collection.

Sat in a caravan with weak signal so will have to wait a week to explore this…

    Cheers 👍

My entire ‘mancave’ collection of crass, dead Kennedy’s, subhumans, zounds etc are all CD and will be replaced when the skipping gets to annoying, i like the journey that a certain album takes you on.

Punk sessions in the work van, camping etc are all Spotify.

The precious vinyls will remain in the loft for family heirloom reasons.

    Love a good skip dive,

Once found 6 huge HP ink cartridges still sealed but out of date.
Put them on eBay at they sold for just over £500.

I also have a few bits in the loft hopefully gaining value, one is a set of 6 rose wood mid century dining chairs made by molbfarik that retain for about 2k, got them from the local tip 😁

I don’t know how to fight back but I donate to the ‘good law project’

Edit: I do fight back, if the opportunity arises I will try and engage people and discuss politics, hopefully I will plant a seed.

Not sure on the fit but can be had for 30/40 quid on eBay.

Tried a few different cheap drop bars but settled in the ritchey venture max 46cm, they good for the price.

    Mine (alloy clamp) did
Fitted it just before a trip to llandegla a few years ago, hit the first Jump at the top and it sheared off at the clamp, luckily only grazing inner thigh.

Completing the rest of the trail with no seat/post was flipping hard, got a few confused looks as well 😁

    Cheap, Chinese, crap. Pick 3.

Check you home security is adequate.

I found 2 turds on my driveway/behind the car over the space of a fortnight and had 2 bikes stolen the week after. Mentioned it when I reported the theft to the police who explained that heroin addicts are known to have involuntary bowel movements when out mooching.

I bought an old set of damaged Sheffield steel chisels from a car boot a few years ago and attempted grinding the chipped edge back to straight/sharpening during lockdown.
I already had several wet stones/jig and an Aldi bench grinder but anything beyond a quick pass over a wet stone and strop was more difficult than I could be bothered with.

I will be picking them up from the local saw doctor on Friday😁
£12 to sort out the extra damage I did to all 4 of them seems a good price to me.

In a previous job I looked after a large town house converted into student accommodation, when the house was vacated I was given a bunch of keys and told to make good any damage and redecorate.
Unlocked a what I thought was a storage cupboard under the stairs to find a rolladisco in the basement look untouched for years, glitter ball and a crate of cherry-B covered in dust.

Lift it existing felt if possible. apply ‘trowel on’ bitumen and new patch.

    Make good.

In an emergency/lack of new crush washers I’ve sorted fork oil weeps a few times by drilling or punching an 8mm internal hole In a piece of plastic milk bottle and roughly cut perimeter to size that will fit outside the retainer bolt.

    No probs so far.
