    Owned both.
Only difference I could tell is the yari is stiffer than pike but the pike is more plush.
I wouldn’t buy 2nd hand unless it came with proof of recent service, recommended service interval usually ignored by most and not much oil in them to start with.

Been following this thread for a while. Early Poster got it spot on for me. My Mtb just gets used for short thrill seeking blasts nowadays and is a chore on the longer rides I want to do.

Is it an age thing, I’m 40-ish, got first Atb in 94 , Raleigh m-trax (I think) and just rode for the adventures it could take me on

My first dropbar bike is being delivered on Monday (Raleigh mustang)

…………..I’ve booked the week off work

Got a take away curry banquet last Christmas Eve and warmed it up for Christmas dinner, mum didn’t have to run round in the kitchen all morning and I didn’t have to wash every pot and pan they own before I went home.
Will prob do the same this year.

Instant coffee in the likes of co$ta etc. Not everybody wants a Triple, Venti, Half Sweet, Non-Fat, Caramel Macchiato..

Although I’ve never been in that type of place.

Had both, not much in it but I reckon the yari is less flexy and the pike is more plush on squre edges.
However I had about 20hrs using the yari so seals just breaking in and haven’t faffed with tokens or. Sweet spot psi yet.
Don’t miSs all the adjustment or the lock out of the pike, yari just works.

Cut the sole flat on the pedal contact area and leave the toe/heal grippy for walking up muddy hills.

Finally got to the end of this very persuasive thread.

I called in to GO yesterday to have a look at the dune and they were happy for me to have a pedal up the the isles ( and a sneaky bit of gravel around the tents when out of sight ) And yes I did find myself with a big silly fat bike grin when I got off it

Got talking to the Young mechanic who told me that he had recently been to nottiningham (GO HQ? ) and seen next years model with a dropper, yari (presumed Bluto) forks and better brakes.

If he’s correct I reckon I will be joining ‘fat club’ next year :D

Maybe not what your after but I’ve had a pair of Endura humvee for about 8 years have worn them for XC, DH and DIY and they have the battle scars to prove.
had the ass proffesionaly sewn back together twice and I still use them.
Got another pair gathering dust in the wardrobe for when they finally die.

Landscaping my back garden all summer. fell down a 2′ drainage trench (I had dug and stepped over a hundred times) whilst treating myself to a beer, torn ligaments. Job on hold
1 month later I whacked my thumb with a rubber mallet and had to have part of the nail removed to relive the swelling/blood blister. Job on hold.
Took last week off to catch up for all the time I’ve had off sick, first weekend I sprained the same ankle whilst carrying a bag of cement down a step. Job on hold?,,,,,,, nah, I soldiered on.
Saturday night rushing to get the flagging finished I hit the same thumb with the same bleeding rubber mallet and suffered a compound fracture which will result in me loosing the tip of my left thumb.
Just glad I’ve got a new 11speed AM hard tail , probably a lot less risk of injury and I only need 1 thumb to change gears

Had 2 bikes nicked recently, ( left my cordless 4″ grinder on garage floor next to them :| ) insurance paid out and has got me a new bike, van vault for my tools/grinder, garage alarm, 4 PIR NV cameras wired to a cloud and alerts me by text when triggered. I have also bought some sheets of concrete slab reinforcing mesh that I will be welding together to form a bike locker and also welding to the steel rafters in the roof.

I know they will be back

    Google ikea mattress problems.
Ours lasted 18mnths before the springs sagged in the middle. Complained to ikea 6mnths later after springs started sticking into my back and they sent an independent company round to inspect it. He just asked me questions about my weight and if we turned it regularly, not once did he actually inspect the matteress
His report said that sagging was due to excessive use ? Not covered by garauntee.
When we could afford a new one I took the expensive cover off to use on another brands mattress and found that the memory foam had split exposing the pocket springs full length of my upper half.
Spent hours and I really mean hours trying to get through on the phone to complain (listening to abba on a loop when you want to rant at somebody is not helpful)
Took the mattress to ikea to get them to look at it and they said I would have to ring complaints line.
Dont think I’ve been impressed with any of the furniture I’ve bought from ikea its disposable junk that looks ok, will NEVER buy an ikea matteress again.
    25 year garauntee ‘my arse’

Not sure on how to remove paint without damaging powder coat but if it was me I would be carefully sanding it by hand :|
What I di know is that if you do remove all paint and powder coat and find the door is galvanised you will need an etching primer before painting it or the paint will not adhere.
